Cancelled an order the day after I purchased it. On live chat, they refunded me.

End of ... I thought.

Today it’s been delivered. I can’t be bothered with the hassle of returning it, aibu to keep it?

Oh also Amazon have cancelled peoples accounts for this sort of thing, after recharging of course.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 12/12/2017 16:41

FGS it’s thieving because it’s not been paid for.

HotelEuphoria · 12/12/2017 16:44

I had this last week, parcel cancelled and refunded then Hermes (who else!) turned up with it today. I rejected it even though I didn't have to sign for it.

simonisnotme · 12/12/2017 16:50

Im guessing the OP is asking on here so that she can MNetters told me to justify keeping the item that she really wanted in the first place

paxillin · 12/12/2017 17:15

Useful thread, if only for the eagerly sordidness- and depravity- signalling posters. Good to on the next thread.

Sallystyle · 12/12/2017 17:46

It happened to me once.

I kept it.

My morals must be proper shit.

oliveinacampervan · 12/12/2017 17:49

@ladydeadpool

Olive sounds like a scav in the language of my playground days! Honestly two wrongs don't make a right and bragging about it just lets people know what sort of person you are. Can't believe how you're bragging. Karma takes her time but she'll get round to you one day.

Yeah I probably was a scav from your playground. I probably nicked your crisps when you weren't looking, stamped all over them, and then tipped them on your head, whilst I nicked your dinner money.

And I would still keep the package, despite all the moral outrage, and the pearl clutching horror on here from the gentle fragile super honest ladies of mumsnet. In fact, the more expensive the item, and the more I can scam and thieve, the better!

Coz I'm a BAD mother fucka!!!!! Grin

You know it! Wink

Sallystyle · 12/12/2017 17:52

I'm absolutely amazed the number of people who are brought up to have no moral compass.

Actually, my mum is much more moral than I am and she would have been on the phone in seconds to let them know.

My apparent lack of morals are all down to me. Not how I was raised. She would be very disappointed with me.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 12/12/2017 17:55

Nah. I don’t believe you Olive. I think you’re trying to come over all bad ass on MN. Not sure why though.

oliveinacampervan · 12/12/2017 18:02

You got me @Greatduckcookery, I am just a nasty thieving cunt.

oliveinacampervan · 12/12/2017 18:02

Thought I'd save you the bother of saying it! Grin

oliveinacampervan · 12/12/2017 18:04

I'm off now for a walk. I need some Christmas lights for my outside bushes, and I'm fucked if I'm paying for the fuckers. The house at the end of my street has at least 10 sets all over their bushes. They won't miss a set.

nokidshere · 12/12/2017 18:08

I have had duplicate or cancelled goods delivered more than once and each time I have called the sender they told me to keep it anyway.

Urubu · 12/12/2017 20:12

I'll send back if they provided a hassle free way of doing it, ie not paying for postage and being reimbursed later and not waiting at home for an 8h slot pickup

QuackPorridgeBacon · 12/12/2017 20:55

oliveinacampervan Come on now, you’re ascot g a bit cringe now.

QuackPorridgeBacon · 12/12/2017 20:56

You’re acting*

Sanshin · 12/12/2017 20:59

I'm also a thief according to some on mumsnet (because a hotel undercharged me and although I've asked for a correct invoice I haven't moved hell and water to chase them up about it 😂)

Needless to say, I wouldn't send it back.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/12/2017 11:26

I read that thread, @Sanshin, and I think you have done everything that is reasonable. If I recall correctly, the person who contacted you asked you to FB message them your bank details, to make the payment - and who in their right mind would do that?? Asking for an invoice so you can make payment safely is not theft. If they don't send you the requested invoice, and you don't pay, in my opinion you have made all the effort you can be expected to make, and are not a thief.

Lancelottie · 13/12/2017 11:42

We've had an extra lamp for years that still, strictly, belong to a somewhat confused company (not Amazon).

I ordered one half price in the sale. They delivered it. It was a bit wonky and smaller than I'd realised, and I asked them to collect and refund.

The courier arrived with a second identical lamp, and refused to take away the first as that wasn't on the instructions.

I emailed again. They got a bit huffy and said they'd already sorted it out, and couldn't send another as the sale had ended: did I want a refund or not?

I'll admit I was slightly tempted to go for the 'two lamps plus full refund' option...

sweetsomethings · 13/12/2017 13:31

STDG I think what got so many peoples backs up was that the OP knew she owed the money but said that she couldn't afford it anymore and wanted to wait till after Xmas to pay.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/12/2017 14:57

Iirc, she said that initially, but then said she'd asked for a proper invoice, so she did take on board what people said to her.
