AIBU- Someone has used my unusual baby name

I wanted my baby to have a one of a kind unique name.
I made up a name that I love. It's definetly never been used before.
(I realise this sounds dodgy already)

Anyway, my baby is 7 months old and someone in my town has just given birth and used the name.
I actually feel really gutted about it.

I realise I am about to be flamed in the comments.
BUt how can I feel less gutted about this? Meh

OP really can't think she made it up. She said it could be a surname - Mo Farrah - so even if she didn't know the teen mom/others I'm sure most people have heard of Mo Farrah. So really all she did was take a surname and make it into a 1st name Hmm

I quite like the name Phryne, although associate it too much with the TV show.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 09/09/2017 22:42

Phryne sounds like the noise my car makes when it won't start. How is it pronounced?

SmilingButClueless · 09/09/2017 22:45

It's Fry-Knee in an Australian accent, not sure if that's the universal pronunciation.

itsbeenaverylongweek · 09/09/2017 22:46

IlostItInTheEarlyNineties it's fry-nee. There's a series of books about an amateur detective set in Australia - Phryne Fisher

toastandbutterandjam · 09/09/2017 22:48

PelvicFloorClenchReminder Go for it! I reckon someone will guess it!
I'm not Miranda, sorry Grin

Sayyouwill I'm not - I've never actually heard of that name before!

Lovingmybear2 · 09/09/2017 22:48

imnottoofussed · 09/09/2017 22:49

cheesydoesit · 09/09/2017 22:49

Oh my God, I've just read the reccomended threads from a PP. The hamster casserole thread is killing me.

Racingraccoons · 09/09/2017 22:49

Come back OP

imnottoofussed · 09/09/2017 22:49

Toast is it Roseanne

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 09/09/2017 22:58

Ah Fry nee is quite a pleasant name. I thought it was pronounced Ffrrine.
I did read a whole book once convinced the main character (Persephone) was pronounced Percy phone. Blush

DjangoUnchained · 09/09/2017 22:58

Thank you so much to all the posters who said Marrowfat. The farrow's tin is the one from my childhood. I loved those tinned peas! I had forgotten all about them until I saw the photo.

I've wondered for years why Farrah made me think of peas and now I know.

silverbell64 · 09/09/2017 23:02

why would you want an "original name" anyway and why would you get pissed off that someone else used it.

OP I think you're silly on all accounts.

BackieJerkhart · 09/09/2017 23:06
