In regards to Russia's Zapad exercises - it seems its a propaganda thing and news stations are doing Russia's job for them by spreading it yle.fi/uutiset/osasto/news/finnish_defence_minister_western_countries_have_taken_the_bait_over_russias_zapad_exercises/9825937

Interesting piece from The Daily Beast.

Why Robert Mueller May Have to Give Donald Trump Immunity

"If the president fights a subpoena, the special prosecutor can make him a deal: Testify and it won’t be used against you (sort of)."

There's a bit further down that I found interesting -

"Immunity prevents the prosecutors from using Trump’s testimony against him, and from using any evidentiary leads gained from his testimony. But assuming that proof of Trump’s criminal offenses has already been discovered—such as proof of his obstruction of justice in seeking to halt the Flynn investigation or firing Comey—then despite giving him immunity, that proof can legally be used to prosecute him. And despite immunity, Trump can be prosecuted for perjury for giving false testimony."

Interesting indeed. Smile

Natsku That hadn't occurred to me Blush

Trump hasn't tweeted for a few days.

Today is Sept 11th.

Just piss off Fox and effing friends!

On 9/11, "Fox & Friends" asks: Will liberals try to remove Flight 93 memorial like they did Confederate statues?

Fuck off Fox.

Watched Trump at a 9/11 memorial service on CNN. He makes my skin crawl even/especially? on such an awful occasion.

lionheart · 11/09/2017 17:02

Did he have trouble with the silence part?

AcrossthePond55 · 11/09/2017 17:22

Even if Scrotus is given immunity from criminal prosecution, he can still be impeached. Impeachment takes place after a trial by the Senate, which is not a criminal trial, therefore any immunity granted by the courts is irrelevant. There is no criminal conviction or sentence in a Senate trial. It is strictly to decide whether the POTUS has committed an impeachable offense and whether or not to remove them from office. Remember, B Clinton was facing impeachment and removal when there were absolutely NO 'civilian' criminal charges even pending.

Personally, I told DH that I don't care if he's given immunity from criminal prosecution as long as he's removed from office. He is such a danger making him 'pay' for anything he's done must come secondary to the security and reputation of the country. I don't care if he's driven away from the WH in a golden coach-and-four pulled by unicorns with rainbow manes and tails as long as he is GONE!

Did anyone notice during the moment of silence for the 9/11 victims how he stood there fidgeting like an impatient 2 year old? He was twitching and grimacing with his eyes screwed shut whilst Melania stood as still as stone with head bowed and eyes closed.

TheNorthWestPawsage · 11/09/2017 17:30

Lest you forget...

Thousands of people died on 9/11 and Trump’s initial reaction was happiness his building was the tallest again

BREAKING: Classified Intel Reports Reveal Trump Campaign Illegally Negotiated with the Russians During the Campaign

2/ This feed has been focused on this issue for months. We know Sessions, Manafort, and Gordon all negotiated with the Russians illegally.

3/ Sessions discussed sanctions with Kislyak in his Senate office in September '16, and Manafort and Gordon negotiated sanctions at the RNC.

4/ Sessions' negotiations occurred after he and Trump had been briefed on Russian hacking on August 17, making them illegal and collusion.

5/ If the Russia probes had turned up nothing but that Trump negotiated with Russia after he knew it was attacking us, it'd be ballgame.

6/ Old arguments (cf. Dershowitz) that the Logan Act is "dead law" are blown away by the fact the negotiations occurred during cyberwar.

7/ When you offer, as Trump did, to unilaterally drop sanctions when you know Russia is attacking us, that is a collusive quid pro quo.

8/ Remember that—as I've said for awhile—Team Trump can only claim "no collusion" because it's lied to the public about what the word means.

9/ Collusion does not require any involvement whatsoever in Russian hacking. It requires a quid pro quo, which these negotiations prove.

10/ Fact: COLLUSION, CRIMES, and a COVER-UP have been proven. It's all about strengthening the case and determining consequences, now.

This about says it all, doesn't it? It may have been three years ago, but I'm sure the same sentiment is uppermost in his mind today, as it was then.

It's really horrifying perking and there still doesn't seem to be much help other than aid from charities, which was being blocked (I'm not sure if that's still the case).

Shockingly, I read somewhere that Boris Johnson was one of the first western political figures to say anything about the genocide.

From Pain's Daily Beast link:

Russian operatives hiding behind false identities used Facebook’s event management tool to remotely organize and promote political protests in the U.S. ...
The Facebook events—one of which echoed Islamophobic conspiracy theories pushed by pro-Trump media outlets—are the first indication that the Kremlin’s attempts to shape America’s political discourse moved beyond fake news and led unwitting Americans into specific real-life action.
“This is the next step,” Clint Watts, a former FBI agent and expert on Russia’s influence campaign, told The Daily Beast. “The objective of influence is to create behavior change. The simplest behavior is to have someone disseminate propaganda that Russia created and seeded. The second part of behavior influence is when you can get people to physically do something.”

The "events" were promoted using paid ads, according to the article.
