Well you could do the whole gypsie wedding thing op and have bridesmaids dressed as vegs and yourself in a huge meringue dress with gherkins hanging off you Grin

Oh have it low key in the local pub and spend your cash better Wink

wheresmytaco, ok - I get it now...I'll take it!

LadyFlumpalot · 28/09/2017 07:40

Hold on. I'm confused.

Just googled "The Gherkin" as I was wondering why anyone would want a wedding reception in the office building by the side of the motorway.

Realised I've been calling the wrong building "The Gherkin" for my entire life.

Huh.

What did you think was the gherkin Lady?

LadyFlumpalot · 28/09/2017 11:03

I don't know! I live in Dorset so have only really been into London for school trips and such, we used to drive past a building on the very edge of London which is an unusual shape. On the M4 (or 3) and we all used to shout "The Gherkin! We're almost there!"

I really want to do some detective work now and figure out which building @LadyFlumpalot thought was the Gherkin... Grin

Dapplegrey2 · 28/09/2017 11:41

Ladyflump - were you thinking of the Ark, Hammersmith?

MiddleClassProblem · 28/09/2017 11:56

Worst case you go view it but find out its over budget (don't forget vat) and have a free drink whilst nosing round...

LadyFlumpalot · 28/09/2017 17:04

I've no idea which building it was. The ark looks likely but I don't think it was that far into London. It was right on the suburbs and as far as memory serves the motorway was raised up as you went past. I know memory can be a tricky thing though.

Are there any other affectionate nicknames for office blocks on the outskirts of London?

LadyFlumpalot · 28/09/2017 17:06

Actually, it might well have been the Ark.
