AIBU to be fucking sick of the middle class to band HARD working class people together as some kind of group to be looked down on.

Sparklingbrook · 09/10/2017 21:36

YABU to watch Coronation Street. Watch Emmerdale instead.

KissesAX · 09/10/2017 21:36

Making an shared action of people blanket an entire class is what's part of the problem in the division of classes.

Wolfiefan · 09/10/2017 21:37

Get a Downton box set. Better gowns and a higher class of shouting! Grin

Funko · 09/10/2017 21:37

Or East Enders. For non stereotype shits and epic giggles 😂

BishBoshBashBop · 09/10/2017 21:37

Well aren't you a delight.

Funko · 09/10/2017 21:38

Tbf, I took op to mean that she was sick of the stereotype, not sick of actual working class....

I'm.sick of people basing their opinions of different classes on fictional TV programmes but then we don't always get everything our own way do we.

Eminybob · 09/10/2017 21:39

Your basing your perception of the working classes on a television programme? You know it's not real right?

Justgivemesomepeace · 09/10/2017 21:39

Eh? What u on about?

MissAlabamaWhitman · 09/10/2017 21:40

Be sick of what you like, just don't expect anybody else to actually give a shiny shite.

WorraLiberty · 09/10/2017 21:40

Nothing wrong with my ars

It's more than all right really.

Wolfiefan · 09/10/2017 21:40

I too thought it was a pop at the programme makers stereotyping rather than the OP being prejudiced?! Confused

browncordchic · 09/10/2017 21:41

Yes, it is the programme. It annoys the shit out of me that someone "lower class" is portrayed so badly. And the shouting gives me a headache.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 09/10/2017 21:42

Don't watch it then. Grin

CathyMedici · 09/10/2017 21:42

I'm just sick of the working class.

NatMatCat · 09/10/2017 21:42

I'm pretty sure the op is complaining about the portrayal of working class people in Coronation Street.

Wolfiefan Do you have a beret and a bad afghan?

MadMags · 09/10/2017 21:43

She's obviously having a pop at the producers' stereotyping of working class. Hmm

UnmentionedElephantDildo · 09/10/2017 21:43

She's on about lazy Corrie scriptwriting and the appalling stereotypes currently in use.

Not sure why that would merit a deletion - or are soaps untouchably correct, even when they dish up crap?

browncordchic · 09/10/2017 21:43

It isn't about whether I watch it or not, tbh sparkling

Yes, I can vote with my feet, but it is still portraying a character in a very deliberate and not entirely pleasant way.

OP posts:
NatMatCat · 09/10/2017 21:44

Just not watching it doesn't address the problem. If the portrayal is offensive it's still offensive even if only other people can see it.

elephantoverthehill · 09/10/2017 21:44

Do programme makers really think that it is only working class people who show off their midriffs. Plenty on view wherever you happen to look. I wish I had one that others would like to look at.
