What the hell do you do in the bath?!

I'm sat here, have been for around 10 mins, in the bath and I'm BORED!!

I've just moved into a new house and this is the first place I've lived with a bath for years so I've forgotten how to do it.

I lit some candles (they do that on the telly), I tried reading but my book got wet, I watched the bathbomb fizz around for a bit... now what? Do I just lay here and try to forget the world?

Looks like there's a market for grown up bath toys!!!

I watch something on the tablet while plucking eyes brows and lip and chin and cheeks sometimes read and sometimes cautiously look on my phone but hold the phone out of the bath over the bath mat so if I drop it it won't land in the bath!!!

InDubiousBattle · 20/09/2017 13:55

I never know what to do in baths either, surely ! I have been known to tell dp i'm going to have a nice bath and then sat on the loo mnetting before having a quick shower! In our house 'i'm going for a bath' is just code for 'I'm going to hide from you and the kids for half an hour'

Sayyouwill · 20/09/2017 13:56

@itsbetterthanabox I'm quite short so I had my tiptoes against the bottom of the bath and my head kept slipping in too so I accidentally threw my book in when trying to stop myself slipping under Sad

I always find the thought of a bath nice and relaxing OP then once in it I get bored and overheated lol

Rejectedwoman · 20/09/2017 13:56

Lay back and get comfortable and await the arrival of child needing a shit

NicolasFlamel · 20/09/2017 13:56

Play Blush (not in a creepy way) my kids have some fun bath toys.
Whenever I try to read I get the book soggy.
Oh also sometimes pretend I'm in a movie and I look all sassy with my hair up and loads of bubbles around me.

Sayyouwill · 20/09/2017 13:57

The kids are at nursery, DH is at work... im just laying here all soggy!

I have never read anything in the bath in my life!

I like it deep and really hot and once i've finally eased myself right in the deep relaxation that comes over me is enough to send me into a blank and lovely trance for a good 5/10 mins. After that i swirl the water/bubbles about a for 5 mins or so and watch the patterns and then once i can feel the water losing it's heat a bit i'll do my face scrub, wash ect. and then get out.

SardinesAreSwimming · 20/09/2017 13:58

Read or radio.
Heaven.
I think Im amphibious

Laiste · 20/09/2017 13:58

Now i want a bath and i can't bloody have one!

StepAwayFromCake · 20/09/2017 13:59

Blow bubbles.

I don't have a bath to get clean. That's what showers are for.

I have a bath like others have a glass of wine. To relax, to shut myself off from the world for a while.

So, what do I do in the bath? Nothing. Just...chill.

Then I add more hot water, turn over and blow bubbles.

Eat peaches and oranges while reading a book.

vivaVasLagas · 20/09/2017 14:00

DH put a big TV in the ensuite so mostly binge-watch Netflix.

Dahlietta · 20/09/2017 14:00

I think.

I have never been able to lay in a bath for hours with candles and books.... But I find myself laying there about 10 minutes, just closing my eyes and ignoring the arguing coming from the children or the dog barking cos they're arguing..... then I wait..... 10 minutes is usually the longest before the children notice I'm in the bath and of course need to poo.... or they need to get in too....but usually they need to poo so I end up getting out rather than sniff their whiff!!!

so yeah.... I dont know how to do it either.

Itsgoodforthegarden · 20/09/2017 14:02

Read book or papers. Listen to the radio. Look at mumsnet / Facebook. Put a face mask on, conditioner, drink wine/ water/ but not hot drinks. Just be happy no one is there to bug me & top up the hot water 😁💧

Maudlinmaud · 20/09/2017 14:03

The best toys are the wind up variety but dd has a little live pet turtle thing and it's OK, no winding necessary. I also like the colour changing barbies. But again I get bored fairly quickly.

SolemnlySwear2010 · 20/09/2017 14:03

Oh god i love a good bath!

I read or watch tv shows on the tablet. Also papmer myself by using face scrubs/hair masks etc.

I usually always have a glass (or two) of wine and some candles on.

Havent had a bath for ages as my DD will try to climb in with me and its not very relaxing! Might attempt to go for one tonight when she is in bed

QueenArseClangers · 20/09/2017 14:03

DH got me one of these:

What the hell do you do in the bath?!
yumchoc · 20/09/2017 14:03

Oh I wish I could have a bath in peace I would put on a face mask eat choc and drink wine bliss

HadronCollider · 20/09/2017 14:03

Adore baths. We have no shower. I read, websurf or watch Netflix or Amazon. Can be in there for hours, literally.

Bluntness100 · 20/09/2017 14:04

I'm with you on the boredom. Used to love the idea of them, took ages to run the bloody thing, I'd get in, look around and think what now, sit there for five mins before getting out bored shitless. So I gave up trying, strictly showers now.

WashBasketsAreUs · 20/09/2017 14:04

I read the paper.

Bratsandtwats · 20/09/2017 14:05

Read. For a very long time. With hot water top-ups.

This.

However, this house only has a shower and no bath Sad
