They're a string of Halloween paper chains hanging on the outside of my bedroom door. She said they're offensive and she doesn't like them.

I really love Halloween and they make me smile when I come in. I have more hanging in my room too.

Who is being unreasonable?

There's evidence that lol is now more of an empathy marker than anything else now. However I doubt that was how it was meant in this case.

People seem to add "lol" almost like punctuation nowadays.

God forbid anyone on MN should post about a minor issue in their lives that involves someone they live with.
That would be about 3/4:of the threads gone.

I have no idea how 3/4 of became 3/4 Grinf

Leave it up. Good life experience for her that different people think different things and few will kowtow to her, the sooner she learns that the better. Wait till she gets a job and could be disciplined for suggesting someone else's religion is offensive. I'd say that to her next time you talk 😁 It's not like she's made the slightest effort to be friendly so I wouldn't care.
