Like a steady "drip, drip, drip" people are finally asking the right questions.

It's worth noting, Pain, that the Idaho rep is facing backlash for repeating the tale, though.

That's true! And to be fair, he probably thought that trump
Managed to be elected president while espousing racist conspiracy theories about Obama so probably didn't he'd be in trouble

Hmm, I wouldn't want to piss off the very people who are stopping the 'murdering, raping terrorists' from getting at you.

Source: "Clinton treated USSS agents like friends. Bush treated them w great respect. Obama, like family. Trump treats them like servants."

I also hear from multiple sources that Secret Service agents are at the end of their rope, sick of being treated like servants by Trump.

Yeah, the cartoon frontman being "done for" wouldn't be the end of the problem (however satisfying that might be). It's just a change of tack by his backers, who'll look for other ways to rule the country for their own benefit.

Any doctors in the house who could explain if these meds could have any bearing on the behaviour we are seeing now?

A twitter thread from Kurt Eichenwald @kurteichenwald

  1. Fun fact: In 1982, Trump started taking amphetamine derivatives. Abused them. Only supposed 2 take for 25 days. Stayed on em 8 yrs. Really.
  2. ..White House admitted it 2 me, said "only a short time for diet" when he was not overweight. I countered w/ med records, they cut me off.
  3. Ppl misreading. Drug was diethylpropion. 75 mgs/day. Prescription filled at Duane Reade on 57th Street in Manhattan. Not that I know things.
  4. ...Doctor who wrote prescription, Dr. Joseph Greenberg, diagnosed him with “metabolic imbalance” which we have never heard about again....
  5. ...Greenberg was later publicly slammed as someone who provided uppers to rich people in Manhattan.
  6. ...a "metabolic imbalance" if true could bea electrolyte insufficiencies, anaerobic imbalances, acid imbalances, and an assortment of....
  7. ...related disorders that can have serious health consequences. Yet his OTHER doctor, Dr. Harold Bornstein, said he had been Trump's....
  8. ....doctor since 1980 and never mentioned the "metabolic imbalance" found by Greenberg. Did Bornstein even know Greenberg treated Trump?

Can't shed any light there I'm afraid!

I don't know much about Axios News, but they seem busy on the new Bannon message.

Christina Wilkies' Twitter feed (above) contains this link:

"1 big thing: Bannon plots Fox rival, global expansion
"Unshaven and working from home in cargo shorts as he moves into "Bannon the Barbarian" mode, Steve Bannon is thinking bigger than Breitbart."

And an article on how 45 is over:
"Growing Trump threat: GOP lawmakers know his bark is way worse than his bite, and no longer fear his tweet threats or bluster."

It's interesting to see how these articles are being propagated. Christina Wilkie doesn't seem particularly 45-friendly or Bannon-friendly, but her propagating the articles will be doing Bannon's work for him. And I've propagated them here (albeit without links), so me too.

I need to ponder this, because of the way newspapers were used by Wikileaks (aka the Russians?) to propagate carefully selected leaked material. The papers had the dilemma of not publishing, or publishing despite suspecting they were being used to create bias.

PerkingFaintly · 21/08/2017 17:15

Sorry, should have said Christina Wilkies' links were to Axios articles.

PerkingFaintly · 21/08/2017 17:21

Actually I tell a lie: I've now read more of her Tweets, and I can't say whether Christina Wilkie is Bannon-friendly. She might be.

If she's amplifying the Bannon message deliberately, then obviously the dilemma doesn't arise!

My first thought is whether he still have all his teeth.

Sharpish I would imagine, Cozie - Trump needs the Secret Service $$$ to keep Mar-a-Lago liquid. Wink

lionheart · 21/08/2017 17:39

They are for weight loss, aren't they? As much as I can't bear to look at Trump too closely, it seems to me that his weight (or maybe just bloatedness) changes in a cycle.

Unless he has employed a very busy photoshopper.

A blast from the past.

When people thought a recently elected not very bright and contentious GOP President, who didn't win the popular vote, wouldn't get re-elected.
And that a seemingly crazy outsider film star was a joke regarding his potential run for California Governor.

Oh, and apparently the US forces "needed a war".

It's 2001, folks. Shock Good times.

cozietoesie · 21/08/2017 21:24

Lordy.

And let's not forget that Nixon was re-elected.

cozietoesie · 21/08/2017 21:34

There's an interesting school of thought beginning to emerge from some of the 'remainers'. A sort of 'I have to stay now because Goodness help the country if I don't..............'.
