And to be a bit grumpy already about all the pointless chit chat and fuss and tat involved?

Might get lucky on the traffic front because surely it won't be Westminster Cathedral or St Paul's (divorced Catholic and royal protocol)?

I take very little interest in The Royals but am quite keen on this match working out.
If only to see the raddled old racists explode.
I can do with out the 'Muslamic plot to infiltrate the Crown' conspiracy bollocks though

Serf, her ex has apparently written a sitcom about a man whose ex-wife marries into a royal family and he has to deal with sharing custody of the kids etc with a princess.

Tbh I think it's extraordinarily petty of him. It's not like she left him for Harry.

It would certainly widen the gene pool if they married and had children Wink not sure what Prince Phillip would think lol 😂 let's hope nobody asks him Hmm

I agree mrsdv. That's why Is love to see Harry and Megan get married.
serf Our RF are better than most at evolving, which is one of the reasons they are still there. I think Charles will completely get rid of the hangers on and a few palaces and just have a first family with a Royal residence and maybe a country estate. Then what's the point in replacing them with a presidential system? They already have little power. I now think they will just hang on. I like Charles. I think he'll be a better King than Wills. The Cambridges look like they like all the pomp and ceremony and money but not the work so much.

Heard on the radio yesterday that if they marry, she'll be known as Princess Rachel of Wales (Meghan being her middle name, apparently).

@QueenoftheAndals but she did leave him for Harry? There was overlap actually if you look at the real timeline and not the one that’s been shared by the PR house!

Sorry - she didn’t leave the husband, she left/overlapped with the boyfriend so yes you are right. And I need coffee.

And not like they have DC.

More grabby than petty, maybe?

I long for the day when this archaic institution is abolished and people are about as interested in their lives as they are in some two-bit zeleb from Towie.
^^ Amen to this. Get rid of the lot of them and open up the palaces full-time to visitors instead. It's not like any of them actually want to fulfil any of their (very few) responsibilities, they just enjoy the attention (on their terms) and having their lifestyle funded.

GoT has made being a bastard pretty cool, imo. I speak as one.

Although I think Jon Snow turns out not to be a bastard after all, so it's possibly back to square one :(

I didn't know Hewitt had married a divorcee!!

Report
herecomesthsun · 26/09/2017 08:54

He is the younger son.

She is older than him-36, divorced, apparently a cradle Catholic, mixed race and has appeared on American telly not wearing many clothes. Perfect in terms of rebellion.

She is also beautiful, has a social conscience and is media-aware, very important in understanding the life Harry has to lead.

I am not a royalist, but I wish them well and would be very interested in seeing the pictures if they get married Grin

The radio was wrong - her title would be Princess Henry/Harry of Wales. In which case, as with DoC they will doubtless supply some spurious duchy for them as alternate title.

Well she's a lot more interesting than Kate, that's for sure!

Actually she wont be Princes anything of anywhere, she isnt a princess and neither was Diana. She will be titled, like Diana was, as Name she choses to use (be that Meghan or Rachael) , Princess of Wales.

Two entirely different things Princess X of Wales, and X, Princess of Wales. Best illustrated by the Yorks, who are princessess. Princess Beatrice of York. She is a princess in her own right, it's not an acquired title by virue of marriage, like Diana.

If you want to really formal, Harry is: The Prince, Henry, of Wales as opposed to The Prince of Wales, Charles

Royal Dukedomes are even better Grin. Prince Michael of Kent is a second son, therefore only a prince, whilst his elder brother Prince Edward, but known as the Duke of Kent, but no-one ever calls him Prince Edward, similarly no one ever calls the Duke of Gloucester, Prince Richard

Harry will be 6th in line to throne - I very much doubt that he’d be allowed to have the full on state wedding that Wills had even if it was desired. It’s probably going to be something similar to Princess Zara.

Can I point out Serf that if, as predicted on the thread, they 'do they same as Zara' then it will be a few of us in Scotland who WILL be affected by road closures!!
(maybe not Expat as I think she's further west)

Princess Zara?
Zara Phillips (as was) is a commoner. She has no title. Both her parents agreed this at her birth.
