To not wash in the morning?

I start very early - usually before 7 - and often don't get back till about half nine so I shower then. Then in the morning I just put my uniform on and go. AIBU?

I shower before bed.

I wipe over my face with a baby wipe in the morning and brush my teeth.

wrenika · 19/08/2017 22:12

I do the same. It takes me 14 minutes (exactly) from getting up to leaving the house. I get up at 6am and catch the 6.18am bus into town. I hate showering in the morning. Nobody's ever told me I smell...it's not as if I'm doing gymnastics in my sleep! I shower ever second day and have always done. Good enough for me. I have rotten eczema and the more I wash the more irritated it gets so I'm not an every day shower person. Nobody has ever made comment on my personal hygiene so far.

hellokittymania · 19/08/2017 22:17

I shower at night. In the UK, I don't like going outside in the cold after a shower and to me everything below 20° is freezing. If I am in Asia, I will take a shower before I go out and in some cases, when I get home. The pollution in Ho Chi Minh City can be very bad and when you have street food often times the smoky smell will get in your hair and in your clothes and on your skin.

I bathe at night then work in morning unless iv been sweating or on

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 19/08/2017 22:22

I leave for work at 6:30 am and shower beforehand but it's whatever works for you.

I'm early 40's and get horrendous night sweats, an evening shower wouldn't work for me! I can be up, showered, dressed and ready to go in 18 minutes though unless I wash my hair.

A good shower cap is amazing op, I paid about £8 for mine and I look ridiculous in it but it keeps my hair moisture free.

ChickenVindaloo2 · 19/08/2017 22:22

I shower before the gym as well as afterwards.

Apparently this makes me weird.

But I don't like starting to exercise when I feel smelly and dirty.

To those of you who sleep with other humans or animals: please, wash off their hair/fur/sweat/dead skin cells before you sit next to me at work!

Many thanks!

cardibach · 19/08/2017 22:28

The people who think you're dirty and need to wash your bedsheets daily if you don't shower before bed are as nuts as the ones who think you stink if you don't shower first thing. Unless you have a physical/dirty job, one shower a day, or even every other day, will leave you clean.

AccrualIntentions · 19/08/2017 22:28

How close do you sit to your colleagues? Shock

OnlyAmy · 19/08/2017 22:35

I can't go to bed, on clean sheets, in the grime of the day, and sleep beside someone else. If we're both clean, we are more likely to do things other than sleeping! I live in a very, very warm and often humid area and go to sleep CLEAN. Before work, will wash up, apply deodorant and such. If I want another shower, it's not an issue, but I would never go to bed without being clean.

TinselTwins · 19/08/2017 22:38

I do wash in the morning (and then again before bed) if I've had a big dirty lie-in!

I don't get into that lovely sweaty snorey lie-in sleep zone when I'm getting up early for work

Loves me a big dirty snorey lie-in!

PieceOfMich · 19/08/2017 22:41

Most of the replies on this thread have surprised me. I thought most people who have to leave the house early in the morning had their shower in the evening.

Gunpowder · 19/08/2017 22:42

I have baths instead!

dudsville · 19/08/2017 22:44

You have a long work day op asks I respect that. Your body, your life, your rules. As for me, I leave home at 6.30 am, back at 5.30 pm. I shower in the morning because it makes me feel better. My body, my life, my rules!

5rivers7hills · 19/08/2017 22:45

I shower at night

Unless I've had sex and got all sweaty and sex smelly

Janeismymiddlename · 19/08/2017 22:46

I'm the same, would, rather have the extra time in bed and frankly I don't have the time to dry my hair (long and thick) and do everything else. My children and I are a well tuned morning machine - up and ready to go in 40 minutes.

woodhill · 19/08/2017 22:49

Shower in the morning. If it's hot I may shower in evening too. I find my skin gets itchy if I shower too much,

HoneyIshrunktheBiscuit · 19/08/2017 22:58

If I shower more than every other day my eczema flares up and gets awful. I don't think I smell but if I do well I'd rather that than be in constant pain with bleeding itchy legs.

Fernanie · 19/08/2017 23:05

I work shifts in a hospital, where I routinely get other people's bodily fluids on me. So I shower after work (whether that's morning or night). Before work (whether morning or night) I have a quick wash of any "nooks and crannies" that might need freshening up.

brasty · 19/08/2017 23:10

Shower once every 2 days. Evening if I did exercise, morning otherwise.

MissAlabamaWhitman · 19/08/2017 23:11

In future I'm going to derive a perverse pleasure just from knowing that I've slept in a bed with my OH, foregone a morning shower and then sat next to a work colleague.

I had no idea that I was behaving so disgustingly rebellious by doing so.

I can be winding up the uptight people up with very little effort, who knew?

😎

I don't bath everyday, I'm not smelly or filthy. Imo there is no reason for me to bath every day. I've never been accused of being smelly.

itsbetterthanabox · 20/08/2017 05:50

I often shower or bath at night. I'll only need to shower in the morning instead in the hottest part of summer or when I'm on my period.
It's perfectly clean. I still shower everyday.
Why are so many of you sweating heavily in bed?
I wash my hair 3 times a week. I don't use a shower cap during the other showers I just don't get my hair wet. Just soap up and rinse body. Do you wash your hair everyday then op?

itsbetterthanabox · 20/08/2017 05:52

Those who don't shower daily do you have a strip wash/flannel undercarriage each day in between?
I think I'd feel I needed to so wondered if you do? No judgement just interest!
