It used to be a good place.

Now it's full of posters with long drawn out, multiple threads about boring banal shit.

Cheeky Neighbour thread Number 20.

My Boring Life Thread Number 100.

My Blossoming Heart Throb (who happens to be a gardener) Thread Number 90.

My Awful Life In General Thread Number 200.

And if anyone dares to challenge the OP of a multiple thread they must be a harpy or troll.

The fact that the multiple-thread-starters might be trolls themselves seems to escape the attention of the fans.

OP posts:

Oblomov17

I'll see your Gammon and Pavlova and raise you a Cumberland Sausage and some Red Cabbage

SquirrelPlantedBeech · 29/09/2017 11:51

Nada, I've had problems with my Grade 1 mansion. Paparazzi over the hedge trying to get shots of the house.

DailyMailReadersAreThick · 29/09/2017 11:53

another one of these shitty offensive threads. Nobody is keeping you, nor the 1000 other posters that have started a thread to complain seemingly at least once a fortnight how shit MN is..steps away from why is MN so shit in 2017 thread 30'

Yep!

'Ive just gone to the last page of AIBU and looked at threads from 2006, and they look bloody boring too'

Also yes.

It's busier, but the posts haven't changed significantly.

PortiaCastis · 29/09/2017 11:55

Easy answer
Don't like it don't use it!!
This thread is more banal than most and being superior and looking down on folk is an ugly trait.

ErrolTheDragon · 29/09/2017 11:58

A hedge?Hmmyou need a good stone wall, a belt of woodland, and a haha as an inner perimeter - if paps do breach the wall, at least then they can't lurk.

SquirrelPlantedBeech · 29/09/2017 11:58

Name /bold fail. That last was for ada. FFS. Off to make a pavlova.

PortiaCastis · 29/09/2017 12:01

I'm down wiv da kidz and just made a bread pudding it smells gorgeous and I would like it to hurry up and cook so I can erm taste for texture 😂

ShizzleYoDrizzle · 29/09/2017 12:34

Yes

There’s a lot of

‘I use Turbo Dettol to wash my sheets which I obviously change every morning. Hope this helps hun xoxo’

Or

‘Raaaarrrrhhh arrrgghhhh fuck waaaggghhhh fuck arrrghhhh how dare you post a fairly innocuous thread and expect me to answer in a rational manner’.

Stuck between a hun and a hard place.

We need Isaac Crumb to sort this shit out.

flippinada · 29/09/2017 12:38

Not that I would normally mention anything to do money, ofc, as I'm not at all materialistic. Despite being very wealthy and living in a grade 1 mansion with an Aga.

CharlieSierra · 29/09/2017 13:26

I've put cling film across the windows instead of glass to save some money as running an Aga is terribly expensive, but someone in the village has complained. WIBU to beat them to death with a jacket potato?

At least you can offset the Aga running costs against the school fees though Ada, it's costing me a bomb to heat the kitchen of my mansion with a combi boiler and bake spuds for the entire village in an electric oven. The bursar of DCs independent comp school is having none of it.

Whatamesshaslunch · 29/09/2017 14:04

I think that when you are new to mumsnet, and get those daily emails with the 'talk' roundup, you are usually directed straight to the AIBU board. It's not totally clear where to go to talk about other things, so I think people then post subjects in the wrong place. For example AIBU about my DC's toilet habits should ordinarily go on a completely different board, where it wouldnt being down the interest/fun/moral support of the aibu board.
I've been on here for a little while and because I'm completely dense I've only just discovered and started to browse the other threads! (Not that I'm responsible for any crappy posts, I hope!)

WomblingThree · 29/09/2017 14:20

I’ve noticed that too @Whatamesshaslunch. It’s almost like people are being directed to the most “controversial” threads...

flippinada · 29/09/2017 14:29

Charlie have you considered that perhaps your DC just aren't exceptional enough? On the other hand you may just have to make that sacrifice as it's terribly important to keep in with the right sort of people.

Some tips: insist on hand-washing at all times, gammon for every meal and regular rugby. You could also get a super home help who is good at making supper and simply adores tinies and other moppets. This will free up valuable bursary forum filling in time.

Oh, and remember on no amount must one use the T word. Very improper.

flippinada · 29/09/2017 14:30

On no account. Sorry, I was distracted by the Aga.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 29/09/2017 14:33

Just to put the record straight - Honeydragon was NOT banned. She has left the site after the fiasco with one of MNHQ who called her rude, after she got a bit irate that they kept deleting threads asking why other, trolly threads, weren't being deleted.
Honeydragon no longer feels this place is what it used to be either - and she no longer wants to be part of it, but she most certainly was not banned.

CockacidalManiac · 29/09/2017 14:36

If I wanted to see shit memes PortiaCastis, I’d go on Facebook.

CockacidalManiac · 29/09/2017 14:38

Especially shit memes quoting someone with a name resembling a Spice Girls lyric.

derxa · 29/09/2017 14:42

Isaac Crumb Grin

endehors · 29/09/2017 14:45

We need Isaac Crumb to sort this shit out.

He would too, that gentle giant. I actually feel rather fond of him.

Ginslinger · 29/09/2017 15:24

run on with your Grade 1 listed buildings, I own the entire village and my butler posts on MN for me

(Can I have the gammon recipe? For cook, obvs)

CharlieSierra · 29/09/2017 15:33

Charlie have you considered that perhaps your DC just aren't exceptional enough?

It could be that Ada. DD only got 25 grade A* at GCSE and is only predicted 15 A levels. I fear she's destined to be a disappointment despite showing early promise when she developed new techniques in paediatric neurosurgery during her work experience at GOSH. Clearly the school don't really want her.

Coconutspongexo · 29/09/2017 15:36

If your child hasn't skipped foundation years after med school going straight to being a high earning SpR then you're all failing parents.

Sorry.

flippinada · 29/09/2017 15:41

Ah, but does it have a gelateria and a jewellery quarter Gin? Otherwise, no dice.

That's really quite good Charlie but all of mine achieved that in utero. Don't feel bad though, they are exceptional after all. Have you been feeding them enough jacket potatoes for supper?

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 29/09/2017 16:07

Jacket potatoes?

Commoner.
In smart circles that’s worse than saying cunt.

It’s ‘baked potato’ 🙄
