And to be a bit grumpy already about all the pointless chit chat and fuss and tat involved?

Might get lucky on the traffic front because surely it won't be Westminster Cathedral or St Paul's (divorced Catholic and royal protocol)?

I think they'll marry in Windsor registry office with a service of blessing and reception in the Castle, like Charles and Camilla (and the Wessexes, who married in the chapel).

Not sure about timings though - there's usually only one big royal event a year, and next year is the new baby Cambridge, but maybe because it's the third it won't be seen as quite so newsworthy. They do like to ration out their big stories.

If they want a family they'll need to get on with it - Meghan / Rachel is older than Harry (and William and Kate I think).

I'm a Republican but don't dislike them as human beings and tabloid celeb gossip fodder. I do think that it's outrageously hypocritical of Harry to berate the press as he has done and then allow a Vanity Fair feature - just proves he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

'If they want a family they'll need to get on with it - Meghan / Rachel is older than Harry (and William and Kate I think). '

Oh, there will be boy/girl designer twins just like all the rest with pre-screened embryos (wouldn't want any of those disabilities now, would we?).

herecomesthsun · 26/09/2017 11:47

Ancient - well that is part of it! It would be great in all sorts of ways, from my perspective, if Harry does go on to marry someone who is so much not "suitable" on paper but has a lot of great personal attributes.

Rafflesway · 26/09/2017 11:53

Not a royalist particularly but I just wish everyone would just leave them alone.

I think Harry is lovely and Meghan comes across to me as a very nice - stunning - lady. The two of them seem very happy together at the moment but the pressure exerted with all this constant engagement speculation is dreadful. Just leave them be!

SleepFreeZone · 26/09/2017 11:54

She's quite old to give him many children unless they crack on.

expatinscotland · 26/09/2017 12:01

Oh, c'mon, Sleep, she has plenty of time! All these clebs have boy/girl designer twins well into their 40s.

Leave them be Well she's gone and done an interview with a major magazine so clearly she doesn't want to be left alone. Nobody put a gun to her head to do an interview. She never would have got on the cover of Vanity Fair without being associated with Harry so she's milking the connection. Maybe she's not 100% confident he's in it for the long haul so is still trying to protect her acting career.

SleepFreeZone · 26/09/2017 12:48

Well I started having babies at 36 and it's been a nightmare to be frank. So I think arranging a royal wedding and then TTC etc is going to take over a year so they either need to crack on with it or he needs to let her go and start a family with someone else (assuming she wants one of course).

If he plays with her for a year or two and then goes and marries a 25 year old then he will go down in my estimation hugely.

blackteasplease · 26/09/2017 12:52

I'm not into the royals so in one way don't give a shit and would rather not hear.

But on other hand quite pleased one of them may be marrying a non white person! I didn't know she was divorced or Catholic so that's good too just for sake of mixing it up a bit!

raisedbyguineapigs · 26/09/2017 12:54

bananas the Cumberbatch tinhatters clearly have ishoos. I don't envy you having to put up with that when you're working!
Most of the bizarre Harry tinhatters seem to be Americans and quite openly racist. They can't believe that the Royal Family isn't actually a Disney movie, and that the handsome prince doesn't have to fall in love with a blonde blue eyed maiden. Its their issue with the whole Diana/ Charles marriage too. Its quite worrying how delusional these people are.

Redglitter · 26/09/2017 13:03

So it's clear that them being seen together is not considered appropriate

They were most definitely very publicly together at yesterdays event. Arrived holding hands and sat together no mistaking they were a couple

TieGrr · 26/09/2017 13:11

I don't know much about Meghan herself but there are some very obsessive Harry stans who have created an entire conspiracy theory about how they're not together and she's just stalking him.

I read a comment from someone yesterday claiming she robbed someone else's ticket to attended the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games and that's why she was escorted out by Harry's security team.

expatinscotland · 26/09/2017 13:14

You'd have to have screws loose in your tinhat to find Cumberbatch attractive. Apparently he's a total knob IRL, too.

bellabasset · 26/09/2017 13:33

When the new baby arrives Harry will be 6th in line to the throne and I don't think he has to ask for the Queen's permission to marry. I also would expect that if they do marry it is likely to be low key, probably in the Chapel at Windsor and might be a blessing preceded by a civil ceremony.

If she is accompanying him to official events then she is probably being advised on interaction with the presss.

WeddingFever · 26/09/2017 13:38

Do you really think the Royal family will allow a mixed race person to marry into the family?

Why? they wouldnt be the first, the current numbers 29 and 30 in the line of succession are mixed race, their mother Davinia Windsor married a Maori, Gary Lewis

(29) Senna Kowhai Lewis (b. 2010)

(30) Tāne Mahuta Lewis (b. 2012)

WeddingFever · 26/09/2017 13:39

Yes he does.

Redglitter · 26/09/2017 13:41

I think the fact she's now getting Royal protection officers is a clear indication that this is a very serious relationship. They're not going to do that for a casual girlfriend. I think that in itself is an indication an engagement is imminent.

Apparently she's winding up her acting commitments. I wouldn't be surprised if there's an announcement after the Invicitus Games are over

WeddingFever · 26/09/2017 13:54

Announcement to wedding is usually 4-5 months. William and Kate were engaged for a month before a press announcment in 11/2010, with the wedding in 04/11. This reflects the time frames for Charles/Diana, Andrew/Sarah etc.

She has RPOs in attendance now and Clarence House also issued the 'back off' statement to the press. www.royal.uk/statement-communications-secretary-prince-harry

wildworlds · 26/09/2017 14:00

If only we could, but they really shouldn't expect to have their cake and eat it. It's the price they have to pay for what is given to them. They'd worry if no interest was shown in them.

Royal protection officers? how appalling that the royals are once more taking highly trained police officers off an over- stretched police force for their own purpose.

@SerfTerf I didn't actually know MM was catholic hence why I was asking. Thank you for ballsing up my username twice though. Very patronising of you.

BananasAreGood , there are some tinfoilhatters who claim Kate is Jewish (Carole's was a Goldsmith but unrelated to THE Goldsmiths, as far as I know) and that that means the CofE will end up being headed by a Jew.

SerfTerf · 26/09/2017 16:45

I'm a newspaper-hatter who believes that Diana was an illegitimate daughter of Jimmy Goldsmith.

Does that count? It seems neater, somehow Smile
