Op has briefly updated a few threads back. Mabey she is busy or just upset to give a blow by blow account of every word that was said.

nameusername · 19/10/2017 19:06

Oh well, now that she's shown her true colours, no more discounted haircuts, wash dry, last minute appointment, etc. Make her pay full price. She's the one that's dragging the situation. She could have just easily swallow her pride and apologise (even if she doesn't mean it).

Hold your head up high coz even after you try to give her an out 'ditzy' but hey ho, live and learn eh. If future meeting with your friends are awkward, it's on her. Keep your text messages in case she decide to bad mouth your business.

HashiAsLarry · 19/10/2017 19:10

I agree with mission. You've already sorted matters with the PTA, there's no need to get them further involved. Just hold your head high and carry on as you were.

But take heed of F1s attitude, and don't be fooled by her again.

Candlelight234 · 19/10/2017 19:11

Wow, just Shock

CauliflowerSqueeze · 19/10/2017 19:13

Ring back PTA woman. Tell her that on reflection if she could have a stern word you’d appreciate it - she’s wasted so much of everyone’s time.

Bremusa · 19/10/2017 19:13

Fgs is the disablist language really necessary?

Nissandriver · 19/10/2017 19:13
Shock
SecretSmellies · 19/10/2017 19:13

wowsers

Schmoopy · 19/10/2017 19:14

I'd send the thread links to the PTA chair, too at this point.

I'd be surprised if someone who is aware of what's been going on isn't already lurking...

Holdbacktheriver · 19/10/2017 19:14

So sorry op hope you’re ok? Flowers

This lady is not your friend. Distance yourself. You deserve better friends than this

musicposy · 19/10/2017 19:15

This, absolutely.

Tapandgo · 19/10/2017 19:16

Surreal behaviour from anybody, let alone a friend.

CPtart · 19/10/2017 19:16

I would completely ignore her from now on. Completely. No texts, no acknowledgement, nothing. Friends like that you can do without. Take heart that not one of several hundred internet strangers think you are in the wrong here. She's furious she's humiliated herself and you haven't backed down so a big well done.

juneau · 19/10/2017 19:16

Your 'friend' sounds like a cheeky, entitled cow. If I had a mate who owned a salon I would never turn up just as it was about to close and ask for free services - that's bloody outrageous! Mate's rates is one thing, but you bloody well book like anyone else and don't take the piss. This woman is not a friend - she's a user. I'm really sorry she's treated someone who is generous and kind as you in such a shabby way Sad And well done for standing up for yourself Flowers

FruitCider · 19/10/2017 19:19

OMG I’ve just had a comment deleted for the first time. Sorry MNHQ, if you could tell me how I went wrong in pm I promise not to do it again!

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 19/10/2017 19:19

Hope f2 and f3 ditch her too

sleeponeday · 19/10/2017 19:22

OP, I am so sorry. What a horrible position to put a friend in, and then what an unspeakably horrible way to handle it.

I agree that rescinding the offer of a replacement is a bad idea, because the publicity could be problematic.

I don't think you need to approach anyone - they will need to approach you to get the voucher, and unless they are unlike any PTA I have ever encountered will be gagging to know your side, on gossip grounds. Just sticking to the basic facts, without editorialising, will show precisely what she is like.

How on earth she thought volunteering your services for a school your child doesn't even attend, and for such a high-value prize, at that, was okay is beyond me.

TheBadgersMadeMeDoIt · 19/10/2017 19:22

What an absolute cow. Do not mourn the loss of this "friendship" for one second.

And please do come back and tell us what F2 and F3 have to say about this outcome. Meanwhile, have a hug. You must be feeling wrung out. Flowers

LexieLulu · 19/10/2017 19:23

What? Is she for real? How was any of this your fault?

JWrecks · 19/10/2017 19:25

No apology.
All my fault apparently.
Bonus points to the person who guessed a flounce would happen.

You
are
fucking
joking.

Cheeky mare! This is... arrrrgh I can't even find my words!

@KungFu, I totally agree w pp: We need a blow by blow of the conversation!! I just can't believe it!!

I am DYING to know how the hell she tried to turn this - her lie, her refusal to take responsibility, her loose generosity with YOUR time and money, her ducking TWO opportunities to just help out with the money (one only bloody £15!), and her getting shotty with YOU about her cock up - into your fault!!

IceNoSlice · 19/10/2017 19:29

OMG. No words. Deluded and CF.
