To wonder what the hell? A Domino's pizza is £20??

Scabbersley · 23/10/2017 20:29

Dd is having a party and has asked for Domino's. I haven't had a Domino's pizza for about 25 years. Just went on the website and one large pizza is £20!

So 7 pizzas would cost £140.

What the actual hell??

Got to the asda and grab some of the make your own pizzas. They're £2.60 each for 4 toppings. You can also choose crust thickness and BBQ vs tomato sauce Smile

Kissmycousinkate · 23/10/2017 21:07

Id get four, then buy garlic bread and coleslaw from supermarket.

Two for Tuesdays? HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS

It's not because I have too much money! It's because I am 52 live in the middle of nowhere and haven't ordered Domino's since 1995 and I can't remember how much they cost as I was probably stoned

Oh I could not agree with you more! It's essentially bread and fucking cheese with a few scraps of whatever else scattered on the top! Why the fuck is pizza so expensive?!

PyongyangKipperbang · 23/10/2017 21:13

I would agree with buying 4 large and bung a whole load of wedges and garlic bread in the oven.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 23/10/2017 21:14

£20 for a pizza. Away and fuck. Are they actually taking the piss. I'd want a share In the company for that.
You can get them Iceland for a pound.
Day light robbery.

Jamhandprints · 23/10/2017 21:14

Is there a Papa John's nearish? They are a very similar style but much cheaper, especially with online deals. Mmm, pizza.

MongerTruffle · 23/10/2017 21:15

Two for Tuesdays? HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS

It's in the "Deals" section of the website Smile (and in those leaflets I get from them every week).

Cat2014 · 23/10/2017 21:16

Dominos with BBQ stuffed crust is amazing .. worth the money!! I eat a medium to myself

Misspollyhadadollie · 23/10/2017 21:17

Relieved it isn't just me who could eat a whole pizza! 4 people eating a large pizza? Lol

NapQueen · 23/10/2017 21:17

For 12 Id say four large pizzas, a couple of boxes of chicken strips.

Ring up and ask "what offers do you have on and how much would I need to order to qualify for 50% off?" There is ALWAYS a deal. No one ever pays full price.

VeraVinegarTits · 23/10/2017 21:18

Agree that you need a code and also so much also cheaper to collect provided they actually get your order right. Domino's thin crust is amazing.

MrsEight · 23/10/2017 21:18

Papa Johns is just as expensive I reckon.

God knows why pizza is so expensive.

We have a local kebab shop that does really nice ones for about £7 each and buy one get one free twice a week.

NameChangeFamousFolk · 23/10/2017 21:19

Domino's pizza is hideous here too. I gave up trying to buy a decent pizza and bought a pizza stone and a bag of flour instead Grin.

The profit margins on pizza must be bloody enormous.

MarmaladeIsMyJam · 23/10/2017 21:23

Honestly, how much did you think it was going to cost Confused I don't think £5 a head for a birthday party is extortionate?

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 23/10/2017 21:24

They are horrible, DH and DD get them sometimes but always with a deal and they collect.

bluestarthread · 23/10/2017 21:25

We've had Dominos pizzas for birthday parties - go into a store and speak to the Manager - they do a bigger discount than the vouchers - I think we got them half price last time and some free sides suitable from someone with a dairy intolerance.

Cockmagic · 23/10/2017 21:25

What about a takeaway pizza?

Mine does a 16 inch for £9 plus meal deals etc?

Does it have to be dominoes?

snowgirl1 · 23/10/2017 21:25

As Monger said, look on the 'deals' or 'offers' section of their website - there are usually a few different offers and you can choose whichever suits you best.

ohreallyohreallyoh · 23/10/2017 21:26

Run it through quidco when ordering - generally very low cash back but Imdidmonce get 20% which in addition to vouchers makes a huge difference.

userofthiswebsite · 23/10/2017 21:26

Dominos isn't all that. I've been much more impressed by Papa Johns. Pizza Hut has improved over the past couple of years. It went really downhill beforehand.

MongerTruffle · 23/10/2017 21:27

I'd want a share In the company for that.
Buy twenty shares in the Co-op for that and get your pizza from there.

TattyCat · 23/10/2017 21:27

STOP! If you're rural as well as having hot sweats at the price of Dominos (yep, me too), BUT you have a Tesco near you then go and get 6 x PIZZA EXPRESS pizzas. They about £4/5 quid each for large ones and if you get some frozen garlic bread and throw that in, it's perfect for teenagers. You'll get 6 pizzas for £30 and they're nicer than Dominos, if you follow the instructions and drizzle some olive oil on before cooking. I can only eat half of one in one sitting but on a hungry day could manage a bit of garlic bread as well...

JKR123 · 23/10/2017 21:33

My local Asda and Sainsbury's have pizza stands where you can get a (very) large pizza for about ) £4. And they are way nicer than Dominos

WhatAPunch · 23/10/2017 21:35

I would never buy Domino's type pizza if eating out but it's great takeaway. Don't know why the difference. DC love it.
There's a place for thick cheesy pizza. I love the BBQ sauce.

I'd say 4 large is fine. Let them fill up on loads of crisps while waiting for pizza.

Sounds like great birthday food with the doughnuts after. Hope they enjoy.
