To think people get as much pleasure out of washing as I do?

Just down to choosing fabric softener, it's a joyous experience! Putting the smelly stuff in, getting the clean stuff out. It's just wonderful.

I love to see my lovely husbands brightly coloured boxers wafting in the breeze knowing what a lovely body he has.....mmmm turning into perve washer woman lol

BabychamSocialist · 02/09/2017 21:09

I must admit, smelling different fabric softeners is often my highlight of a shopping trip.

The actual process of washing bores me to tears though. Now ironing, that's a different story - I fucking love ironing.

Cailleach666 · 02/09/2017 21:11

Loving the laundry club.X..

Fluffyears · 02/09/2017 21:24

Nah it's just meh to me. I have eczema so can't use surrender but live in Scotland with soft water so think it's ok. I love hanging out washing when the weather holds up.

Ineedmorelemonpledge · 02/09/2017 21:29

First rule of laundry club...

grecian100 · 02/09/2017 21:37

I had a complete life changing epiphany some years ago when I bought clothing on eBay, ripped open the packaging and the most beautiful smell wafted out. It was like the ad where the smell is represented by floating flowers and butterflies Blush Anyway.....I made a life affirming decision to only buy expensive powders (used to buy supermarket value as cleaning power is the same) and fabric softener. It has added a completely new layer to what was previously a chore. I also love watching the machine when it is in its lather stage Blush

Mind you I lived abroad for a few years and had a top loading machine that swirled the clothes around in dirty water, that you then had to manually rinse. No amount of luscious scents would have made that experience better.

grecian100 · 02/09/2017 21:42

Don't want to put a dampener on the joyous tone of the thread, but I was most eager with enthusiastic anticipation on trying out Zoflora in the wash. I was rather deflated when 2 capfuls only produced a slight scent that could only be detected by the most sensitive of olfactory glands Sad

Comfort intense is my new favourite Smile

I dont know why but fabric conditioner makes the fabric conditioner compartment all manky. I do love Unstoppables though. Tescos Ambience ones are lovely. But i cant for the life of me figure out why my tumble drier kills all that lovely fragrance and im left with no scent. Ive tried all the dryer sheets and have had no luck.

nothingontelly · 02/09/2017 22:28

Do people really not iron? What about blouses? Shirts? Kids school uniform?

Really??????

missmollyhadadolly · 02/09/2017 23:02

There is something satisfying about fresh laundry. Even the word sounds nice...laundered.

I've had itchy legs for years. I ran out of fabric conditioner a year ago and so had to wash clothes without it. No more itchy legs!

BumWad · 02/09/2017 23:04

Yup love it too.

From the washing to drying it on the line.

DH does the ironing Smile

user1498726699 · 02/09/2017 23:18

I also like to stand and watch the machine for a bit when it's all bubbley Grecian. I even tell the DCs to come and watch and they look at me like Confused.

I also like to stand and look at my whites on the line on a sunny day.

HATE sorting it, carrying to the machine, loading it and putting it in with the detergent, unloading, carrying to the line/tumble dryer, pegging it, taking it in, folding and putting away though.

BabychamSocialist · 02/09/2017 23:40

I'm looking forward to the cold weather because NOTHING is better than frost-dried clothing. I look forward to winter every year.

DameDoom · 02/09/2017 23:52

Hydrogen peroxide - food strength off Amazon +any old bio+ nice sunny line drying is the ultimate in gorgeous whites. Gets rid of stubborn period stains in a jiff.

paxillin · 03/09/2017 00:03

I used to enjoy it when it was just me. Lovely white sheets and my favourite clothes. Now with teenagers' socks, filthy school uniforms and a never ending mountain of towels it isn't that lovely any more.

stardust18 · 03/09/2017 00:05

I'm the same, I love it!! I have 3 fabric conditioners on the go so I don't get use to the smell.
On sunny days I find myself looking for things to wash. I love to see it blowing on the line outside. I love putting it away and having a empty washing basket.
God how sad am I Grin

BBTHREE76 · 03/09/2017 02:52

I am also the same. I use a particular laundry detergent but i am always changing which fabric softener and lenor unstoppables accompany it. I am also a huge fan of colour catchers and use tumble dryer sheets too. I love getting a load of washing done and having a good drying day so I can get it out on the washing line. I do iron, but only stuff I can't avoid like school uniform, and I really don't enjoy ironing. I find hanging certain stuff straight onto hangers straight away reduces the need for ironing. (That's my excuse for barely ironing anyway Blush)

nothingontelly · 03/09/2017 08:05

So glad I'm not the only one. I also find myself looking for things to wash on a nice day, and making things smell nice. Ignoring the fact the kitchen cupboards and fridge need a good clean!

Littlegoth · 03/09/2017 08:07

Haha yes! I'm the same.

Not ironing though ....

WhooooAmI24601 · 03/09/2017 08:15

I love doing the laundry. A sick, sick part of me looks forwards to Thursday nights as it's the night I sort it into baskets ready for washing on Friday.

I also love to watch it all drying on the line, and smell it once it's dry as outdoors-dried washing is my favourite smell.

The dog now refuses to get out of her bed 90% of the day because she knows I'll whip it out from underneath her and fold it into the washing machine to make it smell lovely again, and the cats often find their blankets pegged out on the line and stare balefully at me with dark thoughts til the blankets are returned. DH thought I was a lunatic until we had the DC and they both love laundry as much as I do! Now he suspects he's the odd one out.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 03/09/2017 08:16

I'm the same. Love washing, love hanging it all out, even love ironing. It's my favourite bit of housework 😀

Cailleach666 · 03/09/2017 08:19

WhooooAmI24601 - You only wash on Friday?

I wash every day of the week, usually 10 loads a week.
