The relationship with my DH ex girlfriend and him is strained . They have a DD of 6. A new boyfriend has recently come on to the scene and staying over in the house with my DH DD which is fine but the ex is refusing to let DH know anything about him . Where does he stand?
Please help if you can .

Battleax u have no idea of the thread I was on and I didn't say she kept the money I asked do u think ? Very different

Olivetappas · 21/11/2017 13:42

And yes if step fathers have concerns there is a reason the law is in place Smile

Battleax · 21/11/2017 13:43

Rare cases battleax please do ur research it is not rare

Most people do not harm children.

Most parents are effective in protecting their children.

"Child abuse is epidemic" scaremongering is really unhelpful.

Nicknacky · 21/11/2017 13:43

olive your last post makes no sense?

Rachie1973 · 21/11/2017 13:46

Olivetappas

You don't seem to know how Sarahs law works.

You need a name for a start,

then it will tell you..... yes he has a conviction. No he does not have a conviction,

That's it, nothing more.

Battleax · 21/11/2017 13:47

"My ex has a new boyfriend" isn't a safeguarding concern in itself. If everyone uses Sarah's Law on that basis, the system will collapse under the weight of enquiries.

Rachie1973 · 21/11/2017 13:47

Olivetappas you also seem to think it was designed around the 'stepparent' issue. Another mistake.

Olivetappas · 21/11/2017 13:48

You are completely missing the point

Because it does happen
And that alone is why ppl do checks

Olivetappas · 21/11/2017 13:49

U keep putting words in my mouth

Sarah’s Law, or the Child Sex Offender Disclosure Scheme allows parents, carers and guardians to ask the police to tell them if someone has a criminal record for child sexual offences.
The scheme is for any member of the public who wants to find out if an individual in contact with a child has a record of child sexual offences.
I copied and posted that

Nicknacky · 21/11/2017 13:49

And it only tells you if that person has a conviction so it's not foolproof.

Olivetappas · 21/11/2017 13:50

An individual in contact with a child

Most 'ppl' don't check out their ex's partners without a good reason.

Paranoia like yours makes The Daily Mail sell well.

Olivetappas · 21/11/2017 13:51

And being naive like you is why it can happen
I'd rather be aware

We know, and we keep telling you that 'Sarah's law' will provide little information aside from an existing sexual conviction. And you still won't be able to demand anymore information. Plus you need a name.

Nicknacky · 21/11/2017 13:52

Who is being naive?

Olivetappas · 21/11/2017 13:53

Criminal conviction also

Battleax · 21/11/2017 13:53

Madness.

Also really destructive of existing relationships, coparenting and so on.

Olivetappas · 21/11/2017 13:53

As I said a parent does have a right.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 21/11/2017 13:54

It's actually none of his business

sadly it IS. male abusers are well known for targeting single women with young children, its a proven and miserable statistic.

now he obviously cant say this... but she is BU

Rachie1973 · 21/11/2017 13:54

Olivetappas
Criminal conviction also

Only child sex offences,

Nicknacky · 21/11/2017 13:55

Ok, so how are you going to make the ex partner name the person she's sleeping with?

Olivetappas · 21/11/2017 13:56

Really naive no
Cautious. Yes
Paranoid maybe

Nicknacky · 21/11/2017 13:57

olive who were you referring to when you said they were being naive?

Olivetappas · 21/11/2017 13:58

Why is Sarah's law in place ?
