I invite you now to all put on your absolute favourite karaoke tune on RIGHT NOW and have a singalong. No exceptions. You must play it right now and tell us its title.

Mine is Gold by Spandau Ballet, and incidentally I'd love it if you could twl me what this line means because i never got it:
"Glad that you're bound to return"

WTF does he mean? Or is he just doing the usual 80s filler line thing?

Hitting play now....

Cuz you are....GOLD!

Happy Saturday

Whitney Houston, One Moment in Time. They play it on magic all the time.

My neighbours hate me...

splendidisolation · 30/09/2017 19:58

Playing yours now Bunny 😂

I don't like singing, but will sing along to Neil Diamond, my favourite is Cracklin Rosie.

DurhamDurham · 30/09/2017 20:00

Well I'm torn between I'm in the mood for Dancing by The Nolans and Heartbreak Beat by the Psychedelic Furs. You decide Smile

StaplesCorner · 30/09/2017 20:02

what ARE salad days? Too drunk too google, but I'd often wondered!

KentonArcher · 30/09/2017 20:02

Stop by Sam Brown. Right now, over and over and over again. In the car mainly though.

LillyLollyLandy · 30/09/2017 20:04

We built this city on rock and roll - another Magic FM favourite and an absolute classic for karaoke!

snatches mic

IAmBreakmasterCylinder · 30/09/2017 20:04

I just had to go through that WHOLE SONG in my head! I can't cope with an unfinished lyric!

PutTheBunnyBackInTheBox · 30/09/2017 20:05

Playing yours now Bunny 😂

"I will be freeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

I also love Midnight Train to Georgia (70's not 80's sorry). I defy anyone to sing "whoo whoo" without pulling that imaginary train whistle Grin

Crunchymum · 30/09/2017 20:07

Glad that you're bound to return surely means glad that you are going to come back?

Can you explain the 'salad' in your thread title OP? I'm pregnant so very sober Grin

I'm too sober for Karaoke Blush

Frouby · 30/09/2017 20:08

I Want To Break Free.

Not my favourite but you can guarantee I will screech along. Loudly. And with style.

Pancakeflipper · 30/09/2017 20:08

Can we have a bit of Bob Seger belting out Hollywood Nights?
Found a load of my Dad's vinyl today and this record was there.

And I also found Alexander O'Neil singing Criticise. So lets boogie on down...

Coloursthatweremyjoy · 30/09/2017 20:09

Black velvet...please...not the usual I admit but clearly my voice is amazing and I can totally pull it off.

God bless Heart radio for playing it on the school run...my kids are bitHmm

SmileEachDay · 30/09/2017 20:09

glad that you're bound to return

Doesn't it just mean he's glad that she's going to come back? That's she's "bound to"?

ScouseQueen · 30/09/2017 20:09

@splendidisolation
Gary Kemp wrote Gold as a kind of parody of / homage to James Bond and Bond themes. So 'Glad that you're bound to return' is a reference to the bit at the end of Bond films where it says 'James Bond will return in.. '

Can I have Miley Cyrus, Party in the USA please?

Bubblysqueak · 30/09/2017 20:10

Can't decide between s club 7 reach or proclaimers 500 miles so I'll have to do both!

SmileEachDay · 30/09/2017 20:10

Is that right Scouse - that's amazing!!

ispentitwithyou1 · 30/09/2017 20:12

How about against the wind bob Seger?! Not really a belting out on karaoke one...but great song

PatriciaHolm · 30/09/2017 20:12

Mr Brightside, Killers.
Might need another wine before attempting it though...

ScouseQueen · 30/09/2017 20:13

'These are our salad days' comes from the Gold lyrics. It's from Shakespeare, Anthony and Cleopatra, when she refers to 'my salad days, when I was green in judgment'. It means when you're young, hopeful and naive. Check out

Can you tell the X Factor isn't really grabbing me tonight?

ScouseQueen · 30/09/2017 20:14

Smile I heard it in a radio interview he did a few years ago. And to be honest, once you look at it like that, the song makes a lot more sense! Smile

Pancakeflipper · 30/09/2017 20:16

If X Factor is dirge - tune into Radio 2 - I am completely some work and DJ Trevor Nelson is playing the tunes... He's on form tonight.

NC4now · 30/09/2017 20:18

New England, by Kirsty McColl. I actually prefer the Billy Bragg version but I sound a right tit singing in his accent.

pantrylightout · 30/09/2017 20:20

I might be wrong but salad days are when you are poor

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 30/09/2017 20:21

Mine will be... Glory of Love - Peter Cetera
