What the hell do you do in the bath?!

I'm sat here, have been for around 10 mins, in the bath and I'm BORED!!

I've just moved into a new house and this is the first place I've lived with a bath for years so I've forgotten how to do it.

I lit some candles (they do that on the telly), I tried reading but my book got wet, I watched the bathbomb fizz around for a bit... now what? Do I just lay here and try to forget the world?

I put music on on my phone, lie back and relax.

NotForSale · 21/09/2017 18:25

Take your rabbit in with you?

Fudgefase · 21/09/2017 18:27

Apparently - but I'm with you. I get in, wash, get out. Who can be bothered witting in your own muck waiting for the water to get cold.

Schmoopy · 21/09/2017 18:27

Enjoy a bit of uninterrupted me time... Wink

VinoTime · 21/09/2017 18:28

Usually hop in the bath once a week to unwind. I pop my laptop on top of the laundry hamper and stream an episode of whatever series I'm watching. It's bliss.

PlasticPatty · 21/09/2017 18:48

Shower. Lie in bath, lots of hot water. Shower again.
Clean the sodding bath. Now I need another...

AssignedPerfectAtBirth · 21/09/2017 18:58

Soooo many things to do in the bath.

Usually reading (but occasionally podcasts)
Sunday morning is for reading the Observer, which is a bit of a skill avoiding sogginess. Various other reading material. Never read borrowed books in the bath though.

Facial - exfoliate and apply a face mask.
The Clinique one with tea tree oil is brilliant. (Have run out and can't remember name but it's not 7 day scrub, that one is rubbish)

Apply a decent conditioner

Put a facecloth under your bum to prevent slippage

Put a facecloth on the side of the bath to put you ankles on sometimes.

Drink a really good cup of coffee

If hungover (often on Sunday morning), drink a litre of water

Shave your legs etc

I hate going on holiday/hotel break and discovering that there is no bath. Showers are boring, fine for getting out the door but baths are pure luxury. No bubbles or bath salts except perhaps epsom salts for me though. I like my fanny non itchy

Invest in a lovehoney; www.lovehoney.co.uk/sex-toys/vibrators/waterproof-vibrators/

A soak in the bath will never be the same again.

Not that I have!

AssignedPerfectAtBirth · 21/09/2017 19:10

Course you haven't Sherbrooke

Drivingmenuts · 21/09/2017 19:22

I haven't had a bath for two years since we moved to a new house. The bath is weirdly narrow and squashes my shoulders in a way no other bath has... so distracting I can't bear it.

I miss baths.

Close my eyes and daydream as the kids are locked out of the bathroom! Have a face pack and read a magazine or book

Keychanges · 21/09/2017 20:22

In one just now. Mumsnet, Facebook messenger, read a book sometimes in one sitting! Face pack and bubbles - not fizzy kind as that makes you dehydrate.

RetroHippy · 21/09/2017 20:29

Face mask, book/phone, wine, chocolate, waterproof bullet vibrator (thank you Tracey Cox).

No bubbles or smellies unless I want a grumpy fanjo afterwards.

Daytime baths are the best. So incredibly decadent.

MeMeMeMe123 · 21/09/2017 20:42

I'm certainly not lying in my own muck/stench/whatever....

For me, just being in water is incredibly relaxing! i love them... not for functional washing per se, rather a sure-fire way to wind down, exhale.

hot water top up start bath cooler, get warmer, then cooler again.
book
phone & earphones
cup of ginger and lemon tea
rolled up towel behind head

my happy place that doesnt break the bank :)

phoenixrose314 · 21/09/2017 20:44

Sigh audibly and imagine all my stresses emptying out... its almost like a mindfulness meditation, the hot water scrubbing away the day's woes and revitalising your soul!

I do like to read in the bath but it can become a bit fiddly and I don't dare take in a book I love just in case.... I listen to music and sing along, pretend I'm a pop star in a music video.... I put a face mask on and pretend it's working. Sometimes I'll even have a cheeky wank, if the mood strikes me.

Have no idea how somebody could not enjoy a bath, if only for the hour of peace from a grumbling husband and clingy children!!

Leapfrog44 · 21/09/2017 21:23

DUH you bring in your laptop, turn off the lights and watch your favourite drama or read magazines.

VerbenaGirl · 21/09/2017 21:25

Listen to The Archers on catch-up on my iPad. And relaaaaaaaax......

OneMoreFrog · 21/09/2017 21:46

I like the water hot so when it cools down I rerun the water and just basically lie still, I find the best ideas come to me in the bath, coz I am so relaxed

HornyAsFuck · 21/09/2017 22:23

Just rub one out, you know you wanna.

clumsyduck · 21/09/2017 22:26

😂😂😂

mummaCL · 21/09/2017 22:39

Radio on, book to hand, water hot enough to be comfortable. Glass of wine and stay there as long as possible without interruption (My family know better than that!!) 😉
