I invite you now to all put on your absolute favourite karaoke tune on RIGHT NOW and have a singalong. No exceptions. You must play it right now and tell us its title.

Mine is Gold by Spandau Ballet, and incidentally I'd love it if you could twl me what this line means because i never got it:
"Glad that you're bound to return"

WTF does he mean? Or is he just doing the usual 80s filler line thing?

Hitting play now....

Cuz you are....GOLD!

Happy Saturday

Danny Wilson - Mary's Prayer
Belinda Carlisle - Heaven is a Place on Earth
Crowded House - Four Seasons In One Day
Maria Mckee - Show Me Heaven
Berlin - Take My Breath Away
Roxette - It Must Have Been Love
T'Pau - China In Your Hand

I feel old!

Always assumed salad days referred to when you were young and'green' like salad leaves.

PerpetualStudent · 30/09/2017 23:02

OMG dixie chicks, Tim Curry - I have found my people!

BikeRunSki · 30/09/2017 23:05

Sweeeeeet Caroline....

CryHavoc · 30/09/2017 23:08

Catatonia's Road Rage was my favourite when I used to go to karaoke nights with my friends after work, but I am nothing if not versatile and could also turn my hand to Madonna, Like a Prayer, and Kelly Clarkson's Since You've Been Gone.
After 11, when much drink has been taken, I could do an A Million Love Songs that would break your heart.

DISCLAIMER: I cannot sing. At all. But I am blessed with lots of confidence, and one glass of wine is generally enough to convince me that my voice probably isn't that bad.

JemimaLovesHamble · 30/09/2017 23:15

Hang on, I clearly misunderstood the assignment.. Cheesy songs..

In that case - Angry Anderson- Suddenly. If this song doesn't resonate down to your very core you must be younger than 40!

And also Tracey Ullman "They Don't Know About Us", her second best achievement after bringing The Simpsons to our attention.

Bratsandtwats · 30/09/2017 23:20

Mr Brightside, Killers.

This is my theme tune.

iklboo · 30/09/2017 23:21

DH & I got a standing ovation the other week for our Fairytale of New York. I think that says more about the state of advanced refreshment of the audience than our singing.

pinkhousesarebest · 30/09/2017 23:32

I am writing these down for Monday morning.
Can I add a bit of Kylie- Better the Devil you know. Just me and her and a few others at the Bataclan in 2001. What a night💕

BlueIsntMyColour · 30/09/2017 23:33

Also Dixie Chicks 'Tonight, the heartaches on me'

"Coulda huuuuuurrrrrrd a pin drop"

pinkhousesarebest · 30/09/2017 23:33

iklboo wow!

MrsOllyMurs · 30/09/2017 23:47

Massive Spandau fan here, and I never knew Gold was about Bond. But why are ‘the chairs all worn’ and where have they gone? ‘I left them here, I could have sworn....’ I luffs Gary Kemp though, so he’s forgiven 😜
As for karaoke, it’s gotta be ABBA!

Reading this. Very interesting

I'm also partial to a lititle " Real Gone" by Sheryl Crow ...

"I was born in the south sometimes I have a big mouth when I see something that I dont like...I gotta say it." Too right!

In actual fact I'm English and rather timid but still.

AnnieAnoniMouse · 01/10/2017 01:16

Too many!

But the one guaranteed to get me on the table my feet gas to be the Proclaimers - 500 miles.

Closer to Christmas Pogues Fairytale of New York
