Would you stay in a Trump hotel?

Next year we're going to Las Vegas and are pricing up hotels. The Trump looks amazing, 5 star at a good price, big rooms and looks lovely and posh. It's £500 for 3 nights. In comparison, Caesars Palace which is a 4 star is £1300 for 3 nights.

But it's Trump!! Would you ignore the owner for the sake of a good hotel at a good price?

Bellagio is £214 and Trump £112 a night for same weekend. Are you comparing the same type of rooms, using a screen scraper? Because the prices you quote seem unbelievably high

Sillysausage123 · 11/12/2017 13:34

I'd be terrified that terrorists would target that hotel in particular so wouldn't stay

Timeforanamochango · 11/12/2017 13:37

I would stay there. Hate trump but not staying in his hotel is barely going to achieve anything. My morals aren’t worth that much money, although I wouldn’t stay in a hitler hotel!

I’m guessing the other CEO’s of the hotels your considering are saints and not in any way greedy business men with questionable morals? They donate all profit to orphan children and therefore you’re happy to spend £800 more with them for the same experiance?

SunnyCoco · 11/12/2017 13:37

God no

blueskyinmarch · 11/12/2017 13:43

Absolutely not. I don't plan to even travel to The US whilst he is in office. My DHs work booked him a Trump hotel when he had to travel on business to NY. He made them change it to somewhere else. I despise the man and no part of his business is getting any of my money ever.

sweetsomethings · 11/12/2017 13:45

I would

OuchLegoHurts · 11/12/2017 13:45

but if it costs me more money to stay elsewhere then he's kind of winning anyway if that makes sense

I would imagine that means he's losing! Having to drop prices to entice people to stay is not a great sign for him.

OuchLegoHurts · 11/12/2017 13:46

And no, I wouldn't ever stay in any of his hotels. Or Hitler's, if he had any. Or Stalin's. You get the idea.

ArcheryAnnie · 11/12/2017 13:47

No. Would spoil the holiday for me, knowing I'd contributed to That Man.

I've been to Las Vegas and stayed in an absolutely gorgeous motel for peanuts. There's a ton of really nice cheap places that aren't on the strip, not just Trump's.

georgedawes · 11/12/2017 13:49

"kiddy fiddler" is a disgustingly glib term. By his own admission (on tape) he is a sexual predator.

No way on earth I'd stay there, even if you paid me.

bumbleymummy · 11/12/2017 13:51

No, we wouldn’t. I totally understand how tempting it is price-wise but I just couldn’t.

Fishfingersandwichnocheese · 11/12/2017 13:52

No I wouldn’t personally. I have some ..moral dilemmas about stuff like that and try not to line the pockets of people like Trump even though I know he and those like him will hardly miss my money.

There’s a number of countries I’d love to visit but won’t on account of this too.

fizzthecat1 · 11/12/2017 13:58

OP just book it. The people on this thread are embarrassing. I'm sure most own iPhones / MACS where slave labour is used to make them.

SuburbanRhonda · 11/12/2017 14:07

I'm sure most own iPhones / MACS where slave labour is used to make them.

And this is relevant to the OP’s specific question about staying in a Trump hotel because ...?

HandsOffMyChocolate · 11/12/2017 14:11

No. Whilst I don't check the credentials of every CEO of every company I use, I will actively avoid giving money to organisations where my personal values are clearly at odds with their well known values or owners.

It's the same reason I won't use companies under the Murdoch umbrella and refuse to buy energy from any company who is basically a state owned monopoly in their own country (so my profit pays for their infrastructure rather than our own).

There are many more but I have my line in the sand, and never cross it (the sodding thing keeps getting bigger though because rich people are entitled arseholes).

As for fizz's comment I also boycott Apple products.

GoblinDinosaur · 11/12/2017 14:11

No. You couldn't pay me to stay there.

CheekyFuckersAreEntertaining · 11/12/2017 14:12

I would. Absolutely.

I'd happily sit in the suite listening to Gary Glitter songs, watching re-runs of The Cosby Show whilst wearing my Jim'll Fix It badge and reading my autographed copy of Mein Kampf.

Actually..... nope. I don't think I could ever support that self proclaimed sexual predator, mysoginistic, homophobic, elitist, psychotic twunt.

Glumglowworm · 11/12/2017 14:16

Nope, wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole

There are a million hotels in Vegas, you have far more options than just those two

villamariavintrapp · 11/12/2017 14:17

No. Wouldn't travel to the US while he's president. But my husband has a Muslim surname, so we may not be allowed in anyway.

Killerfiller · 11/12/2017 14:19

Petty Confused

worridmum · 11/12/2017 14:24

is it petty? look what Trump does to people in Scotland before him became president.

A giant earth wall around your property your gas water and electricity cut off because did not want to sell your home to him.

The court case against him had to stop due to him being elected morally you cannot support him and what he does because he is morally corrupt and just barely legal enough to avoid being arrested.

I bet if it was a Seville or a Kim (North Korea funded) hotel or something no one would say they would go there no matter the discounts.

blueskyinmarch · 11/12/2017 14:27

Killer. You say petty I say principled.**

Nyx1 · 11/12/2017 14:28

no fucking way
when I was last in Vegas he was only just starting to talk about running and we didn't even want to look at it

at that stage we just thought he was an evil git - never dreamed he would actually get in. oh those happy innocent days.....

there are loads of nice hotels there in the same price range.

bert3400 · 11/12/2017 14:30

I stayed there 6 years ago ...yes it was nice but I wouldn't stay now . Knowing I was lining his racist pockets with my money would not make for a pleasant stay .
