I know this may sound very nosey but what are you planning to have for your evening meal tonight?!

Struggling to think of something and I need to try and make our meals more exciting! Thankyou

Chinese takeaway. Two nights in a row.

We had hairy bikers chilli prawn pasta. I put too much chilli in. DP loved it. It burnt my mouth off. I am a hot food wimp though.

Just ate mine - tomato and mozzarella tarts and coleslaw. All courtesy of Aldi ready made (they were rather nice too)

Homemade chicken x veg Tikka masala, Naan Bread and spinach and lentil dahl.

Sausages, mash and veg. I need to a food shop so it's boring one tonight. I don't fancy it after reading this thread now though... I want a Chinese!

RandomlyGenerated I love Lebanon and have had amazing food there. My favourite place is a family run restaurant in Byblos overlooking the sea. We would drive from Beirut to Tripoli on the weekend just to get Lebanese pastries.

Spinach daal (cooking now) with rice and some bought piri piri chicken thighs (mostly for DH but I'll sneak a bit).

Something boring like pasta. DS2 is out, DS1 is working til 8.30 and I'm going swimming. So will be something quick and easy about 9pm.

DDs had chicken in cheese and ham sauce with mash and veg
Me and DH will be having chicken with mushroom rice and wine

Chicken (DCat will love us), mash and veg. Homemade trifle for pudding, if I can get the darn custard to set.

DH got some good news this morning so I upgraded from our original plans for dinner and went out to get stuff for a celebration then I got a message as he left work saying he was going to the pub to celebrate with friends. Now not answering phone. I'm starving!

Doesn't help that DC had friends over today and I fed them all an early dinner because the friends had a flight to catch, and there are no leftovers for me to scoff!

Chinese pork ribs, fresh new pots, fresh kidney beans from the garden and broad beans,

cheese and onion crisps and mayo in a wrap
then a tub of ice cream

Ham and mushroom pizza with some sweet potato chips 😋

Pudding will be a chocolate brownie cupcake when the kids are in bed so I don't have to share

Oh heavens. Just gone fishetarian last month but forgot to get fish. So tonight it'll be green beans and tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden. With an omelette. So missing thinly sliced liver breaded with finely chopped parsley and garlic ...

Wonderful Waitrose recipe of filo pastry/Italian blue cheese/broccoli and cream/sour cream/yoghourt/walnuts nearly held me on my course but guests ate it all on a picnic.

Heck chicken sausage and mushroom risotto and garlic bread.

I've just had marmite on toast to put me on, oh is out and won't be back till late so I'll be scraping together whatever is lurking in the cupboards, fridge and freezer. Boring! You all eat such exciting things!

Looking at these threads make me realise how things change over the decades. When I was growing up in the 70s 'home made' was judged to be rather common . My mum and nan grew up in eras which gave them no choice but to cook from scratch. Which probably explains their love of ready made (especially M&S) not having the choice made home made less enticing. MIL is of a similar generation and would find it hilarious to make home made pizza - and she's Italian!
