To think nobody likes sprouts. And anyone who says they do is just doing it for attention

I mean they're horrible. People have tried to help them by adding other things to make them not taste like sprouts, but let's just admit that they were never designed to be eaten. The taste is probably some evolutionary defence mechanism that has inexplicably not worked coz humans are daft enough to eat through the disgusting taste.

Anyone that says they like them is lying to us and themselves and is just looking for attention.

They’re not just for Christmas here (Canada). We can have sprouty yumminess all year round. Favourite recipe at the moment is toss in olive oil & balsamic and put under the grill for a while. I will have to try adding bacon.

Hotheadwheresthecoldbath · 20/11/2017 00:06

I love sprouts,I can eat six and no farting.Any more than that though....

Heartofglass12345 · 20/11/2017 00:06

I do. I dont get why anyone makes a big thing about not liking them and people who do are weird Confused i have tasted a lot worse than sprouts!

SoleBizzz · 20/11/2017 00:10

I used to hate them but DH loves them and I like them now as he knows how to cook them well (they are usually very overcooked imo). We eat them all winter long! Mind you I do usually “let” DH have the lions share of them.

KittensForBreakfast · 20/11/2017 00:44

Not true! And if you think they taste horrible you've clearly been cooking them wrong!

Worriedobsessive · 20/11/2017 00:45

I love sprouts but they give me gale force wind. I’m virtually self propelled after a dish of them.

Smithy84 · 20/11/2017 00:58

I love brussell sprouts

Nutellalovesme · 20/11/2017 01:04

Sprouts are deliciousSmile

KC225 · 20/11/2017 02:37

Sprouts are the devil's gouged rotten eyeballs spat straight from hell

HateSummer · 20/11/2017 02:48

Sprouts are lovely. Mini cabbages. I don’t want attention for this as I’m an introvert. My kids and dh love them too; we’re a sprouty family Grin.

OtterInDisgrace · 20/11/2017 03:11

Some people really do love sprouts. I know of such a person and they genuinely love the fucking things.

Op, you may be a super taster:

I love sprouts!

Jerseysilkvelour · 20/11/2017 05:34

I like sprouts too. Lightly cooked, yum. They make the most delicious soup aswell but you have to add them last and only cook for a few minutes then you get a really lovely creamy soup when it's blended. Let them boil for too long though and you get Fart Soup.

I am quite pleased when sprouts stay showing up in the shops though, but I am also glad when they leave the shops in mid January aswell.

ZombieVampireHedgehog · 20/11/2017 05:36

I love sprouts, I love the feeling when you chew them. Squidgy baby cabbages.

TheMasterNotMargarita · 20/11/2017 05:39

Raw sprouts = delicious.
Cooked sprouts = devil grapes.
I used to make myself eat one every Christmas for some strange reason until I realised a few years ago that I'm an adult and I don't have to...Hmm

BeetrootTart · 20/11/2017 05:46

I love them. I think a lot of people don't know how to cook them, which doesn't help.

Frozen sprouts are disgusting.

They must be fresh and they must be roasted from uncooked with olive oil, salt and garlic. No boiling. No sogginess. No bitterness.

Quiddichcup · 20/11/2017 05:48

Bloody love sprouts!

DueNov · 20/11/2017 05:51

My oh loves sprouts. They're awful

n0ne · 20/11/2017 05:53

I love sprouts and hate attention Wink

MurmmersShow · 20/11/2017 06:05

Love em.

Roast in coconut oil and honey and red chilli flakes, season... Oooh so good.

user1471517900 · 20/11/2017 06:51

This thread has made me realize just how far the patriarchy is ingrained in us. Like we can't even make a delicious meal without adding something horrible to it. Then worse still....minimising the issue and pretending all is fine. Good to see some people have opened their eyes to the truth though.

AngeloMysterioso · 20/11/2017 07:10

I like sprouts, specially if they’re cooked with lardons or pancetta. Scoop up some gravy with them, yummers!
