To ask my neighbour opposite to close her curtains?

Sparklyshoes16 · 21/11/2017 23:42

Last few days we’ve noticed a bit of odd behaviour from our neighbour opposite. She sleeps with her curtains open all night and then gets undressed/dressed with them open in the morning. When she’s going to bed she’s starkers! We’ve resorted to leaving our bedroom curtains closed all day everyday as she’s been naked during the day Confused

My husband opened our curtains this morning after we’d got dressed etc to find her stood staring across butt naked...husband went bright red and nearly ripped the curtains down pulling them shut...we’ve asked our neighbour next door but one if they’ve noticed ...they’ve said yes and asked her to close her curtains or put net curtains up etc she said she didn’t realise but this morning she’s starkers again! Aibu to think she should know better and at least close her curtains when getting dressed?

Op, are you honestly trying to say you worry she's going to be the victim of a sexual assault because you have seen her naked?!

WonderLime · 22/11/2017 11:56

Wonderlime I’m confused I haven’t given out my address!!

I didn’t say you had. I was responding to those who were saying Google Earth would show more than your pictures (it’s an irrelevant point as we don’t know the address to search Google Earth).

I do think you have a point to be annoyed if it really is her deliberately standing at the window in the nude several times a day. I don’t think you have a point if it’s a fleeting occurrence whilst she is dressing/undressing. However I think you should remove the pictures. She is still entitled to some privacy regardless of how much flesh she’s flashing to your husband & neighbours.

RoseWhiteTips · 22/11/2017 11:58

She sounds dodgy.

Bluntness100 · 22/11/2017 11:59

How do you know the ops address?? And you can know some ones address and google it on google earth and have a look. Just like you can walk down the street, know the address and have a look too.

Honestly bewildered at those who have more of a problem with a random window than they do with someone repeatedly and purposefully displaying their genitalia to school kids. What the hell is the world coming to.

Nicknacky · 22/11/2017 12:00

It is completely different from Google Earth as Google Earth doesn't tell you her age, she lives alone, what time she goes to bed at and her habits when she undresses!

Get the photo removed, for goodness sake.

Bluntness100 · 22/11/2017 12:03

No, it doesn’t, you can use the electoral role for that, or just stand outside her house and work it out. Seriously get a grip.

I’m fairly sure if it was your neighbour repeatedly standing in front of his window getting his cock out in front of your young daughters you’d have something to say about it.

LurkingHusband · 22/11/2017 12:04

Posting pics the one with the bush is our view from the lounge the one without is our bedroom view!

Sorry, is this Mumsnet, or Viz ?

Nicknacky · 22/11/2017 12:04

You keep mentioning genatalia. Now cocks.

But that's not what is happening.

FucksakeCuntingFuckingTwats · 22/11/2017 12:04

NickNacky yes and the ops neighbours not wondering around unaware people can see. She's been told and is stood stark naked at the window knowing people including children can see her. She's as much a creep as the guy in my previous post.

Nicknacky · 22/11/2017 12:05

Sorry that was to bluntness

Bluntness100 · 22/11/2017 12:07

But that's not what is happening

She’s standing stark naked in front of her window. The ops guests had to move because their kids could see and they were uncomfortable. At one point do you think being naked on full view involves wearing your knickers?

Nicknacky · 22/11/2017 12:10

You used the words genatalia. So her labia, clitoris can be seen by the neighbours who are in a room a floor below can see them?

And I find it hard to believe that guests are all sitting staring out the window, what kind of seating arrangement do people have?

The woman is doing nothing wrong. I'm naked in my bedroom when I dry my hair, I don't give a shit if the neighbours see me.

Nicknacky · 22/11/2017 12:11

My first sentence makes zero sense as I repeat myself but you get the jist!

WonderLime · 22/11/2017 12:15

How do you know the ops address??

Again, where did I say that?

Nobody mentioned cocks on display and daughters watching. This is a woman. So stop with all these irrelevant points.

I have agreed that the OP may have a problem if it’s deliberately done at several times of the day. That does not negate the fact that taking pictures of someone’s window and putting them on a very public site with high traffic is a horrid thing to do.

You are the only person trying to start a competition on which is worse.

Bluntness100 · 22/11/2017 12:15

I'm naked in my bedroom when I dry my hair, I don't give a shit if the neighbours see me

Then I guess we all understand now why you’re posting as you are.

Get dressed or shut your curtains ffs and stop being weird.

Nicknacky · 22/11/2017 12:17

bluntness It's you that has the issue with nakedness. There is nothing weird at all about being naked in your own bedroom.

Bluntness100 · 22/11/2017 12:17

Nobody mentioned cocks on display and daughters watching. This is a woman

She specifically said kids, she didn’t mention gender. And what it’s ok if it’s a woman but not a man???

Bluntness100 · 22/11/2017 12:19

bluntness It's you that has the issue with nakedness. There is nothing weird at all about being naked in your own bedroom

There is if the curtains are open and the neighbours can see you. I’m not in thr least inhibited, but I draw the line at flashing my neighbours and not caring, if that means I have issues, then that’s me and most of the adult population.

WonderLime · 22/11/2017 12:24

Where did I say it was okay because she was a women? I think you have serious comprehension skills.

I said that this is a women so cocks that daughters can see if irrelevant. It’s not a man so no need to extrapolate the situation. We are discussing the situation at hand.

Again, where did I say it was okay in the situation the OP describes? I said she may have a problem if it really is done deliberately several times a day.

However, if she is just dressing for the day by the window then it is the OP’s problem.

And I’m sorry that you find naked bodies so shameful. However I’m sure you could try some CBT to reframe your thinking.

PiffleandWiffle · 22/11/2017 12:31

In fact a more valid police complaint would be her reporting g you for posting pics of her bedroom window on the web.

Oh don't be so bloody sanctimonious, it's a window, not a picture of her baps.

In fact, if you go on Google Streetview you can see everyone's windows!!!

Angelwendy · 22/11/2017 12:31

How can any of you say it's not weird behaviour to stand at the window naked for a prolonged period of time when she knows neighbour's can see right in? If she was just briefly looking out the window or getting dressed etc then fine. But to stand there for a while is just weird. I would feel very uncomfortable if a neighbour (of either sex) was doing that repeatedly. I'd feel like they were getting sexual kicks out of it. Some people get turned on by flashing

PiffleandWiffle · 22/11/2017 12:33

It is completely different from Google Earth as Google Earth doesn't tell you her age, she lives alone, what time she goes to bed at and her habits when she undresses!

Oh grow up!! If you'd bought some blinds your window wouldn't be all over the thread ya weirdo!! Grin

Bluntness100 · 22/11/2017 12:34

I'd feel like they were getting sexual kicks out of it. Some people get turned on by flashing

Yup, and some of them are clearly posting on this thread trying to say anyone who doesn’t do it is in some way repressed,😂

missingmonkey · 22/11/2017 12:36

Oh god I hope it's not my mum!

She genuinely believes nobody will be looking and they can't see in upstairs. Lights on and she will happily dress/undress. Huffs and puffs at me for my pearl clutching

I've fallen out with her over it saying I bet they can see in

Angelwendy · 22/11/2017 12:37

I would genuinely be freaked out if my neighbour opposite was just standing full frontal naked and staring across the road to my window. It would just feel like they are wanting me to see them and get turned on by it. If my neighbour was walking around the room or sitting there doing their hair/makeup or something then I'd just shut my curtains and not think anything of it.
And I'm not a prude - I go to nudist beaches etc.
