Where will the charges against Manafort lead? Whose shredders are overheating today? And most importantly, when will the Tweetstorm-from-the-loo start?

Other deplorables trying to get their feet in the White House door. This is so depressing.

'President Trump has opened the White House doors to extremism, not only consulting with hate groups on policies that erode our country’s civil rights protections but enabling the infiltration of extremist ideas into the administration’s rhetoric and agenda.

Once relegated to the fringes, the radical right now has a toehold in the White House.'

Maybe Trump should be careful about what he wishes for.

Mueller grand jury investigating top DC lobbyists

That includes John Podesta... But in relation to Manafort.

I've obviously not been paying attention - this guy wasn't on my radar.

It sounds as if it’s time for your 10 minutes (or so) of depression, lion. No-one can be upbeat about this 24/7. There are going to be hurts - including some bad hurts. Roll with them and then come back. (A couple of Across’s will help.) Grin

One of the Conservative Party's biggest donors and a billionaire hedge fund manager who played a key role in the Brexit campaign are both braced for revelations about their financial affairs, The Telegraph can disclose as a second company is revealed as a victim in the offshore Bermuda hack.

Sorry I'm crappy at linking on my phone but I've been so enjoying the SNL Weekend Update clips on youtube. They're always funny (much much funnier than most British comedy) but what really strikes me now is the weariness of it. Like we're already in the post Trump era, he just hasn't realised it yet.

Trouble with that is that the US might just forget to actually remove him from office...

cozietoesie · 05/11/2017 14:13

Oh people are tired. No question. That’s why persistence is so important. (You need to remember that 45’s base are tired also.)

lion this made me laugh, given that manafort’s computer password was “bond007”

Paul Manafort's lawyers say he's "no Jason Bourne"

And yet, he had three passports, an alias and seems quite forgetful.

Maybe more like Jeff Bourne, but still a flight risk.

Lweji · 05/11/2017 15:04

SNL, did you watch the shower scene?

Mueller Has Enough Evidence to Bring Charges in Flynn Investigation

www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/amp/mueller-has-enough-evidence-bring-charges-flynn-investigation-n817666

WASHINGTON — Federal investigators have gathered enough evidence to bring charges in their investigation of President Donald Trump's former national security adviser and his son as part of the probe into Russia's intervention in the 2016 election, according to multiple sources familiar with the investigation.

Michael T. Flynn, who was fired after just 24 days on the job, was one of the first Trump associates to come under scrutiny in the federal probe now led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller into possible collusion between Moscow and the Trump campaign.

Mueller is applying renewed pressure on Flynn following his indictment of Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, three sources familiar with the investigation told NBC News.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 05/11/2017 15:43

Missed out this key bit

Flynn's son, Michael G. Flynn, who worked closely with his father, accompanied him during the campaign and briefly worked on the presidential transition, could be indicted separately or at the same time as his father, according to three sources familiar with the investigation.

DH and I have been keeping an eye on Tom Steyer. He appears to be putting his not-so-inconsiderable money where his mouth is and we've signed his petition. Whether it's the subtly disguised beginnings to a presidential campaign or not we have no idea. AND I'm not so sure I'd vote for ANY billionaire for President, even if he/she was a Dem.

It make me think again about the old post- and cold war spies. I guess they can't all have been driven by ideology and ££££ (or rubles) must have figured in there somewhere.

Must be the Cambridge Analytica name that has reminded me.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 05/11/2017 17:48

Radio 4 are broadcasting a profile on manafort at the moment and started it with a bond theme tune and an introduction of “the name’s bond...ten million dollar bond” Grin

cozietoesie · 05/11/2017 17:56

Thanks for those clips, Across. As to 2020 and Steyer, I just don’t know. The right-wing sites are clearly rattled though.

lionheart · 05/11/2017 18:05

This confuses me so I'll have to re-read it but it looks interesting.
