To not wash in the morning?

I start very early - usually before 7 - and often don't get back till about half nine so I shower then. Then in the morning I just put my uniform on and go. AIBU?

true meh sorry that must have been a different clean freak that used the word disgusting. My comments stand though.

Skinfulnappies46 · 19/08/2017 20:27

When I'm up early for work at 6.30 I shower the night before. In the morning, cleanse my face and wash underarms and brush teeth. I'm not dirty
. OP there are many haters here on MN who will have you feel like a pigs trotter . Ignore them.

Kahlua4me · 19/08/2017 20:28

When I was nursing I certainly didn't shower before work. Why get up early enough to shower before a 7am start when I didn't need to?

Once a day is plenty!

Purplemac · 19/08/2017 20:31

I've always been a night shower person. I don't swear much at night and certainly still feel fresh in the morning. I leave at 5.30am if I was to shower then the noise from the pump would wake the whole house up.

LoyaltyAndLobster · 19/08/2017 20:34

Calatonia Ok...

TheFairyCaravan · 19/08/2017 20:37

Each to their own I suppose but it's not for me.

DH gets up at 5:20 and leaves the house at 6:25. He has a shower every morning without fail. He has another when he gets home in the evening too. Clean uniform everyday.

DS2 has a shower every morning, and evening, even when he's on the wards for 7. He has a clean uniform Daily.

The only time DS1 doesn't shower is when he's on exercise. On a normal day he showers before work. Has another after PT and another. in the evening. He has a clean uniform every day.

I don't sweat a lot at night but I don't feel clean in the mornings unless I have a shower. I like a shower and clean Pjs before bed. As long as the people around me don't smell I don't care what anyone else does.

IDoDaChaCha · 19/08/2017 20:48

How often you need to bathe depends on the person, how sweaty they are generally and what they've been doing. If it suits you, cool. Who cares what anyone else is doing. I like to shower in the mornings as I can be a sweaty sleeper. But recently I've been bathing with DD in the mornings (instead of bathing her separately at night). If I didn't bathe or shower every day I'd feel dirty but that's because I'm a grubby got who needs washing often Grin I've only ever smelt B.O. on a few people out and about but that doesn't mean they don't bathe, it could be chronic sweating so I don't judge I just hold my breath and run in the other direction Grin

yellowlanterns · 19/08/2017 21:19

I suppose it is either

After a long hard night sleeping (Hmm) I have a shower and go to work.

Or, after a long gruelling day at work, I have a shower and go to bed.

The latter makes more sense! (IMO!)

I shower 2-3 times a week sometimes more if I remember. I work in a physically demanding job too. I don't smell, my mum would definitely tell me as she's a bit of a clean freak. Or my DP. I'm not really that worried if I do smell a bit tbh. I can't believe people shower twice a day Grin my ex used to do this but he still smelled weird, I think it just depends on your natural smell, some peoples smells bad others doesn't.

blackteasplease · 19/08/2017 21:45

I often have my shower/ bath in the evening rather than the morning. I usually have a standup wash in the morning just to be sure but don't think I sweat at night tbh.

spankhurst · 19/08/2017 21:49

I don't shower before work, I shower at the end of the day and go to bed fresh and clean. In the morning I do a quick pit wash etc. I absolutely don't smell. I'd feel really unclean getting into bed with the day's sweat on me.

Urubu · 19/08/2017 21:53

Imagine the pigs who crawl into bed covered in work juice
Grin
Evening shower for me as well, morning one only if I feel sweaty when I wake up which is not very often.

NoParticularPattern · 19/08/2017 21:58

I genuinely didn't realise showering on a morning was a thing til about 3 years ago. I couldn't sleep if I didn't shower before bed so I don't shower on a morning as it would be twice the water and twice the products.

I don't think anything of it OP, so long as you don't smell (I don't and I'm guessing you don't either!!)

ArgyMargy · 19/08/2017 22:01

I once met someone who hadn't showered within the last hour. It was so shocking I nearly choked.

SaucyJack · 19/08/2017 22:03

I hope you rang 101 and got them to make a note of it ArgyMargy.

CheeseCakeSunflowers · 19/08/2017 22:03

I work on a farm, the cows have never complained about my smell when I'm working amongst them so I shall continue to wash after I finish work.

MaisyPops · 19/08/2017 22:05

Im a night shower person. I like to wash the day's muck away before climbing into bed.

Morning - wash face and anywhere that may smell (but like other night showerers i dont sweat much at night).

ALittleMop · 19/08/2017 22:05

of course it's fine, depending what you get up to in bed

ChristmasFluff · 19/08/2017 22:06

People in general wash too much. I used to have a shower in the morning and a bath in the evening - terrible eczema. Now I bath every couple of days (in the evening), pit and groin wash on the other days after I exercise each evening, and use a face wipe on my pits in the morning, after cleansing my face with it. No eczema (although that may well not be the only reason). Don't smell cos I use deodorant and wash enough. A daily shower is plenty for keeping clean, whether a.m or p.m.

MaMisled · 19/08/2017 22:06

I'm totally with you OP. Shower at night, hands and face wash in the morning and another layer of roll on.

Life's too short and an extra 15 mins sleep will benefit you more than another bloody shower!

It's what Impulse is made for.

helpme85 · 19/08/2017 22:07

YANBU - I shower generally in the evenings. Well we all do DH and kids bathe in evening.

We like to go to bed nice and clean into our clean beds. Not taking the muck/dust of the day with us. Don't get morning showering. You've only slept in one place for 8hours or so.

You're dirtier when you get in from work/outside! Especially the kids!

TinselTwins · 19/08/2017 22:07

well people who do a daily shower in the morning will wake up stinky cause they go to bed stinky Grin

If you do your shower at night then you're not gonna wake up as stinky as someone who hasn't showered for 24hours and who slept in all of their day grime!

I think its gross to sleep in your day grime but that's just my personal preference. I like to go to bed fresh. When I wake up it's only 8hrs since I've washed!

That said I did shower twice a day when I lived in a grimey city.

itusedtobeverydifferent · 19/08/2017 22:08

Christmas I'd have agreed once but my eczema is awful right now and sweating! Oh my...makes it 100% worse so I'm showering a lot now.

ChickenVindaloo2 · 19/08/2017 22:11

I have a portable shower so, no matter where I am, I can shower on the hour, every hour! Grin
