I invite you now to all put on your absolute favourite karaoke tune on RIGHT NOW and have a singalong. No exceptions. You must play it right now and tell us its title.

Mine is Gold by Spandau Ballet, and incidentally I'd love it if you could twl me what this line means because i never got it:
"Glad that you're bound to return"

WTF does he mean? Or is he just doing the usual 80s filler line thing?

Hitting play now....

Cuz you are....GOLD!

Happy Saturday

I always wondered what salad days were

I thought it meant the great days when you are young.

I thought he was sorry the chairs were all wrong (like he could bot remember where they went, after they got moved and kicked about during a wild party)

And I will now sing wind beneath my wings Wine

EnglishRose13 · 30/09/2017 20:52

Fast Car. Definitely.

TwitterQueen1 · 30/09/2017 20:53

Aztec Camera, Somewhere in My Heart
There must be an angel - Eurythmics

I used to dance madly round my living room to both of these in my younger, single days. Happy days.

PS: can you tell I'm knocking on a bit!

Therealslimshady1 · 30/09/2017 20:54

Salad days" is a Shakespearean idiomatic expression to refer to a youthful time, accompanied by the inexperience, enthusiasm, idealism, innocence, or indiscretion that one associates with a young person.

AHintOfStyle · 30/09/2017 20:54

OMG TwitterQueen you must know 'Long White Car!!

AHintOfStyle · 30/09/2017 20:55

On that note Annie Lennox - Little Bird.

my heart goes boom boom boom

alfagirl73 · 30/09/2017 21:09

For what it's worth, the other 4 members of Spandau Ballet have all admitted that they didn't actually understand a lot of Gary Kemp's lyrics back in the day. Gary Kemp is a big poetry/literature/arts fan and much of his lyrics and influences come from those sources. Many of SB's earlier works... only he really knew the proper meaning of them. There were debates for years over the origin of "stealing cake to eat the moon"!! LOL! More recently he's written more in conjunction with Steve Norman who has had a heavy influence in making the lyrics a bit more understandable/relatable. :-)

PovertyJetset · 30/09/2017 21:15

Shook me all night long- AC/DC
Landslide- the DiXie Chick version
Got to be You- one direction Blush.

That 1-D song is so good for belting out!!

I'm a fantastic singer and love to sing my heart out in the car!!

PerpetualStudent · 30/09/2017 21:17

My salad is definitely wilted :/ 2nd DC recently under my belt, feel like I'm staring 40 in the face and the sparkle of life has been tarnished somewhat...
Very outing if anyone happened to attend uni at the same place/time as me, but me and my coursemates would hog the kareoke mic with McFly's 'Girl with 5 colours in her hair' and Dolly P's '9 to 5' (which is seriously hard to get the puff for when you're a few VKs down) play it loud please OP...

AudTheDeepMinded · 30/09/2017 21:17

Wuthering Heights by wor Katy. I am bloody awesome at this, unfortunately I am about three times her size with no co-ordination so the prancing about is a bit hit-and-miss.

Also 'The One and Only' by Chesney Hawkes is a great tune to song along to.

happy days
