To think it's unfair on HRH Catherine

It's been on my mind that a spring wedding is one way to make sure all eyes are on you and not Catherine. As depending on the date chosen she'll either be extremely heavily pregnant or possibly postpartum, she's never really rushed to the celeb demands of having your pre-pregnancy body in 4 weeks. If she has HG that lasts till term she really won't enjoy the day, I remember one heavily pregnant Mum when I got married going home in the end to rest she was struggling that much.

It'll be a dilemma for William as he'll want to celebrate the day, as will Catherine. If she's heavily pregnant or post partum he got really overly drink, I think I'm right in thinking Catherine BF so she can't drink and needs somewhere private to feed. (Plus possibly an outfit that allows for ease of feeding)

I'm wondering if there's already an announcement due for once their married, that Harry & Meghan are expecting, thus the 4/5 month turn around if not quicker, going by my interpretations of Spring. It seems rather rushed.

I understand given Meghan's age it's now or never, I just feel it's a bit harsh on Catherine, as in any scenario she'll not overly get to celebrate the day. She's always been close to Harry, so I assume she'd want to take part and have a time similar to her wedding, partying till the small hours.

A summer wedding would give Catherine & William the luxury of not worrying if baby will arrive imminently, or that Catherine will be postpartum, knackered and really not feel like a part of the day.

I know it's Harry & Meghan's big day, but as I've said he's always been close to his brother and SIL. I honestly thought any announcement would be with the third pregnancy in mind.

I think we should all get paid £10 for writing this article. I would use mine towards a nice set of matching towels for the happy couple.

VanillaSugar · 01/12/2017 20:09

Kate is so hard she takes the skin off chicken (thank you Keanu Reeves)

JonSnowsWife · 01/12/2017 20:39

Was she without the children? shock

Grin

How scandalous. I'd ask if someone had told the daily mail but I too was also seen out without the DCs last week and don't want to draw attention to ones self. Grin

RoseWhiteTips · 01/12/2017 20:42

Thought that popping up at a station thing - with cameras trained on her - was a bit weird...

JonSnowsWife · 01/12/2017 21:01

I wonder why the shortened form of Catherine is Kate, by rights it should be Cate.

It's actually rather common. I knew/known of four Catherine's who were/are known as Kate. Two in my childhood, one being an aunty, and two I currently know who are friends.

This post makes me lose the will to live after I've read it!

FreshHorizons · 02/12/2017 06:57

I couldn't resist reading the OP (being curious to see what could possibly be unfair) - I couldn't see why anyone would think it/start it/be bothered. I can't be bothered to read the over 700 replies but it is such a shame that such a nonsensical thread was picked up by a newspaper- it gives such a negative view of Mumsnet contributers.

Lweji · 02/12/2017 07:49

Unlike the OP, the rest of the thread is worth reading.

Lweji · 02/12/2017 07:52

@Realjournal123 are you OK?

Think of how much joy the actual wedding will bring you.

JonSnowsWife · 02/12/2017 08:50

Why? It's a public global forum? @MNHQ have explained this a number of times before. They're simply reporting on a story. If people don't want the possibility of it ending up in a newspaper then either dont post it or heavily edit it so it's not identifying.

ZaraW · 02/12/2017 09:41

That newspaper article is just a filler they hadn't anything of interest to report (hopefully) because it's really not very interesting.

MissEliza · 02/12/2017 12:22

Wow this thread is long! I wasn't very keen on KM mainly because I can't understand a clearly intelligent girl with a degree from a top uni just sitting around waiting to get married. However she hasn't put a foot wrong since marrying William and they seem devoted to each other. I saw the picture in the DM today about 'wan' Kate looking 'down in the dumps.' How mean. She looks way better than me when I was in my third pregnancy. She was also on 'down' time. Leave her alone.
FWIW, I can't believe MM wore a black coat. It looks like the one my mum reserves for funerals. She needs some tips from the Queen about standing out in the crowd.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 02/12/2017 12:28

It's easy to not put s foot wrong when you're not doing much to start with.

JonSnowsWife · 02/12/2017 12:30

MissEliza" are you on about the one MM wore in Nottingham for the walkabout? That was navy blue not black.

I wear mainly black too because it covers my fat rolls lumps and bumps, it took me ages to get out the 'black is for funerals mentality' too (also passed down to me by my DM).

JonSnowsWife · 02/12/2017 12:33

Has anyone saw that photo doing the rounds of MM in a lineup with other ladies meeting PH at a charity event before she'd met him on the blind date? She was in blue and doing a charity run I think it was.

I saw it the other day and now it appears to have vanished from.the internet.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 02/12/2017 12:56

The world doesn't stop because you're pregnant. Not even if you're Kate Middleton

MissEliza · 02/12/2017 13:17

Yes but there's no need to make comments in the papers about how 'wan' she looks. Everyone knows she has difficult pregnancies.

lightlite · 02/12/2017 13:24

However she hasn't put a foot wrong since marrying William
and nor would we expect her to, what could she possibly do to put a foot wrong. She lives a life of unimaginable luxury, all paid for by other people's toil. I can't think of one good reason why she'd want to step out of line. She'd be an absolute fool to.

lightlite · 02/12/2017 13:33

How do we know she has difficult pregnancies. We only have the palaces word for that, it could be true but i never automatically believe everything they tell us. If it's true she has my sympathy but i'm always sceptical of anything that comes from their PR. They tend to tell us whatever suits their agenda.

derxa · 02/12/2017 13:35

what could she possibly do to put a foot wrong I lived through the Fergie years. There is plenty she could have done wrong Grin
Toe sucking for example.

SoupDragon · 02/12/2017 13:56

How do we know she has difficult pregnancies.

She was in hospital with HG during her first pregnancy. Did they make that up?

JonSnowsWife · 02/12/2017 14:00

How do we know she has difficult pregnancies.

Eh? Pretty sure she ended up in hospital when pg with Prince George. Did she manage to fool all the doctors too? Confused

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 02/12/2017 14:00

HG is serious, my friend ended up in hospital with it too.

TheCatsWhiskers · 02/12/2017 16:49

Maybe she'll join MN and write an AIBU about it Wink

EagerMom · 02/12/2017 20:17

Correct me if I'm wrong, thought this is about Megan and not Catherine. Considering that the brothers are very close, I'm sure they are both happy about the date.
