To wonder what the hell? A Domino's pizza is £20??

Scabbersley · 23/10/2017 20:29

Dd is having a party and has asked for Domino's. I haven't had a Domino's pizza for about 25 years. Just went on the website and one large pizza is £20!

So 7 pizzas would cost £140.

What the actual hell??

I hate to burst the 4 pizzas will feed 12 bubble, but I can eat a large to myself!! And so can all my friends!

CocoPuffsinGodMode · 23/10/2017 22:27

If you’re too far away for them to deliver won’t they be cold by the time you get home after collecting them? Takeaway pizza doesn’t stay hot for long IME. I’d be inclined to buy some supermarket ones to be honest.

If you are going to order them though Op get enough so you’re allowing at least half a pizza each. They’re teenagers, they can put away a lot of food plus you really don’t want to spend 40 or 50 quid and then still feel like you skimped because it’s hoovered up and they’re looking for more!

BadTasteFlump · 23/10/2017 22:28

But Suzu this is MN land where one small chicken feeds a family of twelve for a fortnight Grin

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 23/10/2017 22:28

Really?id share a large and there’d be some left over . I’d expect 4 large pizza to feed 12

I can't believe people are saying buy supermarket pizza over a takeaway. Takeaway is soooo much tastier.

I've just had a Pizza Express pizza (on offer from Tesco) and it's nowhere near as nice as actual Pizza Express pizza.

deepestdarkestperu · 23/10/2017 22:29

There's nothing wrong with supermarket pizza, BUT most ovens don't fit 5-6 pizzas in them at once, so you end up cooking for well over an hour to get them all done, leaving some people hungry while others are stuffing their faces.

OP if your DD has asked for Dominos', just go for it. I would go for four large pizzas on the Two for Tuesday offer, and then buy a load of frozen wedges and garlic bread and stick them in the oven at home.

formerbabe · 23/10/2017 22:29

I refuse to buy takeaway pizzas. I buy the posh supermarket ones instead...they never cost more than £5/6 and are just as nice I find.

OytheBumbler · 23/10/2017 22:30

That sounds confusing Confused

I mean the ones actually cooked in Pizza Express.

deepestdarkestperu · 23/10/2017 22:31

Takeaway pizza tastes FAR better cold!

TattyCat · 23/10/2017 22:35

ha! so many opinons! OP, what are you going to do??

viccat · 23/10/2017 22:37

I'm more concerned that OP already bought the Krispy Kremes tbh. Stale doughnuts won't be nice... (Krispy Kremes are never that nice the next day.)

planestrains · 23/10/2017 22:37

My local Dominos is doing a large pizza for £5.99 for lunch (before 4pm), but I’m assuming you need them for the evening?

WhatAPunch · 23/10/2017 22:38

I don't have a small appetite but I could never eat a large Domino's pizza! Do you have to have a sleep after?!

A pizza express pizza I can easily eat alone.

sukitea · 23/10/2017 22:39

Is it just me who could quite easily eat a large domino’s to myself?!

Easily here. The Dominoes-could-feed-4 people is the new MN chicken.

Ds asked for a Dominoes for a special event and I could have cried at £20 for a pizza, which is dough and cheese. I would want a 4 course meal for that price.

DevaDiva · 23/10/2017 22:40

Codes can be area specific but try 50OFFWEB for 50% off when you spend over £50. Never, ever pay full price for Dominoes even if they are bloody lush 😁

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 23/10/2017 22:42

Suzu 10 slices of pizza in one sitting? Fair enough. I'll stick to 2 slices and a couple of chicken wings.

Phalenopsisgirl · 23/10/2017 22:45

I love dominoes but it s not a cheap meal, if you go for regular base it’s quite doughy and there would be no way you’d need a large pizza each! Think half each and some super market garlic bread and nibbles and you’ll have leftovers and very full kids.

IrregularCommentary · 23/10/2017 22:45

I'd question the one pizza per 4 people advice too. I can eat half a large, plus wedges when we get Dominos.

I'm greedy and it's unnecessary, but I'm sure I'm not alone!

AnnaT45 · 23/10/2017 22:46

All this thread has made me want is a domino’s. Decided to treat myself Friday 😅

The faff of cooking so many would put me off and they’ve asked for it! The idea to bulk it out with other bits is ideal. Hope the party goes well! I’m looking forward to mine now on Friday 😂

Tequilamockinbird · 23/10/2017 22:46

Enter your post code here and it will list all working codes in your area.

They won't work with existing deals on dominos website so you'll have to work out which is cheaper.

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 23/10/2017 22:47

Just googled it yes, I'm that bored and dominoes recommends a large pizza with 10 slices serves 3 to 4 people, but if you are feeding those with a larger appetite we suggest 4 slices per person.

Phalenopsisgirl · 23/10/2017 22:47

I can eat a whole large single handed but I have the extra thin base (thinner than the Italian ) which is like a slimline jacobs cracker with toppings. If you want people full then go deep pan.

SuzukiLi · 23/10/2017 22:49

Yep! Large pizza and a box of wings for me 💪🏾

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 23/10/2017 22:54

Another vote here for don’t buy supermarket brand pizzas. Your teenager will die of embarrassment and misery Grin

Reminds me of this meme

To wonder what the hell? A Domino's pizza is £20??
MrLovebucket · 23/10/2017 22:57

Half a large pizza each with either wedges, onion rings. fries or garlic bread etc bunged in the oven to pad it out.

I wouldn't be surprised if you have left over slices at the end of the night.
