The thing that really makes me shake my head about my cousin is that she has her health insurance under the ACA. She is very worried about losing that insurance (as well she should be!). But she just doesn't make the connection. It's Congress, doncha see? I'm planning to throw in a few 'Trump's fault' comments when we talk about it.

I'm going down to spend 10 days with her to rest and relax. I really will too, she has a beautiful garden and is truly a peaceful, restful person to be around. This may sound a bit 'woo' but she really seems to exude a sweetness of spirit and a sense of calm. Needless to say, we won't be discussing politics! And least not over wine in the garden!

It's funny, our mothers were sisters and our fathers were similar 'types'. Yet she and I are as different as chalk and cheese. Luckily, we're different in complementary ways.

I've stayed away from the TV today. The bits of Scrotus' speech I've heard just give me the rage and DH isn't here to 'vent' with. So I'm escaping by re-watching season 6 of Call the Midwife. It was just released today on Netflix here.

Breitbarters think his speech was fantastic and everything is forgotten and he is their hero again That only took a couple of days. They really aren't capable of critical, independent thought, are they?

It is very depressing but so is the fact that the "flat earthers" movement consists of millions of people. Some people just operate on a different plane not reality

(CNN) Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team is reaching back more than a decade in its investigation of Paul Manafort, a sign of the pressure Mueller is placing on President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman.

The FBI's warrant for a July search of Manafort's Alexandria, Virginia, home said the investigation centered on possible crimes committed as far back as January 2006, according to a source briefed on the investigation.

The broad time frame is the latest indication that Mueller's team is going well beyond Russian meddling during the campaign as part of its investigation of Trump campaign associates. Manafort, who has been the subject of an FBI investigation for three years, has emerged as a focal point for Mueller.
