...to think it's possible to go back to work full time after mat leave?

Would work 37 hours over 4 days with DD in nursery. Every other week she would be in nursery on the 5th day of the week so I can do overtime. She'll be 12 months and a bit.

Please give me your best tips. I'm hoping to still be breastfeeding morning/bedtime. I've heard that without daytime feeds then babies can start waking more in the night when mother goes back to work? And the idea of leaving the house for 7:20 fills me with dread. Will I be expected to give her breakfast before nursery? Any tips more than welcome. Wondering if I've made a mistake saying I'll go full time.

Oh and yes I did continue to breast feed for another year am and pm only. My boobs did look like Katie Price' s on the odd occasion.

Being ill is one possible problem. When my son started nursery he was ill once a month from all the new germs for almost a year. It is also very tiring if they still wake at night. Definitely wouldn’t breast feed. The over time sounds too much. You’ll need that day off to get ahead / recover from the week.

I was back at work 4 (long) days a week when DS was 9 months and still bfing. DS woke all the time in the night anyway and there was no change! I still bfed in the day a bit on the days I was home but from 1, I just stopped during the day times and would say to DS if he asked (signed) for a bf, that no milk from mummy in the day time. I agree with Saracen, try and keep bfing if you can - DS is (touch wood) hardly ever ill which could just be his natural immune system or it could be the bfing.

If there's any way, I'd try and knock the overtime on the head just for now - maybe for the first year and see how things go. Having that one week day when you can do things with your DD or just give her a day to rest and chill a bit makes so much difference. It did for me anyway.

If nursery will give her tea, I think you may just want to offer a little snack before bed in case she didn't eat much. I'd just give a bit of toast, porridge or fruit.

Yes its completely possible to go back full time and still breastfeed, i did it with 2 kids. As others have said, illness will be the worst thing. Be kind to yourself op

Regarding the child (not baby) spending more time bonding with others, thats not mathematically correct either. At least not where i am. Childcare isnt open that many hours
