PortiaCastis · 09/10/2017 21:44

I never look down on people

jacrispy · 09/10/2017 21:44

And now I come back to apologise. I get so angry about how I am stereotyped it gets me so angry. I’m sorry Smile this is my contrite face.

Funko · 09/10/2017 21:44

Depends on the shoes I suppose Ja 😂

browncordchic · 09/10/2017 21:45

Well, the character doesn't elephant

Because working class people are thick, shouty, and have no taste whatsoever.

Apparently.

OP posts:
browncordchic · 09/10/2017 21:46

S'alright ja, that was one lovely apology.

quaqua · 09/10/2017 21:46

Just watch Made in Chelsea with the sound turned down instead.

jacrispy · 09/10/2017 21:46

Working class like me knock about in fake uggs darrling Grin

thecatfromjapan · 09/10/2017 21:47

browncordchic YANBU.

However, I hate to say it but I think your thread is over. My guess is that your attempt to discuss stereotyping in popular media - and possibly linking that to the lack of working class/minority writers given a mainstream presence - is going to be lost amongst outraged voices who haven't even read your opening post properly.

Funko · 09/10/2017 21:47

Ooooh have you trodden the backs down too? 😂😂😂

jacrispy · 09/10/2017 21:48

I feel horrible I never kick off. May I offer you a lovely bunch of Flowers just don’t ask where I got em Grin

Wolfiefan · 09/10/2017 21:49

One has fucked up one's internet tonight.
I do not have a beret or an afghan.
I do have some terribly fetching wellies and a wolfhound Grin (can't remember what an afghan is at the mo! Blush)
Programme makers create programmes people will watch. Not me. Soaps hurt my head too. If people vote with their remotes then there would be less shit on TV.

jacrispy · 09/10/2017 21:49

You can’t tred down the backs on uggs that’s the joy of them!

browncordchic · 09/10/2017 21:50

Seriously, don't worry! That's a mild MN flaming Grin More offended by Worra flashing her arse.

OP posts:
jacrispy · 09/10/2017 21:50

I can flash my arse too?

Funko · 09/10/2017 21:50

Lmao. Reminds me of an ex. I used to joke in his rare romantic moments he’d nicked the flowers from an RTA scene or the local cemetery ( yes I know, I’m awful)

He sent me a bouquet once with a sympathy card ‘I’m sorry for your loss’.

V glad he’s an ex but v funny all the same 😃

UnmentionedElephantDildo · 09/10/2017 21:51

I don't think the thread is over, and I hope that MNers will look at more than just the title (or will that be another marker of how things have changed here?)

How television scriptwriter use stereotypes in the most-watched programmes is something, I think, that matters. And threads about it shouldn't be doomed because a couple of posters made a mistake (and have out their hands up for it and apologised).

SumAndSubstance · 09/10/2017 21:52

I knew this was going to be about Corrie. YANBU.

thecatfromjapan · 09/10/2017 21:52

I was wrong!

And I'm so happy to have been wrong. Smile

I remember Coronation Street when it was Albert and Ena in the snug. Bet Lynch was my style role model.

Funko · 09/10/2017 21:52

And I beg to differ Ja

UnmentionedElephantDildo · 09/10/2017 21:53

"One has fucked up one's internet tonight.
"I do not have a beret or an afghan."

Not seen in Tooting these days - it's gentrified

"I do have some terribly fetching wellies and a wolfhound grin"

Much more like it!

Noofly · 09/10/2017 21:53

I watched the end of Coronation Street once shortly after moving to this country. I thought it was a parody of a soap opera. Had no idea it was this national institution.

TabbyMumz · 09/10/2017 21:53

I have no idea what you are saying?

jacrispy · 09/10/2017 21:53

Lol my moms ex was the same we lived right next door to a graveyard and he pissed her off a lot!

browncordchic · 09/10/2017 21:54

It just really pisses me off! The girl playing Gemma isn't brilliant, but the running around SHOUTING is just - well.

They keep trying to re create Becky and it doesn't work.

TatianaLarina · 09/10/2017 21:55

I like your ex Funko that made me laugh.
