FUNKO how did you get that picture of me Grinfrom that angle my leggings don’t look that flattering.

forcryinoutloud · 09/10/2017 21:58

I'm hoping that was Sparkling's idea of a devilish joke....someone throwing in a 'don't watch it' or 'don't listen to it' or 'don't buy it' etc etc is an old chestnut on these threads when OP is having a rant about something.

browncordchic · 09/10/2017 21:58

I doubt it.

Sparklingbrook · 09/10/2017 22:01

Well, it was giving the poor OP a headache forcryinoutloud so time for drastic measures. Grin

Maybe complain to Ofcom?

browncordchic · 09/10/2017 22:02

Oh do trot off to somewhere else. Anywhere else.

Why are you watching corrie just shop in asda on a sunday afternoon...

Fruitcocktail6 · 09/10/2017 22:04

Wow, some pp have chips on their shoulders.

Eastenders is the same.

PickAChew · 09/10/2017 22:04

Who the what now?

OnTheSherry · 09/10/2017 22:06

YABU for watching Corrie.

Eastenders is so much classier and more glamorous.

I mean, they've got Liz 'lipstick and leotards' McDonald, but we've got Sharon and her eyebrow acting.

Plus its on the BBC, so its posh, innit?

PortiaCastis · 09/10/2017 22:07

My exh once came home pissed as a fart with a bunch of daffs in a brown primani bag as a peace offering. Oh very classy!

scrabbler3 · 09/10/2017 22:08

I agree. The character is a lazy stereotype and the actress has obviously been told to play her in a particular way. Becky and Kylie were from a similar background but were more nuanced.

WhatInTheWorldIsGoingOn · 09/10/2017 22:08

Why has a very obviously sarcastic OP become so strange? I have no idea what is going on any more.

LineysRun · 09/10/2017 22:09

I'm sick of people being sick of people who are clearly sick of lazy stereotyping on popular television programmes.

HateIsNotGood · 09/10/2017 22:09

Actually OP does have a point - I don't watch Corrie, or any of the Soaps anymore because of the fucking SCREAMING (looking at you Eastenders).

Very few people actually live there lives in a constant screaming argument although they may be really argumentative people (looking at you HateIs). It is actually why I stopped watching them.

Great AIBU Post Title OP - grist for t'mill.....

thecatfromjapan · 09/10/2017 22:10

Oh. It is all weird.

LineysRun · 09/10/2017 22:11

Well this place has become as dense as a scrag's back arse lately. Not the OP's fault.

thecatfromjapan · 09/10/2017 22:15

Wow. That's an amaxing phrase, Liney .

DeadEnders · 09/10/2017 22:17

Well said LineysRun.

browncordchic · 09/10/2017 22:19

very few people actually live their lives in a constant screaming argument

Er, you do know you're on AIBU, right? Grin

ConciseandNice · 09/10/2017 22:21

Classy people don't watch soap operas that indulge in copious stereotyping. So all of them.

Shockers · 09/10/2017 22:23

How have David and Eileen both got tans? I'm in the NW; it's rained solidly for about 6 months...

stripysleeves · 09/10/2017 22:24

Eastenders is worse IMO.

I watched it religiously for the best part fo 20 years. Until it slowly dawned on my how fucking insulting the program is.

When it started, it was meant to be a more realsitic portrayal of working class London. But all the characters in the show are thick. Pig ignorant, 2 dimentional characters invented by media types with patronising ideas about what the lower classes are up to.

Corrie isn't nearly as bad. At least soe of their characters have a bt of depth.

(Disclaimer - I am basing this on 20 years of EE and about 2 of Corrie, last watched about a decade ago! Have either improved since?)

NameChanger22 · 09/10/2017 22:24

Only commoners watch the soaps, don't you know.

Fishcalledlola · 09/10/2017 22:24

Love Gemma's midriff Grin

stripysleeves · 09/10/2017 22:25

Actually Stacey Slater had promise - she was a fantastic actress at about 15.

Please tell me they did something vaguely interesting with her character?
