To think that if I was Serena Williams, I'd be a bit disappointed in my wedding photos?

From the description, it's clear she went all out, which is fair enough when you've earned millions through your own hard work. And it all sounds incredible, but the pictures in Vogue don't really do it justice, in my opinion. I've seen much cheaper weddings look better (just in terms of framing and how you take the shot etc). Unless she kept all the best pictures private? Or she had multiple photographers and this is just one view?

The catwalk was tacky and self-absorbed in my opinion.

It's amazing when a bride can be described as "tacky and self-absorbed" for walking down the aisle at her own wedding.

Anyone up for calling her "attention-seeking" yet?

It's a wedding. It's her wedding. She's allowed to walk down the friggin' aisle, ffs.

FlowerPot1234 · 21/11/2017 14:57

FreeSpiritsBadAttitude
FlowerPot.. You've also called another woman tacky or awful and posted comments made on another thread
Could you provide evidence where I have called a woman tacky on another thread (or even here)?
OK, you said her hair and dress looked awful and the catwalk was tacky. Totally exonerated then.

I see, so you lied. An apology would be appropriate, don't you think?

I said a catwalk was tacky. Are you seriously saying nobody in your worldview is allowed to comment on a catwalk? Shock I said her dress and hair looked awful. I am allowed as a human being to form opinions of things I see. She has looked great in other clothes, and her hair has looked far better. What precisely is so wrong? You don't say, you just express outrage.

Very convenient FreeSpiritsBadAttitude that you edit out the rest of what I wrote.

I think the bride did not look her best
The guests nevertheless looked like they had a good time, and most people looked happy and had fun and their smiles were nice to see in the photos.

I wonder why you carefully took all that out? Hmm Grin

Tiddlywinks63 · 21/11/2017 14:58

I loved her second dress and I would love her mum's dress (that's one delicious baby!)
Serena looks very, very happy, beautiful photos of her.

God almighty, we have posters now who can't tell the difference between some raised flooring and Serena Williams. Hmm

JaneEyre70 · 21/11/2017 15:00

I think they all look fabulous apart from the fact that none of their dresses appear to be very well fitted around the bust. To be fair, there are very few women that look good in a strapless wedding dress - no one over a C cup can really carry it off. She's clearly very happy though and that's all that matters, I see a lot of joy in those photos.

LivLemler · 21/11/2017 15:02

I think the photos are fab! Everyone looks so happy, and despite the star power, it has the vibe of a lovely, relaxed, fun family wedding. Also, so refreshing to see photos that don't look like they've been taken with a bloody instagram filter.

ArcheryAnnie · 21/11/2017 15:04

FlowerPot I apologise most profusely at not understanding how a catwalk can be "self-absorbed". I didn't know that catwalks were sentient enough to have a self to be self-absorbed.

Apology accepted.

That really made me laugh. This has got silly now, posters falling over each other to say how they can't fault anything. Grin

BadTasteFlump · 21/11/2017 15:13

Being a wedding guest with so much boobage out is bad form. Beyonce wouldn't have had an invite to my wedding.

derxa · 21/11/2017 15:14

She's one of the greatest sports stars of all time. These comments wouldn't look out of place in the Daily Mail comments section.

BadTasteFlump · 21/11/2017 15:17

And just realised she was on a catwalk - what's that about? Confused

For all those who think we shouldn't judge - oh please Hmm

Faffandahalf · 21/11/2017 15:17

I am here only to comment on the photography as per the OP:

Why are they posing for these super 80's/90's family shots with that wrinkled blue fabric in the background that is used for school photos?!

If I was paying thousands for a photographer I would want some interesting photography especially the group shots. You can even see the edges of the background fabric and all the surrounded stuff so that it makes it look weirdly cheap and like they are having a photo in a mall or something. Very weird.

Faffandahalf · 21/11/2017 15:21

Annie Liebowitz (sp) knows how to take a group shot!

AngelaTwerkel · 21/11/2017 15:22

"These comments wouldn't look out of place in the Daily Mail comments section."

Agreed. And DM commenters are also fond of the "it's my opinion" line that somehow suggests that you're allowed to be as nasty as possible because free speech.

user1493759849 · 21/11/2017 15:22

The pics are shite.

And the bride looked dreadful. Was she wearing trainers? WTAF? Confused

JMO.

PollytheDolly · 21/11/2017 15:23

I see happiness.

princessconsuelobananahammock · 21/11/2017 15:30

I think they’re great. Catwalk/aisle - what’s the difference?! They all look super happy - I bet it was an amazing day. If you can’t go all out on your wedding, when can you?!

reachforthestarseveryday · 21/11/2017 15:30

What a lot of guests are showing too much cleavage! My thought after seeing the pics was: boobs. Too many of 'em.

Serena looks beautiful and happy. Tricky to find a wedding dress that works with breastfeeding...

Her mum looks lovely with the baby. The baby is gorgeous!

FlowerPot1234 · 21/11/2017 15:31

Faffandahalf They're brilliant! (oops, am I allowed to express that opinion?)

MsJuniper · 21/11/2017 15:48

I think she looks amazing and the whole thing looks weirdly normal if expensive. Everyone looks delighted and it’s much less posey or stilted than many a celeb wedding.

Oh and the cape... so beautiful.

oldlaundbooth · 21/11/2017 15:58

Oh I'm sure she gives no fucks whatsoever about what we think.

Hardly the point of the thread though.

oldlaundbooth · 21/11/2017 16:01

Quick Google tells me she is worth $170 million.

Money just cannot buy taste.

raisinsarenottheonlyfruit · 21/11/2017 16:09

Flowerpot if you're going to trawl my old posts and put them here, you could at least mention what thay're about.

Why can you raisinsarenottheonlyfruit form an opinion about something you see and express a preference:

9-nov
I don't hate it but her coat looks a bit ... safe.
The main clothes are fine. But the coat doesn't look very Dr-Whoy to me.
I'd prefer a darker look.

This is a post about the new Dr Who, a fictional character. Her clothes have been designed by a wardrobe department. They are symbolic and an essential part of Dr Who.

That you can't tell the difference between making bitchy comments about a real person on her wedding day in a public forum and critiquing a the wardrobe of TV character is very telling!

As for trawling my old posts to try to 'catch me out' ... do you seriously think that's reasonable behaviour? Okaaaaay Hmm

raisinsarenottheonlyfruit · 21/11/2017 16:13

These comments wouldn't look out of place in the Daily Mail comments section.

I reckon we have a fair few posters here these days who discovered us through the Daily Mail - they post enough ripped off posts from here don't they?

People used to the DM comments section and - exactly like flowerpots - can't see the issue with bitching about people - "they put their picture in the public domain / they're a celebrity - so what''s the problem?!" - that kind of attitude. It sucks IMO.
