I need opinions but have no idea how to upload a pic here - using phone app.

Shaving cut. Or those shaving pimples that bleed.

Looks like he has got blood on his collar, and then half-arsed washed it off

If that was the case he would have told the OP what happened, wouldn't he?

I remember another thread just like this one too.

It doesn't look overly suspicious to me OP. Clearly you have other reasons that are adding to your suspicions though. All you can do really is keep your eyes open isn't it? I hope it is innocent Thanks

Yes he offered no explanation for the mark whatsoever. I think I have no choice but to sit on this for now. It’s a combination of little things here and there that have made me this way. Then when asked he acts like I am crazy which perhaps I am but then that’s gaslighting isn’t it.

Did it come out in the wash OP? Someone said the red dust marks do but in my experience make up is a bugger to get out especially after a few days. Also given that the mark is so obvious isn’t the fact he put it in the wash a sign of innocence? Surely he would have “lost it” or washed it himself if he’d seen that... you’re in a horrible spot but be careful you don’t let the green eyed monster take you over as that’s terribly damaging.

It would be under the collar if it was worn though right?

Report
TSSDNCOP · 08/11/2017 11:14

Looking at the seams: wouldn't the mark be under the collar? So he'd have had to have the collar flipped up to get it there, which is an odd way to be wearing your shirt whilst snogging.

To me that is very clearly makeup, it looks like someone has had their head on his shoulder/ intimate hug
Trust your gut and do some digging

Tough one. I like the red dust idea, I think it's a strong one. I also believe in gut-feeling. Forensic testing seems a step too far...! I don't think you have enough to go on this time, sorry. Maybe it's completely innocent.

OP
On iOS 11:
Settings > privacy > location services > system services > significant locations

However it may require a password for that.

If it’s ios 10 I don’t think a password is needed, from memory.

If you can do it it’ll bring up a list of everywhere the phone / Apple Watch has been and the dates and times.

could it be transfer of dye from a silk tie he was wearing?

Report
Eden80 · 08/11/2017 12:10

It’s on the actual crease of the collar and just below it.

Yes it came out in the wash on a 40 setting.

Thanks for the location settings thing - didn’t have a clue about that.

If it was blood it would be a darker red by now, almost a rusty colour. Hope you get to the bottom of it, OP.

He had a good look at it himself and offered no alternative explanation. Just acted like I was being ridiculous for even asking

Hmm. Other people have mentioned dusty soil, but if it was red where he is he'd have noticed it wouldn't he? I know when I see unusual coloured soil it sticks in my mind, but maybe that's just me. And if it's as dusty as people say surely it wouldn't be the first time some of it has stuck to his skin/clothes? So him not even mentioning red soil as a possibility could seem odd. I don't know though.

What is a little concerning is making out you're ridiculous for wondering what it is. You wouldn't be unreasonable to hope he's faithful to you when he's working way considering how rife it is for people to cheat in those circs, so he should be more understanding. But I suppose all you can do now is become more tech savvy and keep an open mind and eyes.

Not really, I used to often have to work away from home & I would have been pretty peed off if DH was checking my clothes & questioning where certain marks came from & would have pointed out he was being ridiculous - not because I was cheating, but because I WASN’T

Looks like blusher to me.

There was a thread a while ago but the marks were at the bottom of the shirt and op suspected oral sex.

Littlelights - I wouldn’t blindly trust any man. Life isn’t black and white - you don’t throw away a 20 year marriage with 3 young children down the drain because you think men have the capacity to be unfaithful. I don’t know how old you are or what your experience is but I can tell you I have known countless women who have ‘trusted’ what appeared to be devoted husbands only to later find evidence of infidelity. Anyone who thinks it can’t or won’t happen to them can end up being badly burnt. I am a realist and I have spent time with enough men to know that if they think they can get away with it many of them would. If I found him cheating he would be gone but you don’t throw away a marriage and the stability of your children’s lives on a suspicion.

Could it be this:
The train i get every morning is super squishy, as in I"m literally hugging the person next to me. I've accidentally got lipstick/makeup on shirts and jackets before when they move a bit/someone pushes from behind and my face is generally shoulder height. Im always too embarassed to say anything!!

Pretty sure that must happen all the time, if he gets on packes trains it could be that.

Looks a lot like something that he was wearing himself has rubbed off. Ut looks a lot like the kind of foundation stains you get when you remove your clothes rubbing then against your face in the process. My best guess would be blusher, lipstick would be darker. Most likely from a hug.

I agree with most other people. My first thought was blusher.

Hope you get to the bottom of it OPFlowers

With all due respect though rockin, anecdotal evidence seems to suggest that men are more likely to cheat while working away than women. Just look at all the threads on here. I occasionally worked away years ago and the thought of cheating never occurred to me. Dh works away and I found evidence on one occasion that he planned to. That's a whole other thread, but to me it adds fuel to what OP says about if they think they can get away with it, many men would cheat. Even those 'good guys' who no one ever suspects.
Flowers OP. Hope you find out. It's a horrible feeling.

I think it looks like where there has been lipstick marks on the neck that has rubbed along the folded crease. I would be suspicious as hell after seeing that, whilst away, with sporadic contact, and him going back in a short succession of time (was the next trip planned a long time ago or is this a new thing all of a sudden?) Confused

I would be a bit suspicious. I think it looks like makeup that gets on your clothes when you wear foundation. I wondered if someone else put the shirt on and it transferred.
