What the hell do you do in the bath?!

I'm sat here, have been for around 10 mins, in the bath and I'm BORED!!

I've just moved into a new house and this is the first place I've lived with a bath for years so I've forgotten how to do it.

I lit some candles (they do that on the telly), I tried reading but my book got wet, I watched the bathbomb fizz around for a bit... now what? Do I just lay here and try to forget the world?

For the short (like me), I'd recommend two bath pillows, one for the head and one wedged between feet and bath end. Possibly also a rubber mat for the bum....

KurriKurri · 20/09/2017 21:42

Read my Kindle.
Make myself a beard and bra out of bubbles.
Sing show tunes.

Phone is safe so long as you don't have it plugged in, charging :(

Audio books or The Archers works for me or something on the iplayer.

MummaTwinkleToes · 20/09/2017 21:49

DH brought me pizza in the bath once, felt a bit slummy but did eat it contorted leaning over the bath so as not to drop pepperoni in my bubbles.

Have had a few near misses falling asleep whilst reading in bath on uninsured kindle fire and iPad.

Polyethyl · 20/09/2017 21:56

I count my toes and then I wiggle them. And then I ponder on life, the universe and everything and then I wiggle my toes again.
Eventually I actually wash.
But then I settle back to gaze at nothing in particular.
Heaven.

I saw this today and liked it www.etsy.com/uk/listing/507222925/bath-caddy-bath-shelf-bath-plank-bath?ref=shop_home_active_1

but I can't remember the last time I used a bath. Showers all the way here and then a lie on the bed, wrapped in warm towels, unless it's a quick morning job.

sashh · 21/09/2017 07:27

The bathroom light bulb I have is also a bluetooth speaker and has coloured lights so I can listen to music with the lights changing colour in time with the music.

I also have a second hand kindle I use in the bath.

And the cat sometimes curls up on the corner of the bath to keep me company.

OP buy yourself some things that take time, face mask or deep conditioning treatment, you will soon get back to the art of bathing.

Enjoy the boredom......oh for a bit of boredom, in the bath with a large g&t and a funny podcast

Glass of wine or bubbles, good book and relax

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 21/09/2017 17:49

Watch Netflix on my iPad, I have a special shelf for my iPad to stop it taking an unforeseen dip.

Maireadplastic · 21/09/2017 17:52

I am honestly amazed at all the TV watching! I just day dream. I'm a little alarmed at so many needing stimulation or entertainment. Just lie there and think.

Carouselfish · 21/09/2017 17:56

Read a book or listen to an audio one and drink Baileys.

redsquirrel2 · 21/09/2017 18:03

I go on mumsnet!

aspoonfulofyourownmedicine · 21/09/2017 18:03

I usually fall asleep in it :) I tend to have baths in the winter when I'm cold to the bones or if I need to chill out before bed.

I love either the Lush French Kiss bubble bar (if I'm feeling flush) or radox sleep therapy or Sanctuary Foaming Bath in the bath and my ipod with chillout music on it. I've often been woken up by my husband, in a stone cold bath when I've been out like a light for hours x

HolgerDanske · 21/09/2017 18:04

Depends on my mood.

Sometimes I just lie there and relax.

Sometimes I read.

Sometimes I have wine and chocolate.

HolgerDanske · 21/09/2017 18:04

And yes I have been known to sleep in the bath as well.

BeyondNoone · 21/09/2017 18:04

All you short people complaining about bathing while short, you wanna try doing it when you’re tall! 😄

Jojofjo44 · 21/09/2017 18:09

Sometimes I do nothing and enjoy the sweet silence.
Other times I put music on and sing my tunes to the neighbours.
Others I ponder finishing writing the next GoT book and helping ode GRR Martin out.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 21/09/2017 18:10

I love my bath.
Epsom salts in it to help with the aching muscles and joints
No bath bombs - I don't like the smell!
I have a board that sits over the bath, on which I can put all the bits I need - chocolate, wine, book, tablet, phone etc.
I do sometimes fall asleep but quite often I'll just read the book, or possibly play on the tablet.
Then when I've soaked long enough, I scrub myself and depilate and get out. :)
(I'm just the right height for my claw-foot bath - can cover all the essentials with water without slipping under, so I'm not too worried about falling asleep.)

Viviennemary · 21/09/2017 18:11

I just relax. And smell my nice soap. And let the water go a little bit cool so I can top it up again. Lovely!

seafoodeatit · 21/09/2017 18:20

I just relax these days, I do like to read in the bath but I just want time to do nothing more often than not now.
