What the hell do you do in the bath?!

I'm sat here, have been for around 10 mins, in the bath and I'm BORED!!

I've just moved into a new house and this is the first place I've lived with a bath for years so I've forgotten how to do it.

I lit some candles (they do that on the telly), I tried reading but my book got wet, I watched the bathbomb fizz around for a bit... now what? Do I just lay here and try to forget the world?

I hook my iPad over the back of the door and watch Netflix!

I'm going to have a bath in a minute I think!

MuddlingThroughLife · 20/09/2017 19:51

I have one of these for reading in the bath...

I’ve just got in the bath now. I have one every night but I’m 32 weeks pregnant and massively sore.

Maelstrop · 20/09/2017 19:57

Read a book or my iPad. Go on my phone. Snooze-highly likely as I relax totally in there.

2gorgeousboys · 20/09/2017 20:02

I love a soak in the bath and have been known to stay in well over an hour. I take wine (or a cup of tea if it's in the morning), my kindle or iPad, light candles and relax in peace.

In fact I think I might go for a bath now....

Springersrock · 20/09/2017 20:06

I'm not a bath fan either

I feel like I should appreciate it more after I've gone to the effort or running it, but after I've shaved my legs, armpits, maybe pruned my bikini line a bit, had a hunt around for any ingrown hairs to poke and had a wash I've run out of things to do

I tried reading but found my glasses steamed up

happy2bhomely · 20/09/2017 20:06

Off the back of this thread, I have just gone and got myself some cherry bakewell shower gel, a bottle of wine, some olives and some minstrels.

I'm going to put a stool in the bathroom and put Madmen on the laptop and soak.

I haven't had a bath in ages.

Theycalledmethewildrose · 20/09/2017 20:07

Am bored whenin themtoo. The only thing they are any good for is if you want to put a leave in conditioner in your hair or shaving your legs with a razor while using a face mask but even then your body gets covered with hairs. Reading in a bath isn't for me at all, too much of a flap trying to top up the water and I don't see the point when I could just go into my lovely bed instead.!

I remember staying in a hotel with an offer that included some sort of relaxation bath with essential oils. The bath kept changing colour and there was a cd with the sound of birds singing. There was a hard chair beside it where you were meant to put your dressing gown. I got out and sat on the chair for ten minutes before going back outside.

Funnily enough I really like Jacuzzis especially outdoor ones and would happily stay in them for a long enough time (well thirty minutes).

Sayyouwill · 20/09/2017 20:07

I'm pleased my failed bath has inspired so many people to have successful ones! Good luck to you all!

Read MN on my phone. WhatsApp my friends. Instagram. Chat on the phone to my mum.

45 minutes often pass in this manner.

Occasionally I wonder if I would be electrocuted to death if I dropped my phone but then I see something more interesting on the internet and carry on.

I love baths. I catch up on listening to The Archers or Simon Mayo''s Confessions.

ItsNachoCheese · 20/09/2017 20:15

Im about to run a bath and ive got my music on so going to chill for a bit

donajimena · 20/09/2017 20:17

I used to love a bath but I just don't enjoy them anymore. It used to be a real occasion for me to go in with trash magazines and I'd read at least two! Now I only have one if I need pruning.

romany4 · 20/09/2017 20:18

Play Queen very loudly and sing along while I beautify myself

Theycalledmethewildrose · 20/09/2017 20:20

Scum. That's the other problem with them. You get (clean) and then have to get a detergent and a cloth and start cleaning the sides of it, leaving you with dirty smelly hands or sweaty hands from wearing gloves.

Iheartjordanknight · 20/09/2017 20:21

Runningyoga pretty sure you can't electrocute yourself with a battery operated phone 😂

I read, watch Netflix or read the internet

PollyFlint · 20/09/2017 20:27

I could happily stay in the bath for hours. I usually take a nice long cold drink with me and either read a book or listen to an audiobook or a podcast. I'm fond of beauty products and stuff so I'll usually do a face mask or a body scrub or something as well.

MummaTwinkleToes · 20/09/2017 20:55

I love a bath. Pre kids DH and I would bath together and talk and drink wine. When pregnant I would soak for ages watching my baby kick. Now DS1 aged 3 always jumps in with me or throws all his bath toys in for me to play with! Last Saturday watched lots of madmen while DH kept DS1 away and ate choc biscuits 😊

KimchiLaLa · 20/09/2017 21:17

I sit in it for 20 minutes before getting too hot and leaving.

I always think I will do a face mask, have some wine, watch the iPad etc, but I usually forget the wine, the wifi doesn't work...blah blah.

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 20/09/2017 21:28

I love a good wallow in a hot, steamy bath. Something to read finishes it off for me.

Being short, I recommend a bath mat to stabilise the buttocks. I used to have a great bath pillow that was larger than usual until it got a puncture.

purpledonkey · 20/09/2017 21:29

Wash. Feel hot. Get out feeling like I need a shower.

gottachangethename1 · 20/09/2017 21:36

As a bath lover, this thread has been an eye opener. So many of you read, watch tablets etc. I feel dull by comparison- get in, wash all over, lay back and relax for 5 minutes, then get out. The thought of taking phone into bathroom or kindle, makes me edgy as does a book.
