To Be Delighted for Harry and Meghan?

I know there are lots who have no time for the Royals but as a mother I'm delighted that Harry has found his match. I'm also quite thrilled that he's gone against the grain for his atypical princess! Think Diana would have been proud to see him follow his heart.

Bertrand- try researching,

BertrandRussell · 28/11/2017 09:44

Oh, go on. Tell me. Pick one.

What has she done that gives her the right to call herself a humanitarian?(

Creambun2 · 28/11/2017 09:44

areyou get your (over invested) head out of meghans bottom.

Creambun2 · 28/11/2017 09:45

It's easy to say you care about problems in Africa then after meeting a few locals then pop to a luxury tree top hotel in Kenya. Royals are the worst hypocrities

BertrandRussell · 28/11/2017 09:46

Any more than any other well intentioned person, I mean. It's a very strange way to identify yourself.

BishBoshBashBop · 28/11/2017 09:46

Creambun2 you seem to be on every thread trolling about how much you dislike royalty. We get it.

Creambun2 · 28/11/2017 09:48

bish just as many are on every thread gushing over the royal family. People have different views you know, or do you thing criticising the royal family is sedition?

BertrandRussell · 28/11/2017 09:55

I really don't like it when members of the Royal Family are praised to the hilt for doing something perfectly normal. It's like when fathers are thought of as super dads for changing a nappy.

And the "humanitarian" thing really, really bugs me The world is full of people working tirelessly and unsung for charities who would not dream of using the word about themselves.

BishBoshBashBop · 28/11/2017 09:57

People have different views you know

You don't say. You have repeated yours adnauseum.

derxa · 28/11/2017 10:16

Harry can't help who he falls in love with. Say he had chosen someone extremely ugly and stupid who had never worked at all I can imagine the comments. I don't even like MM that much but she's just a person with feelings just like the rest of us. Although going by some of the comments some of you have hearts of stone. Why does it all bother you so much?

malificent7 · 28/11/2017 11:10

Im not into the royals but they dont deserve vitriol. Harry was born into it and uses his ( reluctant) status to highlight good causes. Good on him.

BertrandRussell · 28/11/2017 11:12

"Im not into the royals but they dont deserve vitriol. Harry was born into it and uses his ( reluctant) status to highlight good causes. Good on him."

  1. They are not getting vitriol.
  2. He could renounce the status today if he wanted to.
Battleax · 28/11/2017 11:13

"Vitriol" meaning any critique whatsoever of any kind?

WitchesHatRim · 28/11/2017 11:18

Harry can't help who he falls in love with.

True. Difference is these days he is 'allowed' to marry that person.

How different would it have been if King Edward could have married Wallace Simpson? Princess Margaret marry who she wanted to? Charles marry Camilla? Andrew marry Koo Stark?

If they had been able to maybe there wouldn't have been so many divorces?

MidnightAura · 28/11/2017 11:29

I disagree. He could always step down. According to Harry no one wants to be King anyway. But funnily enough I don’t see him walking away from having a luxurious life funded by other people.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 28/11/2017 11:35

He would still have a luxurious life if he stepped away his mothers trust funds alone would see to that and think of how much money he could make for himself

And he would never ever be left alone by the press and being a royal protects him and he can live in that bubble

I am not a royalist and I used to think they could just walk away but their life isn’t really their own never has been and never will be it wasn’t for Diana. That isn’t to say that their life is hard in many ways it’s much easier but the choices they have are not the choices you and I have

WitchesHatRim · 28/11/2017 11:39

True but he also can make lots of choices none of us would ever be able to just because of who he is.

NameChanger22 · 28/11/2017 11:44

I don't mind watching the drama of the Royals unfold, to a very limited extent. I just don't want to pay for it. We can't afford them. When I heard the news I thought "do we have to pay for that one too?"

keffie12 · 28/11/2017 17:45

I am happy for them. Both Wills and Harry had so much young life misery and continue to have to deal with daily the loss of there mom in many ways I am delighted that Harry has now found happiness too. Whether you Love or loathe the Royals and likewise with Diana she was still their Mom whom they lost very publicly and had to deal with publicly

HousefulOfBoysNow · 28/11/2017 17:54

I'm nothing more than a little amused tbh.

You just know there's probably some traditionalist royal aide somewhere in the Palace having an absolute shit fit over this Grin

Battleax · 28/11/2017 17:57

Dozens, I should think Smile

HousefulOfBoysNow · 28/11/2017 18:16

The only thing that would improve it for me would be William abdicating (or whatever he would need to do now to step down).

Then the Palace could really panic - the heirs to the throne being the future mixed race children of a divorced American actress...i imagine that would cause quite an internal 'stir'.

ALittleBitofEverything111 · 28/11/2017 18:22

Has anyone seen the Royal spoof comedy The Windsor’s with Harry Enfield?I’m hoping they make a new series including Meghan. It’s hilarious.

caringcarer · 28/11/2017 18:37

I am pleased Harry has found someone special of his own. I have heard him give interviews when he was roaming around commonwealth before where he said he envied William and how wished he had someone to share with and he would like kids. Now he has his wish and I think that is good news. I shall be watching royal wedding in the spring.
