Strip clubs & Stag dos

DH went on a stag do in the summer, one night away at a weekend, obvs he came back tired and hungover but said he'd had a good time and didn't go to bed until 630am. I asked which bars stayed open until then but was told they do in Liverpool (?) obviously I am very naive!
Have since found out they were all at a lap dancing club without the stag - he'd gone to bed at midnight. AIBU to think he's bloody disgusting and to have lost all respect for him - for lying by omission and for visiting a lap dancing club in the first place.

You can't generalise and say all men who go to these clubs are dicks surely?! That's quite unfair. What about men who are there as part of a stag do. What about men who are taken there as a birthday outing by their male friends? Jesus Christ. It's one thing to not like/disapprove of them but a whole other thing to say anyone who goes there are dicks.

Ah yes, it's unfair on men to judge men for their own actions. Those poor men being dragged along who had no choice in the matter whatsoever. No boy or man I'm close to would ever go to one in any circumstance.

Its really sad that we can't have a thread without insults.

I don't disagree with you, but I don't actually think there have been many insults on this thread. Only a couple of posters have actually made derogatory comments about 'cool wives'. I certainly haven't and neither has NoLoveofMine who has done much of the arguing!

I don’t think I know a man who’s never been to a strip club, they must be few and far between. Obviously I don’t mean they’re all desperate for it but if the group are going and it’s not your bag then you tend to sit in the bar and have a drink, it doesn’t make them all arseholes. Can just imagine being the poor bloke who says “I’m going back to the hotel guys, my OH wouldn’t like it”. He’d be crucified. They’re not my bag but you go as on stag it’s a bit rude not to.

No boy I'm friends with ever would in future either and I'm sure my brothers won't when they're old enough to have the opportunity to.

Then again sharklovers you're the man who thinks it's hilarious your friends all lie to their wives who find strip clubs demeaning and get up to things you clearly know they'd hate when there so that says a lot about you and the company you keep. He didn't tell you the whole truth so that's not good. But if the stag went home why did they need to go to the strip club? Having said that it is possible to just go an have a drink at these places while they wait for their friends. Yes they might see some women's breasts but they can say no, just because he was there doesn't mean he had a private dance tbh. Just ask him, you'll know if he's telling lies.

All these "all men who go to strip joints are dicks" are baseless. No they are not. They may have dicks but they aren't dicks. There are plenty of dicks who don't go to strip joints. Also its worth pointing out that the women who work in these places do it of their own free will, consenting adults etc.
