Mumsnetters, I've had enough!!! I am 3 stone heavier than I was prior to DC's, unfit, have wobbly bits where no woman should have wobbly bits, and almost collapsed when I caught sight of my legs in the mirror while sporting a (very unflattering) swimsuit on holiday last week.

So that's it. It ends here. I am determined to lose weight. It took 9 months to put on (and has stayed on for many many more months!! - DC's are 3 and 5!!), so I pledge to lose it again in 9 months! And ... to get fit, and do something nice for a great charity, I've signed up for a charity place in the London Marathon ... just waiting to see if I get accepted. The marathon is on 22nd April - so that's my target! to run the marathon on 22nd April, and to have got back to my pre-baby weight, by that date.

AIBU to post one comment on this thread everyday to keep me motivated and stop me from backing out or giving up??

AI(also)BU to ask for a few supporting comments, and maybe for one or two of you (or more!!) to join me in pledging to lose weight/give up smoking/get fit/give up chocolate ..or whatever! for the next 9 months??

We can do it!!!! keep checking in here! and lets see if we can keep this going to April 22nd, and lets celebrate on that day!

The 9 month challenge starts now! ......

I feel like death so no planned run this evening. I am under my calorie goal though, so that's good. Next few days will be hard as dh is away so I won't be able to get out for a run.

Happy weekend everyone! Wine

9monthchallenge · 02/09/2017 00:43

Well done on the weigh-in Mul Smile

Calories pretty good for me today Grin but no run as been working all bloody night and now it's too late for a run!!!!

Bring on tomorrow 🏃‍♀️💫

Well done Mul, it's going in the right direction!

For the runners out there - are you doing any yoga to complement your running? When I started doing longer distances I found yoga twice a week really beneficial.

Google "runners yoga - yoga with Adrienne" for a 30 minute YouTube vid of a gentle stretching session.

I used to do this the days I couldn't run so at least I'd feel if done something.

PanicAtTheDisco2000 · 02/09/2017 10:00

My weekly weigh in (will normally do on a Friday but missed that as was away).

I have stated the same weight this week, but I am chuffed with that as have been away for a week and have had far too many glasses of wine and late night chocolate.

I am therefore still 3lb down out of a total 37lb to lose = 8.1% of the way there after 2 weeks.

9monthchallenge · 03/09/2017 21:03

Well done panic!

So today and yesterday were rubbish calories-wise! Sad Went to a children's birthday party today and I couldn't resist the cake!!! And party sausages!! Also tucked into a few glasses of wine last night! Wink Wine However! .... have just been for 45 min run :) so at least feeling optimistic on the fitness front!

2 weeks down!!! :) yey!!! .... 33 left to go! Bring it on!!!

OP posts:
MulhuddartDrive · 04/09/2017 21:44

Very jealous, 9! I could do with a glass of something!

Weekend was terrible as predicted, but today I did 12k steps and have been feeling iffy, so ate very little. Result! Grin

MulhuddartDrive · 05/09/2017 21:37

Still working so no chance of the run I planned. Well under daily calorie limit though. Some upsides to immense stress, I suppose Hmm

9monthchallenge · 05/09/2017 23:19

Grin I eat when I'm stressed Mul.. so no upsides for me!!! Also stressful day here!!!! So calories not great :( but 1 hr run on treadmill just now! so not all bad! Wink (don't b jealous of the wine Mul... !!! Had a hangover which turned to migraine and was so bad I nearly vomited at school pick up!!!! Sumatriptan sorted it and it was gone by 7pm, but wiped out most of the day! No more drink for me for a while!!! - migraines always f up my healthy eating too, as food always helps ease the symptoms!!! Damn those bloody migraines Angry

Ps. Mul.. Still working at 9:30 ?? Sounds horrible! :( hope you r now finished for the night :)

OP posts:
MulhuddartDrive · 06/09/2017 01:09

Only just finished, 9! Something I should have finished ages ago, but various other "must do" items got in the way. Anyway, back broken in it now, which is good.

Hope the migraine hangover doesn't last too long. Thank god alcohol doesn't trigger mine, I'd never cope! Blush. Very impressed that you can run after one!

9monthchallenge · 06/09/2017 21:03

Omg Mul..!!!! You finished late! Hope u got some kind of a lie in!!

So day 17! .... finally cracked and weighed myself! .. have lost I think about 8lbs!!! But its a shock as the calories really have not been as low as they should've been!!! Wink anyway, I know it's easier to lose the weight the heavier you are! And the first week or two is always fast! But anyhow.... I have lost and it's spurred me on to keep going!! ..... bring on tomorrow! Wine good luck to everyone joining in Smile

Unfortunately not, 9, but I took a couple of hours off this afternoon to hang out with the children so I feel a bit better. That said, I'm paying for it now and still at my desk (or actually, on the couch with my laptop). This month is horrendous for lots of work and not work reasons so it's just a case of getting through it.

Well done on your loss! It's a great motivation to see the scales dropping.

I had a sneaky weigh in this morning and I'm down to 77kg! That's 3kg/7ish pounds so not quite as good as you, but I'm delighted and I'm having celebratory toblerone Blush Grin (since I ate so little the last couple of days I'll still be well under my weekly allowance)

MulhuddartDrive · 07/09/2017 19:33

Finished at a reasonable time today so went out for a slow jog. Well, plod really, but I did 25mins. I've also eaten very little so I shall enjoy some cake when I meet a friend later.

Nearly the weekend....

MulhuddartDrive · 08/09/2017 21:37

Official weigh in this morning, and I was 76.3kg. I'm pretty sure I've eaten every last gramme back tonight with a mountain of take away, but after this week it's worth every wonton filled bite Wink

Hen party this weekend plus a lot of driving so I don't think I'll get any exercise and I'll have to try to be restrained with munching, but fingers crossed.

Happy weekend, everyone Wine

9monthchallenge · 08/09/2017 22:00

Have a great weekend Mul! Smile

Too much to eat today! Never mind! Tomorrow's another day! Smile

PanicAtTheDisco2000 · 08/09/2017 23:12

Week 3 weigh in.
I've lost a lb, so 4lbs to date.
As a % todate I've lost 10.8% of the 37lbs I need to lose.
Have had half a bottle of prosecco and half a bar of chocolate to celebrate Smile

9monthchallenge · 09/09/2017 21:29

Well done panic! Smile

I'm finding the diet hard, but so far exercise is going ok! 50 min run tonight :) whoop whoop! When I started this 3 weeks ago, I wasn't sure. I'd make the marathon, but tonight feeling optimistic!! ...32 weeks to go!! ...

MulhuddartDrive · 13/09/2017 18:49

Hi folks, how's everyone doing?

The weekend wasn't great for me, hen party and lots of driving, but I drank very little and made reasonably sensible food picks. This week has been bonkers so far with work, and now I'm travelling until Friday. I have managed 8kish steps the last few days and 13k today (yay for airports Grin). Meetings don't start til 11 tomorrow so I'm going to try to do a run, since I lugged my trainees with me. I'll just have to avoid all the amazing pastries!

9monthchallenge · 13/09/2017 23:26

Hey Mul :) mmmm... pastries :)

Well my exercise Is going ok (lots of running of late) but I'm REALLY struggling with food! I just can't seem to stop myself indulging or giving in to cravings :( feeling scared I'll give up on my diet :( weight probably definitely plateauing (although too scared to check!!) Anyone got any tips to keep my calories on track ? and not go on a massive binge????? :)

OP posts:
MulhuddartDrive · 14/09/2017 23:10

Are you tracking your food? I find my fitness pal is helpful, but only as long as I'm honest Blush

I did 5k this morning. It was slow, but better than nothing.

Travelling home tomorrow so not sure how the day will go. Back on the horse on Sunday though.

MulhuddartDrive · 15/09/2017 20:26

15k steps today, thanks to a walk around a palace and an airport. Airport food to counteract it though...
