To wonder what the hell? A Domino's pizza is £20??

Dd is having a party and has asked for Domino's. I haven't had a Domino's pizza for about 25 years. Just went on the website and one large pizza is £20!

So 7 pizzas would cost £140.

What the actual hell??

Nobody in their right mind buys Domino's without a code.

If buying from there is your only option I agree that letting the kids make their own might be the better option. Ready made dough is available from supermarkets.

Papafran · 23/10/2017 20:39

Even buy one get one free it will be 70 on pizza! Fuck that!

But surely you can't expect a large takeaway pizza to cost less than £10?? Why don't you buy pizzas from the supermarket instead? They're nowhere near as greasy as dominos.

PantPlot · 23/10/2017 20:39

Even with the discount codes they're daft expensive for what they are really.

Okay sometimes they hit the spot but often I end up finishing the bloody things off in the oven as they've only half cooked them, presumably to get them out the door quicker.

Scabbersley · 23/10/2017 20:40

They are 16 they do not want to make their own! I could buy some from Sainsbury's but will be a bit of a production line cooking them

So buy 6 large ‘half and half’ pizzas, use discount codes and deals, I reckon you’ll pay £50-£60 if you get it right.

Also we’re rural and dominoes deliver just pop your post code in on their website and check

Theimpossiblegirl · 23/10/2017 20:41

When's the party? I visited our local one before DD's party, negotiated a decent discount and pre-ordered.

Scabbersley · 23/10/2017 20:41

They do not deliver to us believe me.

I am absolutely not spending 60 or 70 on pizza.

They are massive, you don’t need that many!

Scabbersley · 23/10/2017 20:42

It's tomorrow. I might ring them and see what they'll do.

If you got five large that should be enough for twelve and with offers should be fifty quid.... Which comes to 4.66 a head which isn't bad for takeaway....

NikiBabe · 23/10/2017 20:42

Tell dd to choose something else

Scabbersley · 23/10/2017 20:43

So how many will a large 13.5" pizza feed

smashyourglasses · 23/10/2017 20:43

It's not even proper pizza Confused

BishopstonFaffing · 23/10/2017 20:43

I just bought 12 cheese and tomato pizzas from the chilled bit at aldi for ds's party. Cost £19. Tell DD she can have Dominoes or Sainsburys plus £30 cash

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 23/10/2017 20:44

Large pizza is 10 slices so you would only need 4 max?

Scabbersley · 23/10/2017 20:44

Don't think it's possible to buy 5. Maybe I'll do 6 at 60

werewolfhowls · 23/10/2017 20:44

Costco pizza is way superior and cheaper

RJnomore1 · 23/10/2017 20:44

4 pizzas should feed 12.

If you've got crisps and things too it will definitely do.

DailyMailReadersAreThick · 23/10/2017 20:44

I don't think you need 7 large pizzas for 13 people. A large should do 3/4 people. Maybe get 4 pizzas and buy some cheap garlic bread and potato wedges? Those are filling and all you need to do is chuck them in the oven.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 23/10/2017 20:44

Here you go. Get 6 half-and-half pizzas, a tenner each. I know you don’t want to pay £60 but how much did you think it was gonna cost?

TBF they’re bloody tasty!

Dominoes pizzas are NASTY where we live. Soggy, uneven, tasteless dough. Bleughh.

CantChoose · 23/10/2017 20:45

My husband and I get two large which feeds us for four meals. And we eat loads Blush.
You’ll only need 3-4.

Glumglowworm · 23/10/2017 20:45

But a couple of buy 1 get 1 free and pad out with frozen potato wedges, chicken dippers and a nice pudding

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 23/10/2017 20:45

Please don’t buy supermarket ones if she’s asked for a treat, that’s not a treat.

ItsNachoCheese · 23/10/2017 20:46

scabbersley google latest deals dominos to get voucher codes which should help with the cost
