I invite you now to all put on your absolute favourite karaoke tune on RIGHT NOW and have a singalong. No exceptions. You must play it right now and tell us its title.

Mine is Gold by Spandau Ballet, and incidentally I'd love it if you could twl me what this line means because i never got it:
"Glad that you're bound to return"

WTF does he mean? Or is he just doing the usual 80s filler line thing?

Hitting play now....

Cuz you are....GOLD!

Happy Saturday

Hungry Like The Wolf - Duran Duran

I OWN that song on karaoke in my own head.

wildbhoysmama · 30/09/2017 21:34

Yes, Dignity! "I'm thinking about home and all that it means...a place in the winter for di-hig- niteeeee!" Magic.

Wham rap- takes me back to playing the 7 inch constantly on my parents' music system ( the huge, wooden piece of furniture on wheels with the the table and double cassette!) and writing down every word. I know it word perfect and think I am Shirley ( Pepsi's pal).

Or 'Ya mo be there' Michael Doobie. Classic.

I have music on when I do housework/diy/decorating/driving and I sing along to loads of stuff LOUD. A lot of what is already mentioned here.

My recent favourite is Roar - Katy Perry.

My inspirational sing along is Karma Killer - Robbie Williams because it made me fell better shortly after quitting my job because of a nasty bitch that tried to get me into lots of trouble. I am in a much better job now because the situation gave the push I needed - Karma indeed!

Walk out to winter - Aztec Camera

Walk out to winter swear I'll be there, chill will wake you high and dry you wonder why.

I wish I was back in my salad days!

"la la la ..Somewhere in my heart there is a star that shines for you, silver splits the blue, love will see us through. Somewhere in my heart... la la la la la

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 30/09/2017 21:53

Got to be Meatloaf Bat out of Hell. Love a bit of Meatloaf, he's fab for a singalong.
Or
Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now by Starship.

Also love We Built this City but a pp got there firstGrin

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 30/09/2017 21:55

Oh Twitter now I’m going to have that in my head all night!

NameChangeFamousFolk · 30/09/2017 21:56

Stop by Sam Brown

That's a good one.

Spandau's Gold is awesome, I agree.

It's cheesy as fuck, but I'm going to throw in Vonda Shepherd and 'Searching my Soul' as it used to get me through some crap mornings before leaving for a job I hated.

I've been down this road walkin' the line
That's painted by pride
And I have made mistakes in my life
That I just can't hide
Oh I believe I am ready for what love has to bring
Got myself together, now I'm ready to sing

Or Wichita Lineman, one of the best songs ever.

All Coming Back to Me Now - Celine Dion.

Once I was belting it out and DH came running in from another room to check I was alright as he'd heard a terrible scream....bastard.

I wanna C O O L....R I D E R

CurlsandCurves · 30/09/2017 22:25

Well, if we're talking weird Spandau lyrics, may I give you...

'Take your seaside arms and write the next line'

LegoHurts · 30/09/2017 22:25

Loads of good ones here but I think I'll choose The Levellers and 15 years...

" I never was a violent man

Said the man in the bar with his head in his hands" 😊😊😊

JemimaLovesHamble · 30/09/2017 22:28

Well my current earworm is "One Last Time" from the Hamilton soundtrack if that counts? Can't sing out loud because the dividing wall that separates me from the neighbours is as effective as a piece of paper!

ladygrinningsoul · 30/09/2017 22:29

Sympathy For The Devil

MarxandMarzipan · 30/09/2017 22:30

New England is a Billy Bragg song which Kirsty MacColl covered brilliantly. She added an extra verse which he now sings.

honeyroar · 30/09/2017 22:35

Loving a lot of these.

I adore 15 years! Closely followed by One Way, the student anthem of my uni days.

I had Duran Duran's Greatest Hits on today while driving back from London. I was a huge fan, but even though I still love listening to them, I have to admit they lyrics are weird as heck! I've no idea what most songs are going on about, but they're still fab to belt out.

As for the Spandau's chairs - weren't they all gone, not all worn? That's why he then says I left them here, I could have sworn.. No? That's what I'd always thought.

AlexaAmbidextra · 30/09/2017 22:39

I'm going through all these thinking I must put them on my IPod. Not forgetting Solsbury Hill and Peter Gabriel.

BlueIsntMyColour · 30/09/2017 22:48

Madonna 'Like a virgin' followed by Notorious B.I.G 'Juicy'.

BubblegumFactory · 30/09/2017 22:51

Depends on mood.
Manfred Mann, Do wah diddy or Loleatta Holloway's Runaway
I'm convinced I can sing.
No-one else seems to agree hence these songs only get belted out when I'm alone.

AllRightNowInFactItsAGas · 30/09/2017 22:53

I've always killed it with Alanis Morrisette - 'You Oughta Know' on karaoke but can we have Adam and the Ants 'Prince Charming'?
