To ask how old you were when you add your last child?

I’m 39 next month. Would love another child but need IVF. Send me your stories to give me hope that I’m not too old and it will work!

34. My cousin is 43 and due any second. (Perfectly healthy pregnancy and baby, btw - but she was very fit to begin with.)

4th & final at 41 (I had my 1st at 33)...

I’m 29 and pregnant with my second and last.

I couldn’t be arsed with dealing with Teenagers in my 50s, and from my mums experience, the older she was having my siblings, the less patience she seems to have had with them.

I understand I’m lucky tho, I’ve been with my OH for ten years, we are financially comfortable and both wanted kids. A lot of women I know either haven’t met the right person yet or aren’t financially ready to have kids yet.

I was 37, but by no means the last of my friends to have a baby. One friend, aged 43, just had her first this year. Another friend had her first at 45. Many others I know had their 1st, 2nd or 3rd between the ages of 38-42.

41, both of my children were via IVF and FET so I understand where you are coming from.

I was just 32 when dc3 was born.

As it turns out, I was in the perimenopause by 35 so I'm glad I had my dc when I did.

39. Had my 40th birthday when she was 6 months old. Had my eldest aged 25.

Had our first at 36 and second at 38.

I was 28 with my first and just about to have my third (probably last).. due 3 days after my 33rd birthday, so I will probably be 33.

I am young compared to my friends, we married in 2012 and had our first the year after. I may have waited longer for our first but there is 7 years between me and DH and we knew we wanted three, so he will be 40 when our last is born which works for us.

I’m 36 and, all being well, my second and last baby will be born just before my 37th birthday.

I have horrid pregnancies with HG. This pregnancy I’ve been to EGU 4x with bleeding, the latest was a subchorionic hematoma.

We weren’t even going to have a second child, but we both realised it was what we wanted. We went into it with eyes open knowing what we were getting into.

I have health anxiety and depression and know I cannot go through any more pregnancies. I’m ok with this decision now.

1st at 37, 2nd (and last) at 41. You're not too old. When I was in for both of mine, everyone either seemed to be very young (mid-late teens) or early to mid 40s - there were very few inbetween that (and I was in for a while especially with the 1st). So you definitely won't be on your own!

DC3 & 4 at a month short of 39. IVF + ICSI. IVF is not a long shot at all at your age, particularly as you've had a child before.

@Ilovewillow - had a failed cycle and FET at the end of last year and beginning of this year so feeling so deflated about putting myself through this and it amounting to nothing.

But then half of me thinks third time lucky! Already have a DS from FET in 2013.

dc 3 due (all being well) one month before my 44th birthday - I had my second dc six months prior to my 40th. I have had fertility issues - not had ivf but told unlikely to have any more children due to low ovarian reserve. This will be my last pregnancy whatever the outcome. Wishing you all the best x

My mum turned 40 while pregnant with my youngest Dsis, and was a "geriatric mother" when pregnant with me, the eldest of four!

I had my 4th at 29. I would ttc again up until 45 probably.

2nd at just turned 30. Have tried again without success. Will give up by 35.
