To think it's unfair on HRH Catherine

It's been on my mind that a spring wedding is one way to make sure all eyes are on you and not Catherine. As depending on the date chosen she'll either be extremely heavily pregnant or possibly postpartum, she's never really rushed to the celeb demands of having your pre-pregnancy body in 4 weeks. If she has HG that lasts till term she really won't enjoy the day, I remember one heavily pregnant Mum when I got married going home in the end to rest she was struggling that much.

It'll be a dilemma for William as he'll want to celebrate the day, as will Catherine. If she's heavily pregnant or post partum he got really overly drink, I think I'm right in thinking Catherine BF so she can't drink and needs somewhere private to feed. (Plus possibly an outfit that allows for ease of feeding)

I'm wondering if there's already an announcement due for once their married, that Harry & Meghan are expecting, thus the 4/5 month turn around if not quicker, going by my interpretations of Spring. It seems rather rushed.

I understand given Meghan's age it's now or never, I just feel it's a bit harsh on Catherine, as in any scenario she'll not overly get to celebrate the day. She's always been close to Harry, so I assume she'd want to take part and have a time similar to her wedding, partying till the small hours.

A summer wedding would give Catherine & William the luxury of not worrying if baby will arrive imminently, or that Catherine will be postpartum, knackered and really not feel like a part of the day.

I know it's Harry & Meghan's big day, but as I've said he's always been close to his brother and SIL. I honestly thought any announcement would be with the third pregnancy in mind.

Even MM's friends say that she "has sharp elbows." I don't think we are overinvested, but we are fond of Catherine and recognize troubles sadly ahead

Some serious projection there. 🤨

HadronCollider · 01/12/2017 08:30

abby you are seriously projecting. He gave her a compliment. She said thank you. I'm 40, DP gives me compliments, I say thank you or some other endearment. They are in love. Give it time. A few years and a couple of babies later and the conversation will be:

"She can do anything" and the reply will be "Don't say that, cause I'm f*king doing everything, looking after the kids, organising buffets, entertaining your in-laws and every bloody thing else while you swan off to Barbados on Royal f**ing engagements"Grin

WitchesHatRim · 01/12/2017 08:32

I think that it is just the beginning of Catherine being pushed out.

Completely disagree. Meghan won't be Queen, Catherine will.

The End.

EdmundCleverClogs · 01/12/2017 08:35

Abbylee I cannot believe you’ve just re-written the whole Royal family’s lives/narrative to fit into your own life story Grin. You don’t know them, why do people make up these ridiculous assumptions about people they only see through television and media? Absolutely bizarre to decide you ‘know’ any of them and their personal/future relationships with each other, it’s really quite embarrassing actually (for anyone who speaks like this).

EdmundCleverClogs · 01/12/2017 08:38

we are fond of Catherine and recognize troubles sadly ahead.

Is that a Royal ‘we’? Are you so over invested you actually speak like the Queen? Because most people don’t give a shiny shit about Kate or the rest of them, they have real life to actually worry about.

Tinycitrus · 01/12/2017 08:54

Mumsnet at its most batshit.

You have no idea what is really going on. What you know is the narrative built by the media. It’s not real.

HadronCollider · 01/12/2017 09:07

What I don't understand is why some people are already doing a Sun or Daily Fail Journo competition of Kate vs Meg. It's so misoynistic and just weird, like the wimmin folk must compete for public adoration. Silly posts about Kate being pushed out. I can see the future national discourse:

It's Classy Kate or Chic Meg, oh "Kate will win in the end!" "Meg will outshine Kate!!" I mean just why? Why not just see them both as women with different personalities and different strengths and weaknesses and why assume they won't get on together?

I am dreading the whole 'which wore it better' cheap journos to come, and the whole, "Kate is upset because Meg upstaged her by proceeding to tuck into her starter at family dinner first. An unidentified source close to the Royal household said....." followed by "A close unidentified friend of Meghan has sensationally revealed the Meghan is starting to feel pushed out by the Duchess of Cambridges household staff" and all the other tabloid shite to come. They did similar with Diana and Fergie.

Can't women just be seen as intelligent and, you know, confident in themselves and their own gifts and qualities? I notice little attention is ever given to what Kate actually does for eg. Most stories about what she wears. Can't they be known for their achievements?

Fekko · 01/12/2017 09:10

I'm waiting for the 'who has the better legs' a la May and Sturgeon.

Fekko That's exactly the type of shite we can look forward toSad

Lweji · 01/12/2017 09:18

Even MM's friends say that she "has sharp elbows."

That's good to know. Next time I invite her over, I'll sit her at the end of the table.

Although, that usually comes with being thin.
We could hold a sharp elbow competition on her hen do.

Do you think she should go for a low key affair, thinking of Katie, or go for a full weekend in Ibiza?

BertrandRussell · 01/12/2017 09:19

This is the most bonkers royal thread since the one shortly after George was born when all the "ooh, they are just like us" brigade were cooing over a photograph where if you squinted in a dim light it looked as if Catherine hadn't brushed out dry shampoo. it was all "aaaahh, bless, she must have been rushing to get ready- maybe the baby pooed at the last minute....."

Lweji · 01/12/2017 09:25

This is where the plot thickens. Trump may not be the only gatecrasher. And we may need Anne's dogs after all.

"Meghan Markle's estranged family say they'll 'gatecrash' her wedding to Prince Harry if they're left off the guestlist"

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 01/12/2017 09:40

"Meghan Markle's estranged family say they'll 'gatecrash' her wedding to Prince Harry if they're left off the guest list"

What are they going to do? Shimmy down a rope from a helicopter (like in Our Girl) hovering over Windsor Castle?

HadronCollider · 01/12/2017 09:52

A battering ram.

HadronCollider · 01/12/2017 10:01

Rather depressingly it's already happening with the looks comparision:

Wtf

PortiaCastis · 01/12/2017 10:31

Christ isn't it amazing how so many people know so much about someone they've met

Lweji · 01/12/2017 10:33

Shimmy down a rope from a helicopter (like in Our Girl) hovering over Windsor Castle?

Probably borrow the same equipment James Bond used for the Olympics. It worked for him. Grin

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 01/12/2017 11:07

Fortunately the Queen has those parachutes under lock & key!

Worldsworstcook · 01/12/2017 11:10

If they were ordinary common people it wouldn't be an issue. I'm happy to leave them to it but thrilled Harry has rebelled a bit against the establishment!

Lweji · 01/12/2017 11:11

Fortunately the Queen has those parachutes under lock & key!

You can never be too careful with weapons of mass intrusion.
