Mumsnetters, I've had enough!!! I am 3 stone heavier than I was prior to DC's, unfit, have wobbly bits where no woman should have wobbly bits, and almost collapsed when I caught sight of my legs in the mirror while sporting a (very unflattering) swimsuit on holiday last week.

So that's it. It ends here. I am determined to lose weight. It took 9 months to put on (and has stayed on for many many more months!! - DC's are 3 and 5!!), so I pledge to lose it again in 9 months! And ... to get fit, and do something nice for a great charity, I've signed up for a charity place in the London Marathon ... just waiting to see if I get accepted. The marathon is on 22nd April - so that's my target! to run the marathon on 22nd April, and to have got back to my pre-baby weight, by that date.

AIBU to post one comment on this thread everyday to keep me motivated and stop me from backing out or giving up??

AI(also)BU to ask for a few supporting comments, and maybe for one or two of you (or more!!) to join me in pledging to lose weight/give up smoking/get fit/give up chocolate ..or whatever! for the next 9 months??

We can do it!!!! keep checking in here! and lets see if we can keep this going to April 22nd, and lets celebrate on that day!

The 9 month challenge starts now! ......

Well done Mul :)

(Think it's just us on here now!!!)

Yeah I'm tracking my food in a food diary, which goes ok for a few days, then I binge and can't bring myself to write down what I ate, and the next few days r a wash out! Maybe will try again with the food tomorrow :)

Running at least going ok! (Even if the calories aren't :(!!) - managed 2 hours on my treadmill tonight :) bit of a foot niggle, but otherwise all ok. I'm doubting I will reach my weight loss target :( but feeling fairly confident (touch wood, touch wood!!!) that the marathon should be ok as long as no major hiccups!! Smile

Bumping back up because I have had a lovely family weekend but curtailed due to my excess weigh and the photos are horrible of me!
Just booked a holiday for 30th March and have been offered the chance to take part in a fun activity for free next summer which I can only do if I shift the weight.
OP is it worth asking this to be shifted to the weightloss board to o keep it going?
I did lose 3 lbs last week but have atbleast 5 or 6 stones to shift.

MulhuddartDrive · 18/09/2017 19:57

Hi hippy! Unfortunately my weekend was good too, so back to it today. I walked 5km, did 30mins weights/core at the gym and am significantly under my calorie limit. Result! Dh is away again this week and next (can't bloody wait for September to be over) so I'm fitting in what I can between school runs, general kid-stuff and work.

9 are you doing all your training on a treadmill? That's even more dedicated than I thought! Its amazing you're up to two hours already

MulhuddartDrive · 19/09/2017 18:43

Ugh, another bloody migraine. I thought my iffy belly last night might have been from the unexpected sit ups Blush Anyway, feeling sick so under calorie goal and I walked the school run this afternoon which is 4k.

9monthChallenge · 19/09/2017 21:20

Sorry about the migraine Mul :( they r so crap aren't they! Hope u r feeling a bit better!

Treadmill is for long runs when kids r in bed, and days when husband is working late shifts and I can't get out for a run! Actually, during my two hour treadmill plod the other night, I managed to catch up on a few episodes of child genius!!! So not all bad! (Well depending on how u look at it!!)

Had a run (outside!!) last night, but not today - have a foot niggle which is getting worse, so off to get some new trainers tomorrow in the hope I can shrug it off!

My eating is still rubbish! I'm v jealous of you Mul! Staying under your calorie limit :) I must try harder (sounds like my old school reports!!!) - maybe I'll try again with the calories tomorrow! Why do I constantly feel the bloody need to eat???? ...especially chocolate and sweet stuff????? ggggrrrrrrr!!!!Angry

Smile

I've entered marathon as well! Not sure I'll be allowed to do it even if I do get in (spine surgery few months ago) but I'll give it a damb good try!

MulhuddartDrive · 24/09/2017 22:21

Shamefacedly checking in. The rest of the week was awful, but I got a half hour jog this evening and I feel really good after it. I've another hectic weekn (dh still away and wedding very far away at the weekend) bit I'm hoping to get something done everyday between now and Thursday so I can fit into the wedding outfit I feel I've earned the night of fun.

Well done for signing up for the marathon, mummy! I'll have to plod along behind you guys...if I get back up to 10k I'll be delighted! Blush

MulhuddartDrive · 25/09/2017 16:48

Ok, good day today. I did a 6km plod run and a 3.5km walk (school run). I really didn't want to do either but feel amazing for both. And I have barely eaten as I never feel hungry after exercise. Result.

MulhuddartDrive · 27/09/2017 13:37

4km walk with a friend last night although it may have been counteracted by the wine afterwards!

MulhuddartDrive · 27/09/2017 22:22

Weather had been awful here today so I didn't get out for a run when I hoped. By the time it cleared up, I couldn't face running so I went for a walk, about 6km.

Off to a wedding tomorrow so unlikely to get anything more in before Sunday.

Callamia · 28/09/2017 17:59

I made my first goal! 5k by the end of September. It was slow, and I can't promised that I ran every last step, but it wasn't the slowest I've ever done. It felt great.

I need to follow this up with another run this weekend, and work towards getting faster. I'm considering signing up for a 10k next year (when I can be away from the baby long enough).

MulhuddartDrive · 28/09/2017 19:01

Callamia! It's a great feeling isn't it Grin well done!

5.5 hours of driving and child-friendly stops so even if I didn't have a ping in hand it wasn't raining, I'm fit for nothing tonight. I'll have to dance my socks off at the wedding tomorrow instead.

MulhuddartDrive · 01/10/2017 23:31

Back from the wedding. I did manage a night of dancing, so I definitely got my 10k steps in on Friday! I was reasonably restrained with the food and booze too, so hopefully it didn't do too much damage overall. We got back last night so I dragged myself out for a run today and did a slow 45mins.

Callamia · 02/10/2017 09:45

Good work!
The baby has brochiolitis, so I've been confined to base all weekend. I'm hopeful that he'll be well enough soon for me to get out.

MulhuddartDrive · 03/10/2017 18:19

Oh, poor baby, I hope he's on the mend?

Gym today, but the gods were against me...I first forgot my entry fob so had to call home on my way from work to get it. Then, as I was was walking through the door I realised I'd forgotten my trainers . I decided not to give in to the fates so I did go back and pick them up but ended up only having time for 30mins. I did some weights, kettle bells and core work. Also managing to stick Tommy calorie limit today and yesterday

MulhuddartDrive · 06/10/2017 12:43

Bad week Blush I've been good with my calorie allowance but not sure it should consist entirely of chocolate and crisps but not enough exercise. Anyway, I got out for a 5k before work today. I'm listening to Robert Webb's audio book which is excellent running company.

MulhuddartDrive · 07/10/2017 21:43

20min hiit circuit this evening

MulhuddartDrive · 08/10/2017 22:15

7km tonight which is the furthest I've for in a long time. And I did intervals so a little faster than of late too.

Callamia · 08/10/2017 23:02

You're nailing this. Really well done.
Baby still ill here, and I'm in over my head with work and the eldest's birthday. I don't like life getting in the way, but for now - it really has.

Calvinlookingforhobbs · 08/10/2017 23:19

Well done doe far! You need to stop binging! The first three days will be hard by once you cut all the surgar and junk out you will be amazed at how quickly you stop craving it. Stay strong, nothing that's worth it is easy...
