Help needed please!
Was very close to friend for years. She's rubbish with money but was good at spending mine! We don't see each other so much, but still chat and I went to her birthday bash a few weeks ago.

It took me a while, but the penny finally dropped and I no longer 'lend' her money. (Think 'loan' for £1000 seven years ago and have only had £200 ish back).

There is a band that we have always wanted to see - I know I sound about 10!), so we agreed that I would get the tickets on my card and she would reimburse me after Glastonbury - very expensive!

Here's the thing - tomorrow is the day we go and I think (know?) that she won't have the money.

WIBU to just not go with her? Am meant to be picking her up at 12 pm.

Agggh, just read the whole thread expecting to know how things turned out ...

OJZJ · 04/11/2017 19:39

sits down with a glass of plonk and a bag of nuts waiting for an update

GracielaSabrocita · 04/11/2017 19:52

I have frequently been skint. I have just turned down invitations to go places when I wad unable to afford to. I realise now I have missed a trick, I should have just gone and got my friends to subsidise me.

Don't forget to get them to lend you a grand first. (Unfortunately at some stage you will have to repay 200 of that.)

PovertyPain · 04/11/2017 19:53

Sits down with Diet Coke and plain popcorn and curses slimming world.......and ConciseandNice 😒 😢

DrizzleHair · 04/11/2017 19:57

Slightly embarrassed placemarking to see what happens

GabsAlot · 04/11/2017 20:01

i just thinik its odd op wa happy to update constantly up until 12 when it all weirdly went quiet

so it either means none of it happened or she let cf worm her way to the gig and drove her there

Ikanon · 04/11/2017 20:01

Hope you’re having a lovely evening sans CF!

lborgia · 04/11/2017 20:02

Guard, please don't let the scorched earth lot prevent you from coming back... if you did let her go with you, if you paid for everything, well that's up to you. Just hope you were able to enjoy the music, and that twat-friend didn't make it unpleasant with hangover/mood/ any other entitled behaviour.

Maybe once this is all over (and I'm assuming you went and had a good time), you can distance yourself when there isn't so much at stake.

It's ok GracielaSabrocita, I have that sorted. Borrow a grand, spend £800 on having a wild time, while not treating any of my friends, obvs, then use the 'spare' £200 to pay the person back. I feel they would be terribly grateful that I have bothered to even repay that.

I also notice that some people have asked the OP if she had a signed agreement, so she can take the CF to court.go on Judge Rinder. Well, should my friend suggest me signing such a thing, I will be dreadfully hurt and cry and with quivering lips ask them why they don't trust me and if they really are a true friend!

lborgia · 04/11/2017 20:03

BTW, I'm assuming there's no point in anyone "following" now because she really won't be back for another 12 hours if she's in gig mode!

Farrah87 · 04/11/2017 20:03

Can't believe I've read 23 pages and there's no update.....! Shock

bigtapdancingpimp · 04/11/2017 20:17

Hooplaaaa · 04/11/2017 20:26

Do what you want op

EmmaGrundyForPM · 04/11/2017 20:28

He took her didn't he? Hence no update. He's now really embarassed because everyone told him not to take her but he did anyway. Despite saying his strong he was going to be, and how he was going to stand up to her.....

ASongOfRiceAndPeas · 04/11/2017 20:29
