To wonder where the fuck my face went????

Had the first opportunity/occasion to put on a proper face of make up since I had DS. Had a leisurely shower, a face mask, sat down with a small amount of actual time to myself, excited to feel like Peapod again rather than a washed out Mammy. I applied my usual evening 'face', which used to look nice I think yet I somehow looked like a clown. I've aged soooo badly!! My face has sagged and is certainly not where I left it last time I paid it proper attention. What the hell gravity? I didn't sign up for this shit!

Anyone else care to share the point they realised they were no longer youthful? Or more importantly, tips to give the illusion that my face is still on the front of my head rather than dangling below my jaw?

But my god, my hands! If I could go back in time I'd tell my younger self that although tanned hands look nice FFS put sun block on them. Now they're crepey and freckled and I find myself looking at them disappointedly numerous times a daysad

I know sun damage is supposed to be the biggest factor in ageing, but I don't buy it when it comes to the hands at least. So I'm early 40s and my face started going 😯(but MANY years of total sleep deprivation - I had someone verify my passport copy from when i was pregnant 6 years ago before had non-sleeping DC and they refused to believe it was me only 6 years ago, because apparently I looked like my own daughter 🙄 ). However, my hands look fine, they barely changed in the last 20 years. My mum is the same, she's 64 and the skin is just getting a tiny bit crepey and veins are looking slightly bulging. Neither her nor I ever put any SPF on our hands.
But our fingers structure is different to most, they are not exactly sausage fingers ( with us both being small overall otherwise), but the fingers are short and look slightly swollen, even when they are not (though mine are prone to swelling). I think elegant hands with long dainty fingers and thin skin would age quicker.
So it's mostly genetic i think and no guarantee at all your hands would have looked much better with spf care. Btw both mum and I are freckled and burn easily (especially I do) but neither of us have freckled hands, not yet anyway(we do have freckled arms/shoulders). Picture of my hand right now supplied!

You're probably right, Fresh. I've the opposite problem in that I've ALWAYS had old lady-ish hands, freckly and crepey, even as a teen, so I knew they'd age badly. For that reason though, they don't really bother me. The new late 30s post dc face, however... HmmConfused

I think it is the sleep deprivation. Honestly, my eyes have an extra wrinkle each bloomin' morning. Also, my initial relief that my hair was finally growing back after it nearly all fell out, was soon quashed by the realisation that it's growing back WHITE!!!!!
