To think people get as much pleasure out of washing as I do?

Just down to choosing fabric softener, it's a joyous experience! Putting the smelly stuff in, getting the clean stuff out. It's just wonderful.

I don't think Bluntness comes across as a negative poster. (IIRC she was the poster who gave us howls of delight by trying on the monstrous pink M&S dress?)
But even if she did, it's a bit off - and derailing - to bring stuff from other threads onto another one.

I have just stood sniffing all the softeners in Aldi as I bought a top off eBay, and it smells amazing. I messaged the owner to ask what they used and they said it was from Aldi. I think I have picked up the correct one. I am about to start the washing so if my guess was correct I will be doing a little happy dance! 😂

DameDoom · 02/09/2017 16:44

Strangely, I love doing a machine maintenance wash. I love soda crystals - so many uses - and putting an empty machine on 90 degrees makes me feel like a decadent oligarch's wife

Crumblevision · 02/09/2017 16:45

Nacho I am the same

Lucisky · 02/09/2017 16:47

I am very pleased when the washing is done, dried and put away, I must say. Then watch in horror as the basket gets filled up again. Washing? Naah, that's boring, but I get a strange pleasure from seeing it drying on the line on a sunny day.

Dancinginthemidnight · 02/09/2017 16:49

I love doing laundry. I especially love pegging it out on the line with matching pegs and in order. I also love hanging it on the airer. I don't love putting it away though unfortunately.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/09/2017 16:49

I use anything non-tested (lots of own brands are, I'm not a devotee to any one, bit of a detergent whore , me ) and I've recently bought myself an EcoEgg.

OK, it is a bi meh on whites but fine for anything that needs a general wash and brilliant on things that you can't use detergent (like the towelling cover for my Shark steamer)

Mummyoflittledragon · 02/09/2017 16:49

Totally see where you're coming from. I've just gone into Comfort Sensations range.

Bluntness. I thought it was a joke. Your posts tend for the most part to be to the point and can be blunt as per your name. They can also be witty and comical and enjoyable to read. I thought the post was amusing, not attacking you.

Dancinginthemidnight · 02/09/2017 16:49

I also stand watching it blowing in the breeze.

WafflyVersatile1 · 02/09/2017 16:51

I like it. I only use Fairy softener but vary the powder.

NormaSmuff · 02/09/2017 16:52

love putting it on the line,

teaortequila23 · 02/09/2017 16:52

OP would you like to do mine I have a mountain of clothes waiting for me! 😞😭

NormaSmuff · 02/09/2017 16:52

i hate having an empty washing basket

BlackberryLassi · 02/09/2017 16:53

danceing as much as I love laundry I never get the matching pegs or putting things in a certain order Grin

SpottedGingham · 02/09/2017 16:54

I enjoy doing washing too. It's never seemed a chore to me! Blush

NormaSmuff · 02/09/2017 16:55

i am talking to myself here i feel.
i dont like strong smelling detergents.
i like fairy the best.
i dont use fabric conditioner, dont see the point.

i hate persil non bio as it reminds me of somewhere in particular an is very cloying.

TheSecondOfHerName · 02/09/2017 16:57

My feelings about laundry are fairly neutral.

Is this a safe place to admit that I enjoy sewing on nametapes and Guide/Scout badges?

spankhurst · 02/09/2017 16:58

I don't actively enjoy any household chores as I am lazy, but clothes washing is one of the less annoying ones. I adore the smell of line-dried clothes, it's up there with a baby's hair smell for me.

WafflyVersatile1 · 02/09/2017 16:58

When I don't use fabric conditioner i find clothes look more wrinkley. I dont like ironing, so fabric softener it is. I do live in a hard water area though and apparently that is why.

NormaSmuff · 02/09/2017 16:58

ooh er,
i am not sure - i think that might be a step too far

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/09/2017 17:00

Oh yes to matching pegs , in fact I've sifted through mine and rehomed the ones which aren't Lakeland Flower ones.
Now just need to persuade DH to hang washing properly Hmm
He throws things over the line and pegs it randomly .

Thats LTB territory , right? Or UnderthePatio if I plan it well.

AllTheWittyNamesAreGone · 02/09/2017 17:00

Cannot stand smelly washing, no fabric softener here and non smelly powder too

I cannot explain the joy i get from looking at a full line of washing hanging out.
Dp calls it my porn when I get up to look at it from the window many, many timesWink

flumpybear · 02/09/2017 17:00

Washing is a bearable house chore but fucking HATE putting mine away 👿 .... so I don't! 😮
