To think that if I was Serena Williams, I'd be a bit disappointed in my wedding photos?

From the description, it's clear she went all out, which is fair enough when you've earned millions through your own hard work. And it all sounds incredible, but the pictures in Vogue don't really do it justice, in my opinion. I've seen much cheaper weddings look better (just in terms of framing and how you take the shot etc). Unless she kept all the best pictures private? Or she had multiple photographers and this is just one view?

I think she looks lovely. She clearly put a lot of thought into her wedding and it seems so unkind to critise a bride for how she looks on her wedding day especially when she has only just had a baby!

Serena gets a lot of mean comments on her apprance. A male althlete would not get these comments. Because she is black and female she gets a lot of stick .

She is one of the greatest tennis players of all time and there a few sports people ( male or female) who have achieved what she has. If you think you look nicer in a frock than her she probably couldn't give a monkeys.

No one would start a thread saying Andy Murray looked crap in his wedding photos.

Never has the statement ‘Money can’t buy class’ been more true. I bet Anna Wintour was grimacing!

SuperBeagle · 21/11/2017 22:35

I bet Anna Wintour was grimacing!

She'd be a hypocrite if she did, considering she's resided in the backsides of the Kardashian family for the last 5+ years.

madeyemoodysmum · 21/11/2017 22:37

As a wedding photographer myself I think they're really nice I'm not keen on the dress though

thestuffofnightmares · 21/11/2017 22:37

i dont know if this helps but my boibs are probs about the same size/bigger than Serena's and i can tell you that wedding dresses are not designed to hold cleavage. Unless you wear collar to ankle you always look like everything is busting out - especially if you've just had a wee baby. Speaking as a member of the big boobed siaterhood it really irritates me when people tell me there is roo much flesh on show. That's becauae there is more flesh to show and just because i look like I'm trying to steal a couple of basketballs doesnt mean I should dress like a nun. Anyway. for what it's worth i think that the photographer has not got a great eye- bad angles and some of the photos are squint. I think it would look v different if you were there. I think she looks like the champ she is. it is amazing to see big boobed women as successful athletes- that is a surprisingly rare and inspiring thing to someone who was told that they had no chance of being a swimmer, model, or dancer becauae they were the wrong shape. Serena- You are doing amazing sweetie, thank you for everything!

NorthernLurker · 21/11/2017 22:38

Lovely wedding, v loved up couple and a gorgeous baby. Blessings for their life together.

pallisers · 21/11/2017 23:50

Money can't buy class! What is class-less about a very nice, loving, hard-working, high achieving couple getting married with family and friends there to support them?

Is it that she doesn't fit the "fairy princess" view of brides? Is it that she and several of her bridesmaids/guests are bigger than society deems appropriate for women (google the way the Williams sisters have been treated by the media in this regard - I can see why she wouldn't care, she has already had it all said about her) Is it that they dared to celebrate her amazing, historical achievements in sports? A woman! Celebrating her achievements - how classless. Would you think Andy whatshisname was classless if he had little tennis rackets somewhere in his wedding?

Seriously, this thread ...

CheapSausagesAndSpam · 21/11/2017 23:51

Nightmares well said!

What are larger women meant to do!? Covering big busts up to the chin can be very unflattering on a large bust.

CheapSausagesAndSpam · 21/11/2017 23:53

Pallisers you said it! They're not skinny and white with small chests and blonde hair so certain elements of society think they can sneer and don't see their beauty because it's not societies "ideal".

Fuck em'!

OlennasWimple · 21/11/2017 23:56

Strapless dresses suit very few people (including skinny, white blondes with flat chests Hmm ) but they really don't flatter larger busted women at all. There are so many beautiful dresses out there, particularly when you have a $2m budget, I just hope that it looked better in person than the photos they have released suggest.

But regardless of the dress, she looks beautiful and radiant and happy

IamNotDarling · 22/11/2017 00:01

She looks fucking amazing! Gorgeous woman glowing on her wedding day.

PrimalLass · 22/11/2017 00:07

I love her. I have a tennis playing daughter and Serena is a huge inspiration. She looks beautiful and happy.

Ski4130 · 22/11/2017 00:18

I can't rip someone else's wedding pictures to shreds, I'm sure mine wouldn't stand up to close scrutiny.

bellabelly · 22/11/2017 00:20

She looks really happy.

ferrier · 22/11/2017 00:31

I can't believe she spent $2.6 miĺlion on a dress which really doesn't suit her. If she wanted to show boobage she could have gone for a deep V and a straight skirt would have flattered her superb physique much more.
Venus looks stunning.

ShowMePotatoSalad · 22/11/2017 04:26

It's pretty obvious from about the third photo in that the theme of the wedding was fashion/catwalk and all the theatre that goes with it. It's 2017 and they're doing something a bit different and more modern.

differentnameforthis · 22/11/2017 05:00

Oh this thread is horrid! Well, in fairness, so is SW.

I can't believe a rape apologist get's so much fawning on MN.

WilyMinx · 22/11/2017 05:15

I don't think the photos are badly taken. Just that the venue is rather bare, and the harsh white lighting isn't helping.
The simple white drapes around the walls and plain backdrop for the group photos look very austere. I think flowers everywhere would have been able to transform the place.

BatShite · 22/11/2017 05:29

I don't rate the dress much, but I don't tend to like big puffy white ones, its just personal taste. Mine was really..quite plain. Many would say boring, but it was what I wanted.

Besides this, she looks extremely happy and thats what matters really.

Lanaa · 22/11/2017 06:03

Some utter cuntery on this thread. I agree with @VladmirsPoutine. The micro aggressions are out in force. I’m just waiting for someone to call her or her wedding ghetto or express surprise that a rich white man married her. We will have a full house then.

The80sweregreat · 22/11/2017 06:25

I thought she looked great -
i never show anyone my wedding pics as it was the tail end of the 80s in a cheap dress from a sale and i looked shit to be honest! ( was never a girlie girl or well groomed!) I would destroy them if i could!! lol.

curtainpolehistory · 22/11/2017 07:24

Some of you sound like catty, jealous bitches.

She'd an amazing and successful sport woman. Rich. Happily married with a new baby. Do you think she gives a fuck what you think of her wedding photos?

specialsubject · 22/11/2017 08:15

I doubt she does, but the first dress is still awful. Fact, not jealousy.

I wouldn't wear that if you paid me two million dollars.

ShowMePotatoSalad · 22/11/2017 08:21

It's not fact though is it? It's an opinion.

TossDaily · 22/11/2017 09:19

Are you saying all black women have big breasts, lifeisasongworthsinging?

That's a bit of a generalisation, isn't it? One might almost say racist.
