To think gender alters the perception of what is said on MN?

I use a username that clearly identifies my gender (and is also my biological sex). Often I feel that if people assumed I was a woman their response would be different. Or if you swapped the genders around some people's responses would be completely different?

I would just like to clarify that when I said ‘NAM do that on here’ I meant ‘NAM choose a gendered nn. I’m yet to see a poster with an obviously male nn just blend in and not make a big deal about being man.

I don't really care if men use mumsnet although I like that it's mostly women. I do find the idea that MN would be enriched by more men completely laughable. Is the OP ever coming back I wonder?

If people actually want to blend they choose a neutral user name. Simples.

@Elendon - I've been offline for two hours, and have just seen what's happened, see my PM to you. Hopefully, MNHQ will withdraw my earlier post.

Elendon · 02/12/2017 12:11

It's fine and now resolved.

DadDadDad · 02/12/2017 12:24

Thanks, Elendon. I'm glad you got it sorted.

Elendon · 02/12/2017 12:25

We both sorted it out. DadDadDad.
