Fish N Chips

Okay ... crazy one for you ... currently on holiday with my DP my DC and three DSC

Tonight we ordered our meals at a restaurant on site.. my meal, my son and one of the step children meal arrived, the others didn't. So immediately we asked where the other meals where and the restaurant apologised and said they had forgotten. They offered us free fish and chips from the site chippy which we accepted.
While we were waiting for the chips my son and two of the step children went back to eat the food from the restaurant.

My other DSC went back in a bit after to eat half of "my" meal with his sister, but she'd eaten all the double cheeseburger and chips. Anyway got back to the caravan and DSS who had nothing to eat joined us and the 3 of us tucked into fish & chips. Then the others arrived back after eating their meals, and asked for their fish & chips as well?!?! (First question, what would you do give them it?)

But then DSD said to DSS, save it till tomorrow as that's what we'd said to the others (bearing in mind they'd eaten already). Is that weird what DSS said? Is she trying to say it's fair? Wwyd???

CockAcid 🤣🤣🤣🤣

HappylandToysEverywhere · 29/08/2017 00:53

I'll remember that for when I'm in Whitby next week Floella cheers! 👍🏻

HappylandToysEverywhere · 29/08/2017 00:56

Which Haven site was this OP?

ForgotwhatIcameinherefor · 29/08/2017 01:10

I would guess that although DSS has not had a "meal" as such, DSD is saying this because he went back with the others to the restaurant and hoovered up bits and pieces from each of the plates; so she considers those meals "shared" and her brother to have therefore already eaten too. Welcome to the world of sibling moanery - esp BIg Sisters btw 😜

Roussette · 29/08/2017 06:55

(forgot to add x4 onion rings)

Now I understand!!! Not really. Just joking

Could I just ask a daft couple of questions.

If you left 3 half eaten meals because the restaurant ran out of food and you went off to the chippy, how come the 3 meals were left on the table? Why hadn't the restaurant taken them away? And how come, if the restaurant had closed, the doors were still open for the kids to run back in, sit down and eat the meals that had probably been sat there for 20 minutes?

Also you said somewhere that there was a half eaten cheeseburger but now you're saying none of the restaurant meals were touched?

I'm going to really regret asking these questions I know I am Grin

VanillaSugar · 29/08/2017 07:14

I think the other adult was still in the pub and eating guarding the pub food.

helensburgh · 29/08/2017 07:20

I'm. Concerned about the ' saving" of the fish and chips.
Does this involve reheating?

By the way I don't hink you were being unreasonable.
Teenagers are greedy sods but they had their chance with the pub food.

ShotsFired · 29/08/2017 07:20

...While the other 5 went off to buy 6 portions of chips? So they were planning on having 9 meals in total?

Why?!

VanillaSugar · 29/08/2017 07:28

Because the six portions of fish and chips were free.

sweetbitter · 29/08/2017 07:46

This thread keeps popping up in my Threads I'm On, and every damn time I see it it just makes me want fish and chips.

Would that I had been there to help OP with one of her extraneous free portions.

Havingahorridtime · 29/08/2017 07:50

The kids issue with food is almost certainly caused by her mothers weirdness around food.

You were wrong though -,the three extra portions should have been shared out between whoever wanted to eat them. By saving 3 portions for the next day you are reinforcing the mothers weirdness about food rationing.

Havingahorridtime · 29/08/2017 07:53

And it's perfectly okay for anyone to overeat slightly when they are on holiday especially when their mother gives a bowl of soup or beans on toast in order to save a proper meal for the next day when other family members have eaten a proper meal.

Athousanddiamonds · 29/08/2017 11:28

I have just rtft. I think I need Carol Vorderman to break it down for me. Who had what when? Easily the most difficult mathematical conundrum I have ever come across! :s

and this bit On further digging with my DH he stated if that situation occurred with his EXW she would of made the people who didn't have the restaurant meals save the fish n chips, so everyone could sit down the day after and eat them all together? I stated but why as they didn't have anything to eat .. DH stated they would of had to have soup or beans on toast etc ... I find that hard to understand..

Just... whaaaaaa...????

grandOlejukeofYork · 29/08/2017 12:06

I can't understand the concept of putting lovely fresh hot and FREE fish and chips in the fridge to go nasty and soggy and digusting rather than let a child who wants to eat it just fecking eat it.

How mean and miserly can you get? And that's you on holiday? Fuck me.

Ontheboardwalk · 29/08/2017 12:31

I could eat a 3 course meal in a restaurant, be full to the brim, but still want lovely fresh fish and chips once I got a whiff of them. This is on a normal day let alone on my hols!

By the way did they charge you for the 3 meals in the restaurant? It does seem really strange they ran out of food after they had cooked the first 3 meals

ItsThisOneThing · 29/08/2017 13:08

Actual tears 😂😂

RhubardGin · 29/08/2017 13:13

Hang on, so you were prepared to leave three perfectly fine meals uneaten in the restaurant after they had been dished out?

For that YABU

RhubardGin · 29/08/2017 13:15

Roussette

My thoughts exactly!

It's almost as if OP is making this up as she goes along Wink

Shadow666 · 29/08/2017 13:20

Thanks for coming back OP!

I don't know but if my partner suggested that I leave the chips until tomorrow and that I have soup and toast instead...

From my cold dead hands is all I can say!

Thishatisnotmine · 29/08/2017 13:25

Why have I just read all of this?! And why did it take until 19:12 and happytobee to remember that a double cheeseburger was mentioned!

Roussette · 29/08/2017 13:33

Rhubard Oh yes.
It's almost as if OP is making this up as she goes along

Well blow me down, never thought of that oh yes I did!
Grin

I need to know what happened to half eaten cheeseburger! I cannot rest until I know this!

IdoHaveAName · 29/08/2017 13:35

I am utterly baffled. Utterly.

HopeontheHorizon · 29/08/2017 13:36

I think the staff are U here. They (presumably) took an order for 6 people. The order got dialled through to the kitchen, presumably on the same order number.

You'd think the chefs would tell the waiter to the tell the OPs family 'I'm sorry but we're out of X, were closing soon and all we have left are double cheeseburgers and chips if you'd prefer?'

Not make three fecking meals from the same order then decide actually we don't have enough food to complete this order 😂🤣🤣🤣

Happytobefree17 · 29/08/2017 13:50

OP ordered the cheeseburger but DSD ate it.

thecatfromjapan · 29/08/2017 13:55

I think DSD ate half of it.

Maybe.
